What content you guys want to see more of (gear review, car setup, expeditions/adventure, camping tips, etc)?? Leave me a comment below!
I want to see a weekend crown land camping voyage with both your FJ and your buddy's Landcruiser. Does he still have the '87?
We have one here: ua-cam.com/video/OspyaAbZibo/v-deo.html
But yeah we will be doing more this season for sure! And yes he still has the '87 ✌
Really appreciate the support!
@@stokedtour My pleasure. Keep up the good content, and happy truckin boys!
Hi friend 😊 I have an FJ and I’m looking to purchase the same roof top tent such as yours with the awning. What model do u have and where did u get it? Thanks for your help!
Overlanding is huge you were ahead of your time.
I also have a FJC and FJ60! Cheers!
Idea for you. At wood on wood or wood on plastic you can use a light coat of Kit Paste Furniture Wax in the flat can for lubricant. Great system you have. On the screw numbers ( 10-24 ect) these are machine screws less than 1/4" diameter and the 24-32 ect is the thread count per inch. These allow you to have strong smaller fasteners for attaching smaller items and materials together. Thanks again for sharing your video with us.
Haha amazing, finally I got an answer to that question! Also great tips
videos like these make me want to learn woodworking but i live in an apartment in the city so that's gonna be tough
it was hard for me when I lived in an apartment too lol
Hate the limitations of an apartment. Ended up being a nuisance to my buds by borrowing their garages on weekends. Their wives loved me
Intéressant !
Finally a good UA-cam video for fj cruiser!!!
Thanks mate!
Very professional build. Just need some LED lighting in the drawers that triggers when you open them ....
Now that’s an idea
Excellent build, great work. Ill have to do something similar with my FJ soon
Nice work, thanks for sharing it with us.
👍👍🔥🔥🔥
Cool editing !
Thanks!
Dope! Nice work, very functional.
Appreciate it!
Great breakdown, showing every step along the way. And the final product looks great!!!
Thank you my man!
This is really dope.. I totalled my FJ and am getting a new one. Id love to add some drawers to the back like this. Thanks for such a good video.
Thanks! Sucks to hear that it was totalled but glad you're getting a new one. If you need the dimensions and more build notes, check out part 2 where I go through it in more detail: ua-cam.com/video/YrSoC7tXu6o/v-deo.html
Awesome video mate!!!! I need to do mine
Yeah I wanna see Part 2!
Very helpful
This looks similar to mine on the FJ Cruiser forum. Nice job!
Sick shots and videography! Awesome soundtrack, really cohesive. Really informative... 10/10 ! Great work 👍🏻
Great work 👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much 😀
Damn Mang! Pretty Good Job!!!
Would love to see the write up and demensions please! Trying to finish this before the end of October 2020!
Yes sorry! Currently out west shooting footage for the expedition video, will get on that as soon as I get back!! In the meantime, this is the writeup that I referred to for the two bottom drawers: www.fjcruiserforums.com/threads/rear-cargo-drawer-build.151265/. Hope it helps!
Will be filming the build guide to this tomorrow so hang tight! Hoping to get it out by the end of the week, fingers crossed!
I think I'm gonna build a shallow back draw like your original drawers in my FJ.
That will given me some permanent storage for camp/makings gear without taking up too much load space. I will add a work surface for making sandwiches and a brew.
I think there is a RTT and a 270 shade coming too.
Great idea. Yeah definitely add the slide tables too, they really come in handy!
@@stokedtour Checked out the gallery from the Oz company Tanami. Looks like nice swag ,but like everything else I've looked at , probably bloody expensive. We have been to Whistler to ski 10 times, very jealous of your snow camping. Looking at an iKamper Mini and a QuickPitch shade. We are on the Gold Coast, planning on camping in the Snowies here for more hiking and MTB.
18:00 Shin Ramen, Fireball and Mac & Cheese? Your doing camping right!
Bahahaha seems like you speak from experience ✌
Grrat job!
Awesome built thank you for sharing love the video
thuy-duong USA
Glad you like it!
It will help me to learn from u sir
✌✌
You could do a nice epoxy on the slide outs that would make it easier to slide as well as keep clean if you wanted. Looks great though! How are you liking it a year out?
