In this video, we will guide you through the powerful Prepare screen in Trotec Ruby software, where you can fine-tune and optimize your laser jobs for production. With a built-in materials database, sizing and layout tools, and precise positioning options, the Prepare screen is your gateway to efficient laser job processing.
Identified by the target icon at the top, the Prepare screen can be accessed by selecting the icon or choosing the "Create Job" button from the design screen. Once in the Prepare screen, you'll find two primary tabs: Designs and Jobs. The Jobs tab contains files that are ready to be laser processed, while the Designs tab stores files that have not been assigned to the laser yet.
In the Prepare screen, you have various tools at your disposal. The main toolbar provides options for creating new jobs, importing files, saving jobs, and calculating job time. The selection tool allows you to select, move, rotate, scale, and size jobs and designs. You can also edit designs by clicking the pencil icon, which opens the design page for further modifications.
Arranging multiple copies of the same design is made easy with the array feature, which automatically arranges designs into rows. Drawing tools such as lines, circles, and squares can be used directly on the Prepare screen. Undo and redo buttons are available for convenient editing, and zooming options help you focus on specific areas of your project.
Alignment and distribution of design elements can be achieved using the Align and distribute tool, ensuring a clean and professional layout. The snapping tool automatically aligns objects to the edges or center of other objects or the design page.
Additional features in the Prepare screen include the ability to lock the laser head position for direct USB-connected laser machines, enabling precise control. The grid option helps with accurate placement, while the Vision Design and Position (VDP) camera allows for live camera positioning.
For machines equipped with a print and cut camera, you can activate the camera for precise processing. The rotary tool enables rotary processing by entering the product diameter. The 3D preview box provides a realistic simulation of the design.
The rubber stamp tool allows you to convert designs into mirrored and inverted rubber stamp files, with additional options for angle selection and links for easy stamp removal. Keyboard shortcuts, notifications, and job naming and tagging options are also covered.
