I personally loved that Scoots' wings stayed small honestly. Disabilities don't disappear with age after all. They're life long but in a cartoon they'll usually mask or magically heal it which often times can't be done in real life. I like that the show kept Scoots' disability, even as an adult. I feel like it's more important to accept a disability then to try to fix or cover it up. Especially for kids with disabilities.
To be fair, Lauren Faust once responded to a fan's inquiry stating that Scootaloo "hadn't figured it out yet" (and as such had nothing medically wrong with her). And when Jim Miller admitted that her wings not growing here was meant to indicate an actual disability, it included the caveat "fans are welcome to interpret things how they like". I interpret THAT to mean "We're trying to have it both ways".
Well it’s true wot they say ”kids, they want to grow up so fast and when they're older they wish they were kids again.” it's the never ending cycle of life
That would’ve been a lot more interesting ,at the end of the episode the CMC looks sad that they were kids again ,how about having the CMC and their sisters switch ages so they can see which age is tougher that would make a greater episode.
This episode may be the first time we see the CMC's as adults, but luckily it won't be the last time, and like always on a scale of 1 to 10 i give this episode a 7, and of course the song they sing in the episode was pretty good, but it's not as catchy as "Hearts As Strong As Horses"
I always hated when my mom would pull the "I'm your mother, I'm always right" or "I know everything" card on me as a kid when I could name 100 different things that she got wrong or didn't know. Even if she meant it as just a joke I remember it still annoying me. I like that the episode touched on that a lot!
There's one thing in the episode that Jenna bugs me with the continuity the CMC said that they needed a grown up to go on the train but in previous episodes they have been on the train without an adult supervision that's just my little nitpick with the continuity
YEEEEEEESSS!!!!! FINALLY! THANK YOU, THESPIO!!! The whole concept of Scootaloo's wings not growing with the rest of her meaning she still had her inability to fly never left the back of my head throughout the episode. It made want to bash my head into the wall screaming "OH COME ON!!! REALLY?!" I was hoping and praying that maybe as she aged up her wings would grow long enough so she's, at the VERY LEAST, be able to glide, but nooooooooo. Poor Scoots. 😔 But, I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught it. So, thanks again. And good luck to you and your lady on your horror film.
10:42 Now that you mention it, according to Jim Miller, this was written as a Season 5 episode before it got pushed to Season 9. So yeah, not quite on the mark but it explains a lot.
My personal guess is that they probably had the script to this or the basic story at least already written down as something they wanted to do but for some reason or another my personal guess being the writers thought it would fit better in the last season, Ended up not getting released until much later because like it or hate it the last CMC Episode with scootaloos parents definitely felt like it was a wrap up and celebration of the CMC more than this was. it wasn't perfect but it felt thematically like it was going for a good final note. this episode is still good though, id just switch the releases.
this was a nice reaction to the ep. and i give a hoofs up on as well. Looking forward to the next Ep big Mac Q. i saw that Ep and i would be Fanboying like a Girl too.
Ok Voice, I don't care what you have to do, but the Big mac question is obliviously the episode that Thespio's wife & your Girlfriend need to take part in. as for this episode, I am agreement of this being one of the episodes that should have been in season seven. heck, I say that it be a good way to be before "The Kart before the Ponies" episode since it give reason why the CMC acted a bit more like adults than the adults themselves.
Another piece of media that shows the "Maturity of the Body =/= Maturity of the Mind" was in Thundercats with Lion-O a young boy who went into stasis as a child but awoke in the body of an adult and throughout S1's run his journey as a character was to grow and mature. It was a great way for the writers to give the audience, and kids, a character they could identify with, without being a blank slate for them to project themselves onto and helped to justify why Lion-O needed to learn some of the lessons he did during the shows run. all of this culminating to Lion-O reaching maturity of the mind during the 5 Part story arc of his Anointment Trials, where he had to best each of the Thundercats in their own abilities but also using his mind to make decisions that he needed to that would aid him, once that was done Lion-O had proven that he is not only the true Lord of The Thundercats, but that he is no longer the little boy he was when he first came to Third Earth.
I'm guessing the episode with Scootaloo's aunts was supposed to air AFTER this one but something changed. Not showing the aunts was a missed opportunity for sure. I'm SO glad Scootaloo stayed disabled because it's more realistic.
I’m confused one thing that confused me was why don’t the cmcs know how to use a train I mean they know how trains work they been on one before so why don’t they know how to use it
it's an 8.5/10 Super Mushrooms, the CMC can be critical from listening to Spur and Biscuit, which is dishonorable to a grown up, but at least I'm liking that episode, you three are started to go fanboying on Big Mac and Sugar Belle's wedding
Welp, better prepare ourselves of the next review of the next episode. Cause those girly Eeeeees are just the beginning. I don’t mind this episode, the set up was messy and some other characters, like Scoot’s Aunts should’ve gave a reason not to go so there wouldn’t be more holes in this set up.The grownup CMC designs are good, Sweetie’s is the best imo. And yeah, this should’ve switched with the other CMC episode.
what made Amy's story a bit more tragic is that the wish that Amy used was going to bring Sally's mother out of her coma. which makes Amy look WAY to selfish for her use of it
Hey Voice, sorry to rain on your little talk at 5:47 but Archie Sonic Comics are not canon now and I think Sega would probably want to not talk about how Amy became 12 years-old. But yeah, this episode was okay.
So about scootaloos wings Since this was a rushed spell that altered theyre age from fouls to mares instantly its still possible her wings could still grow I mean apple bloon still has her bow surely it wouldn't be there when she does grow up Also Iove you guys squeeing for Big mack and sugar belle XD there was one moment made scream of joy thats all im gonna say 12:09 XD god you guys

Wait. Amy Rose is a kid in an adult/older teenager's body? 😐 Oh, sweet Celestia, I'm never going to be able to look at her infatuation with Sonic in Sonic X and the games the same way ever again! 😱
@@spearmintpony7105 To the Archie universe...yes they are. To all other Sonic universes, including the games, X, Fleetway, and Boom...you are correct, they are not canon. I really didn't like this episode, it was too predictable, and there were too many problems that were fucking aggravating. The CMC not asking any of the adults that were actually at and going to Appleoosa making the entire episode fail on its premise. The moral was blatantly shoved in our faces, and my god that magic plant is such a bad fucking plot device. The song and Daniel Ingram saved this episode from being the worst of the season. I for one am glad this is the last bad episode in the series.
This episode wasn’t bad , but I disliked it, don’t get me wrong the-moral is good telling that kids can’t do everything that adults do but on the other hand the CMC I’m more mature than you think are you telling me that the Fillies that can literally host an entire camp without any adult supervision can’t go on a train, and plus we had the other episodes where is show apple bloom baby by Apple Jack showing the Apple Bloom is capable of taking care of herself ,we also had an episode with sweetie Belle seeing how she mature and grew up,and this is like season one CMC ,I can understand this taking place in season one ,but why not have it happen to a different character. this is like regression .taking a step back instead of taking a step forward .the CMC have known to be really capable of different Situations like helping trouble shoes find this place in the world while the adults were scared of him and wanted to lock him up ,so I think this is a step back ,or the writers didn’t look at the previous episodes of the CMC .Continuity errors are golden.
1) I like the moral but the execution was as sloppy as Rainbow Falls. Could've been better. 2) Someone give Scootaloo prosthetic wings. I already thought up of two designs. One involving piezoelectric motors (like the one Tank has) and clockspring actuators, and the other using an array of hydraulics. All that's left is figuring out how much Wingpower we can generate and how much Scoots weighs to establish the necessary wingspan.
