I completely agree. Also, how is it fair that Call of Duty, and Battlefield, some of the most unoriginal, and generic games of all time, earn millions of dollars, and get dozens of sequels without doing anything innovative, yet Bulletstorm only makes a small amount of money and everyone forgets about it?
josh vincent I wish this got a sequel all the time. I loved this game and thought it was so much fun. I understand the point of anything is to turn a profit but this was one of the few times I ever really bought something just because I thought it was mindless fun.
+josh vincent This underrated yes, but it felt more like an arcade shooting gallery game. This is honestly one the best gallery shooters ive ever had the pleasure of playing. The multiplayer is pretty much the same as single player, and you can't really comapre this to games like cod or battlefield since they're competitive shooters. This was fun as hell had a lot fo replay value, but lacks an efficient competitive multiplayer

Honestly, Gamespot reviewed this game similarly, but I don't get the fuss. I understand these are probably computer geeks who are reviewing these games, but Christ, grow a pair, my four year old niece has bigger huevos. "It's crass...maybe you should turn down your volume." When you read a book, do you jump to the end? Gamespot didn't get this and neither does IGN. These are supposed to be military personnel, not fast food restaurant employees. I was in the Army for 8 years and these simulated dialogues brought it all back for me. The raunchy talk and sexual banter is a way for soldiers to keep it light, take their minds off what they are doing or about to do, and get on with their day, maybe even with a smile on their face. Otherwise, they might just slit their fucking wrists after eating in the god forsaken mess hall. Yep, I guess I agree, it's a bit sophomoric, but it's conversations are more genuine then most war games portray. Thankfully, they don't show the other harsh realities of being a soldier, though they do address them, again, much to the makers credit. War games are fun, too fun sometimes, and they often make fun or too light of a subject that is in actuality far too horrific for words and levity. It is nice to have a game remind us that it isn't all bang, bang, kiss, kiss. I played the shit out of this game, and only have a few comments in the red. All in all, I'd give Bulletstorm a huge 8.5, 9. Gameplay was incredibly smooth and fun. Many thanks to People Can Fly and Epic Games, I'll be playing this one over and over and over. Next up, multiplayer. Cheers. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Peace! Мир! Paix! Frieden! Paz! Pace!
This game is freaking great, one of the best shooters I've played. A lot of reviews criticize the crude humor, but I was cracking up, and found it to be a welcome change from the mundane dialog found in other shooters. In short, GO GET IT!
Playing through the campaign again after 12 years. This game is timeless. If anybody is reading this in the future reply if they finally make a sequel.❤
Hey, can we just go ahead and make a rule about reviews? Though I thought this would easily be understood under the "common decency" clause that most humans have, apparently not. Do not, ever, in any way whatsoever, mention the ending of the game in a review. Not for good, not for bad. Not, "Oh man, the twist at the end is amazing!" Great, now the twist is ruined because I know it's there. "The ending was sequel bate." Great, now even if the ending WOULDN'T have bothered me without knowing about it, it does bother me now because I'm expecting to be upset by it. You've pre-decided if I like it by giving detail of it. Just, don't mention the ending. Thanks.
@b00mYou But it requires internet access which counts as multiplayer as well. You don't have to play multiplayer but what your doing even in single player will count in your mutilplayer account. You have to login before playing single player. So multiplayer / online are kind of related.
Bulletstorm is a tongue-in-cheek, silly, over the top, immature at times but completely awsome game that would have made even Neversoft proud. It would have even made a fantastic over the top sci-fi movie that Mad Max Fury Road could be friends with. It's a pretty dam good game :) Good thing too because I think that People Can Fly are finally working on the sequel. No joke.
Lrdvltr For me, it was mostly about the gameplay, and it was definitely interesting seeing the interaction between Gray and Ishi as he slowly turned less and less human as the game progressed.
I got this game for my 360 just because of the gears of war 3 beta and ended up enjoying this game a ton. This game has a very special place in my heart. I recommend getting it, it's 5 dollars on steam right now.
This games fun and all but I ran into glitch's around the end, such as invisible sniper rifle, losing ammo whenever I went to a drop ship, and switching my main assault rifle with my sniper rifle when I didn't want it to. I'm not sure if these problem's happen on the Xbox 360 version but they happened to me on the ps3 version.
@jakixs Not sure where you got that idea. Games are NOT just about single player experiences. Before digital games even existed, MOST of them were about multiplayer experiences. Games are just about fun experiences, whether single or multiplayer. What I believe you were meaning to say was that THIS game is about single-player experience. There are other games that focus primarily on multiplayer experience. Its all about what particular game is offering the player, not games in general.
great review. This is the kind of review that makes the next game better. However, I kinda like the elementary school dialog. Theres never a shortage of funny things the characters say. 4 example, Duke Nukem had some of the best one-liners and snappy comebacks of all time, but only rarely fired them off. (new DN might change that) This game is a great hold-over for GOW3. I was honestly expecting a borderlands type game & got something much better. Keep up the good work People Can Fly / Epic!!!
@TheCommenter1337 yes, thats the same voice actor his name is steve blum. you might also be hearing a little of spike spiegel, mugen from samurai champloo, and tom from toonami
I'm a big fan of Resistance 3, and have been looking for another game. Thx could be it. Anybody have any other suggestions for a first person shooter that may not be quite on the radar? Thanks
Found the Epic Edition of this at Wal Mart the other day for $20. I remembered hearing about it before it came out, and then hearing nothing. I'm so glad I bought it now.
***** Bro, you still need to install MS Live client to play the campaign. The campaign is quite fun. I hope they patch this to Steamworks...someday. :)
I completed it today... it was fun! It might get a lil bit boring in the middle but towards the end when u r reaching climax, u will get more excited as the story (though pretty much predictable) gets interesting! The gameplay is the main usp ... kill in style! And Unreal engine makes it visually stunning!