We are definitely on the same wavelength cause that’s exactly what I did a month or so after making them haha. You’re absolutely right about the ease of sliding and cleaning, plus it looks 10 times better. So I’ve had it for about 1.5 years now and I still love it. The three drawers and two quick working surfaces make any task so easy and clutter free. I go over some more of the stuff I discovered here if you are interested: ua-cam.com/video/YrSoC7tXu6o/v-deo.html
I'm planning to build a ice chest slide-out like you did for the FJ60. Can you tell me what you used for the plastic slides? Dimensions? Source? Thanks.
That is UHMW polyethylene, I got it from Lee Valley hardware in 4" wide by 24" long, 1/4" thick sheets. We then cut it down into strips of whatever size in the table saw. They sell it in pre-cut strips I think also, which can save you some effort.
@@dwong506 Awesome. Thanks for replying!
Yoyo long time listener, first time caller. Have you done any back country camping? Any recommendations for compact sleeping pads/mats? My spine hurts.
thanks for calling in and welcome to the show sheelios. Yes, I've done a lot of back country camping as well, and have used a range of sleeping pads. As for what is best for you in terms of comfort, it really depends on how much weight you're willing to carry, and how much money you want to spend. I recently did a coastal hike and used the MEC VectAir sleeping mat and it was very comfortable. At 1.2kg, it sits in the mid-to-high range for weight, and it sits in the middle of the range for cost at $140. I think this is the most comfortable one that I've used so far for hikes and backcountry. As a contrast, Thermarest sells an ultralight sleeping pad at only 430g and it costs $250. There may be small differences in comfort, but these are only ones that people use if they are hiking thousands of kms on a trip, so every gram counts. Hope this helps!
@@stokedtour thanks man!! Cant waot for your next video
How’s is rear visibility? That would be my greatest concern.
The build doesn't hinder the sightlines!
@@stokedtour very nice. I’ve been enjoying learning all about FJs. As a kid I always wanted one
Never look back. Look up, but never look back :).
Could you please share dimensions! I just got an FJ and would like to build something similar. Including the drawer system in the bottom please
Will be filming the build guide tomorrow! Hang tight!
Hey, I just subscribed, finished a similar project a while back. Do you have a link to those latches you and wanderlost used?? Thanks!
Thanks man! Here's the link to the latches I used: Amazon USA (amzn.to/3hU2sE7) Amazon Canada (amzn.to/3iWkxmA). Hope that helps! Not sure what the second thing is...? Autocorrect??
@@stokedtour hey, thanks! Wanderlost is another channel who built something very similar! Thanks!
ahhhh that's what you meant! Those two are awesome :)
Man you like markilplier
i feel blessed by this comment
I like the drawer system. Can you provide the dimensions and material list?
Thanks! Hang tight, I'll try to get something together 👍 Which drawer system though do you want the dimensions for??
Thanks! The fj!
@@stokedtour month later... ...Still waiting my dude.
Going to be filming the comprehensive build guide for this tomorrow, so hang tight! Hoping to have it out by the end of the week
@@stokedtour Thanks a mill! I'm having the hardest time removing the 2 d-rings in the back.
Again thanks!
Went to your website, write up for the drawers isn't there either.
What type of roof tent is that?
It's the James Baroud Evasion Rooftop tent
Do you have a link for the drawer latch?
These are the latches I used: amzn.to/3uh0t3N
@@stokedtour I found them after searching for the keyword you said "paddle latches". Great video btw, going to build it!
This would cost about $1593 in current American wood prices lol
😭😭😭
Is McDonald’s healthier there? Cuz that order hurts just hearing it
awesome! new subscriber digging your content. Do you have the blueprints for the setup? looking to build my setup this winter! ill be sure to tag you in the finished project !! Insta: its.mr.newman
Thanks! Here's the link to the two bottom drawers that I based mine off of: www.fjcruiserforums.com/threads/rear-cargo-drawer-build.151265/ . For the top section, I will be putting something together for that shortly! Just filming out west at the moment!
wokenstoked sweet thanks!
Where out west are you shooting?
Was out around the Kootenays in BC! Also, hang tight for the comprehensive build guide to this - I'll be filming it tomorrow, hoping to have it out by the end of week
