  • Welcome back to our channel! In today's video, we delve deep into the world of line thickness within Ruby software and its intricate relationship with color in determining the final laser reaction. We'll explore the behavior of different thicknesses and colors of lines when sending them to the prepare screen and ultimately to the laser for processing.
In our demonstration, we make use of squares and circles with thick and thin lines. The thin black and red lines are 0.1 inches, while the thick black and red lines are 0.15 inches. Interestingly, the only difference lies in the color.
When these varying thicknesses of lines are sent to the prepare screen by selecting 'Create a Job', you may notice that the thick red lines will appear thin again when sent to the prepare screen. This intriguing occurrence is attributed to the materials parameter viewing the color red as a cut path, regardless of the line thickness. The consequence is that the laser views this color as a cut path, representing it as a thin line in the prepare screen.
Once this type of file is sent to the laser for processing, the black lines will engrave just like the original design. However, since the red is viewed as a cut path, any thickness will appear thin and will simply cut the design with the laser. This is a result of the parameter being set to cut red in this particular example.
By understanding the nuances of line thickness in Ruby software, you can better predict how the laser will react, leading to more precise control and improved results in your projects. Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting out in laser processing, this video serves as a comprehensive guide to mastering line thickness and color associations in Ruby software.