The newest machine I have is a 360. I’m looking for some virtually mindless FPS / “if it moves, kill it” games. Does anyone have suggestions? I’ve bought Boerderlands 2 bd a Far Cry (haven’t triedthem yet but for $6 total for both...).
I had only one problem with it ,it's to sensitive on mouse ,i lowered mouse sens as much i could and stil i can not control the mouse as good as i now i can ... its like im moving my mouse on ice, that kind of feeling ...did u guys had same feeling, its good it doesnt lag on mouse like most of new games on my rig but still i don't feel i'm one with the gun...
IGN fails to say one thing, this game is one of the funnest games i've played in so long. From start to finish I have a blast playing it, and that's what a game is really all about.
I am getting frustrated with the game having black boxes at the top and bottom of the screen making the game not full screen is there a way to turn it off so I can enjoy full screen?
I always put this one off but its 5 bucks on xbl right now. Seems worth it, i might also try the first mass effect and absolution, all together costing only $20
@manciuxl1 well. i have played this game and the review barely mentions the skillshots that are the core of the game and the idea that makes it fun to play.
My review: 9 +Great story +Tounge-in-cheek, crude humour +Anarchy is amazing with a good team +No competitve multiplayer -Short -Echoes can get boring -Some skillshots are hard, especially in Anarchy
@RyouuichiKun15 yes he does because he was the voice actor for wolverine in 'Wolverine and the X-Men' and grayson hunt's appearance is based off of wolverine
@jakixs its not that multiplayer should be second or third, its because multiplayer adds more value to the money. If you only do single player, then why not just download the freaking game. Why pay ???? You pay cause you want to access to internet . have some extra fun others can't. You are paying for the privilege of multiplayer which pirated people can't. Blizzard understood this therefore made Starcraft II multiplayer ONLY. Multiplayer is the best way to make money.
Part of it was piracy, part of it was "not meeting E.A's expectation" in terms of sales (it sold over a million copies, which apparently isn't good in E.A eyes), and part of it was an unannounced project Epic Games and People Can Fly wanted to do.
One of the best FPS games of 2010's I played. It's almost there. Just need to scrap out the regenerating health system and it's golden. Less context action, less movie'y shit, more shooting things! This game gets it right, unlike many MANY "modern military shooters" today. FPS was a great genre in 90's, based on skillful play and exploration. Today it's dumbed down to watching a movie and pressing one or two buttons to cause some funky explosion with some turret.
@WobblyBoy1031 I'm not complaining about those. Im saying those times in multiplayer when you get the requierments for a team skill shot and it dosent count.
there won't be a sequel in the near future, but Epic didn't said that there won't be a sequel at all.Momentarily, the developer of this game,People can Fly,are busy with another project.
I am not playing games very often and when i am playing them i play a few hours and they get very boring very fast. Last game that i played through was Modern Warfare. Bullestorm just glued me to my seat and i played it through in two days. Every single moment where i had nothing else to do i started bulletstorm and purely enjoyed it. It's fast paced, entertaining, beautiful and just great. It doesn't get boring, the story is fine (i watch movies or read a book for a story). It's a 9.5/10!
Oh and competitive multiplayer mode would be terrible in this game, I think they mode they had in the game was decent, but I do wish they had more unique game levels for Echo and Co-Op mode and larger ones for Co-Op the most...instead of the re-hash they had in echo's and co-op. I think if they refocus on real replay-ability and add even more features and scoring then Bulletstorm 2 will surely be another great game that hopefully will not be lost in a sea of bland FPS's.
Finally a stand out shooter that focuses almost purely on singleplayer that isn't some household name like Halo or Call of duty. Haven't seen that much effort put into single player since time splitters future perfect.
picked it up for like 20 dollars recently. It's a lot of fun. I enjoy the over the top old school shooter action, and hilarious tongue in cheek pisstaking dialogue. I think they are making fun of the over-earnestness of a lot of shooters these days. Bulletstorm reminds me of the good old days, like Wolfenstein and Doom, where games were all about gameplay, fun, over the top action, and humour
if i'm gonna be accurate i would give this game a 9.2 the good: the story is entertaining, the weapons and skillshots can be really creative, the music is epic, i personally thought that the dialogue was pretty snappy (but everyone has their own opinions), echoes mode is a great way to practice creative shooting skills, the characters were deeper than i expected, and the setpieces were varied the bad: the last quarter of the game was pretty repetitive because the first three quarters were varied
"Bulletstorm can get a little tedious here and there, it runs out of new tricks..." What the hell are you talking about!? It never runs out of new trciks, this game was EPIC!
This game never got the credit it actually deserved. It was quite innovative from a FPS perspective. And I actually found the dialog between the characters hilarious. It is quite over the top, but it was designed that way.
got this game and COD Ghost at the same time. after finish ghost I was like: "meh...", but this game that is 2 years older than Ghost is so much fun to play, the game mechanic, the story line..etc, everything was perfect. The humor is actually funny. there are cheesy moments here and there, but the game overall was really good. after finish the game I immediately look for the sequel, and of course, the sequel is canned :(
I didn't say there are no. I just said it's INCREDIBLY hard to find some. Plus Max Payne has been in production for a shit ton of time. Besides, about all games that come out lately are about 50 - 60 bucks and the guy was saying that you should want more than 7 - 8 hours for that money. The thing is that's the standard, 50 - 60 bucks for about 7 - 8 hours. He basically said we should want more. Which is pretty selfish.
Anyone here think this is one of the most underrated games of all time
Yes
I completely agree. So true. Same with fear 2 project origin.
Its funny how nearly everyone forgot that bulletstorm 2 was in devlopment but was canned so they could make gears of war judgement instead.........
alex duffy well i can say, judgement wasnt that good......

Never knew that

I'm dying for a sequel
sadly well never get a sequal because epic games canned its development it actually was being made until they pulled the switch on it
i actually cried when i realised this game was over and there was no sequel because i loved the game
coincidence, you have call of duty as your photo
ikr but at the time i had bulletstorm :D i think
i dont know how may times i burst laughing at this game

9 days left till the remaster!!we have a second chance with this franchies if it sells really really good we will finally get a sequal
alex duffy Is this game dead in ps3?
Sequel was released just now ! Its called Doom
Not even close. Doom was great but Bulletstorm offers over 100 ways to kill your enemies.
bulletstorm is 1000X better than doom 2016
To bad well never get ghe sequal this game needs.......
Why?
C.S. Ewens because this games ending demands a sequal...

thanks to torrentfags, we may not be seeing one
its 4.99 at gamestop now
This was literally one of my all time favorite games and still is
Bulletstorm can be described in one word BRILLIANT, I loved every minute of this game.
Fucking loved this game
Awesome review even though I still give it a 9.5 out of 10.
+XxSUGARSPARKxX 9.5?? They were being generous with 8.
Lrdvltr Why don't you like it?
+XxSUGARSPARKxX I didn't see much replayability other than for achievements. The nonexistent multiplayer or story didn't help either.
Lrdvltr For me, it was mostly about the gameplay, and it was definitely interesting seeing the interaction between Gray and Ishi as he slowly turned less and less human as the game progressed.

@MSS479 the guy who voiced dempsey voiced grayson hunt. The voice actors name is Steve Blum.
@asendimchev1996 bulletstorm isn't boring
@Rtv03 I'm hoping for a sequel too. The end really makes it feel like there will be one doesn't it?
great review.
@gamer7916 No, it is more Painkiller-ish, lots of enemies and nice weapon variation. What made you think of Gears of War?
@TheCommenter1337 yes, thats the same voice actor his name is steve blum.
you might also be hearing a little of spike spiegel, mugen from samurai champloo,
and tom from toonami

@jakixs
I agree- to a point.
The single player mode should be the core, but more shooters need 4 player couch co-op.
Does any game have that?!
I am getting frustrated with the game having black boxes at the top and bottom of the screen making the game not full screen is there a way to turn it off so I can enjoy full screen?
@Gearheadmk2 Note about skillshots: The ones that give you more points SHOULD be hard since you will have to put effort into doing them
@frostgiant7 you may have to wait a while but mass effect 3 is rumored to have such a co-op XD
I always put this one off but its 5 bucks on xbl right now. Seems worth it, i might also try the first mass effect and absolution, all together costing only $20
i have never understood the term popcorn shooter if someone could explain it please do

@manciuxl1 well. i have played this game and the review barely mentions the skillshots that are the core of the game and the idea that makes it fun to play.
I wish BulletStorm had a proper multiplayer set-up with team death matches and stuff
I loved this game.
My review: 9
+Great story
+Tounge-in-cheek, crude humour
+Anarchy is amazing with a good team
+No competitve multiplayer
-Short
-Echoes can get boring
-Some skillshots are hard, especially in Anarchy
Annnnd.. where is the sequel. i need one
I also have something to take away. there is no splitscreen multiplayer and no co-op campaign, which I think would have fit the game perfectly.
I heard Dempsey, "there cooking this stuff, unbeleivable!"
@RyouuichiKun15 yes he does because he was the voice actor for wolverine in 'Wolverine and the X-Men' and grayson hunt's appearance is based off of wolverine
this could have had great competitive 5v5 multiplayer.

IGN-ORE
if i'm gonna be accurate i would give this game a 9.2
the good: the story is entertaining, the weapons and skillshots can be really creative, the music is epic, i personally thought that the dialogue was pretty snappy (but everyone has their own opinions), echoes mode is a great way to practice creative shooting skills, the characters were deeper than i expected, and the setpieces were varied
the bad: the last quarter of the game was pretty repetitive because the first three quarters were varied
Currently $1.99 preowned at bestbuy, I think sale ends today though
"Bulletstorm can get a little tedious here and there, it runs out of new tricks..." What the hell are you talking about!? It never runs out of new trciks, this game was EPIC!
Hey guys I heard tank Dempsey form cod black ops in the video
same actor.
Joseph Ocasio i didnt know some actors from cod where in this game
Sulaiman Osman You'd be surprised who you'll hear in games.
Joseph Ocasio oh ok thanks for telling me that
It's weird herring these quotes and imaging Dempsey from boa zombies
I didn't know cod had badass energy-grapples to pull people, slo-mo takedowns or awesome sci-fi weapons.
This game never got the credit it actually deserved. It was quite innovative from a FPS perspective. And I actually found the dialog between the characters hilarious. It is quite over the top, but it was designed that way.
i dunno, i still cant decide.. is it worth the $5 on steam?
What other games that have a 4 barrel shotgun?
If you get in a lobby with good people, multiplayer can rock
got this game and COD Ghost at the same time. after finish ghost I was like: "meh...", but this game that is 2 years older than Ghost is so much fun to play, the game mechanic, the story line..etc, everything was perfect.
@asendimchev1996 Bulletstorm is not boring
Is the guy who does Dempsey the guy who does Gray?
