I was hit head on by an early 90s Chevy Suburban going 40+ MPH (aka a tank on wheels) while stopped in my 2017 Jeep Wrangler unlimited and it basically saved my life. The Jeep was totaled but took the impact like a champ. I went out the next week and replaced it with the another 2017 Wrangler.
I can't believe they smashed that wall up like that. That things a rock!!
I like the way the crash test dummy looks like Braveheart.
Haha
I think the real life safety tests are very variable and relative. We own jeep wrangler and we unfortunately involved in some major accidents, surprisingly enough after the accident we drove the car home with minor scratches while the other cars were crumbled like coke cans. Jeep wrangler is safe car
nope , you are counting very small crashes, it isnt safe, not only the fact it can rollover easy (like as some suvs) but in a very hard crash it isnt a very safe car defenitely .....
My 2019 jeep wrangler saved my life I was hit by a big Chevy pick up , I was unbelted, I know I regret not wearing my seat belt every day when I wake up in pain, anyhow I was on a country 2 lane road where the speed limit was 50mph I was doing 55 maybe a little more. My jeep took the impact like a champion, I however did not handle the impact so well I broke the entire right side of my body and was in the hospital for months along with being told I may not walk again, ended up doing about 4 months in that wheelchair before I walked, the jeep itself although the frame was twisted and bent it took the impact so well looking at the jeep you would never have guessed how bad the accident truly was, my jeep barely crushed it looked as if I hit a pole or tree, the point is if it wasn't for my jeep being so well made & tough I wouldn't be here, I still have a limp and can't bend my arm properly but I'm alive and so are my 3 kids who were also in the jeep. I truly believe if my jeep wasnt so tough and crushed like a can of coke like some other vechiles i probably wouldn't be here to type this.[[ P.s wear your seat belts they really do save lives 😆]]
Good thing to test the safety of my dream car.
check iihs
SAME I want a jeep wrangler soooo bad
In IIHS’ test, the Jeep Wrangler two-door and the 4-door did not do well.Well the 4 -door did well but the side impact test rated marginal and the whiplash test rates marginal.
It appears to me the front wheel/tires were the most significant buffer in this frontal crash.
Why were the front seats moved ALL THE WAY to the front?
Good question....
They always are.
…il muro, non si é danneggiato 👍💪
It seems like the front didn't crush as much as other cars.
I feel like if the front end crushed a little more (not to the point where the occupant compartment is compromised) it might absorb more energy and the restraints systems would be more effective.
Look at where the A Pillar meets the roof.. there is definitely some damage...
its because the jeep has an actual frame underneath, they're not uni-bodies like normal cars are
@@joshua4620 True. They are built quite differently than normal cars. I guess the Jeep's frame is stiffer.
@@thatrandomoshawott3427 indeed they are. lol the disadvantage of a solid frame underneath the crash affects the driver more than the car. in the video, you can see how little impact was absorbed by the vehicle it all went straight to the drive causing fatal injuries
Does NHTSA not measure the forces on the ankles and feet?
Leg airbags should exist in all cars
Some car makers had leg airbags like in 2015 all of them had them and ever since 2018 their is no more leg airbags for unknown reason
The NHTSA testing is subpar. Look at the IIHS testing of vehicles instead.
It says 2021 but there no 2021 yet unless it's been testing since 1 year ago.

Windshield didn’t even break. I bet you could still drive it home too.
I know, it’s great how it passes on the force of the crash to the occupants!
If you are not injured or dead and if the engine is not damaged you can
@@TransDerwinOverdrive There was plenty of crumple, but it depends. A big thick steel bumper like many Jeeper have will probably smash most other vehicles.
I wish Chrysler would go back to the AMC name Jeep is not cheap anymore it's never been a Jeep since they took the AMC name away
That's a little harsh. I had a two Rubicon Jeep TJ's, and I don't know how much more "Jeep" it could be....
I have no idea how can they sell a product like this in 2019
Because off road car.
@@beardashcamsdash1696 off road or on road the driver decides that! This car had 1 star from Euroncap what is your opinion? Majority of people use this car on road!
@@attorney8452 Can u give me a link about that pls

I didn’t buy one because it was safe
Non fatemi vedere stè cose, che ho ancora 3 anni e mezzo di rate, e lho lavato ieri…. (Stamattina, ovviamente, piove….)
1 star out of five euroncap.
only because it didn't have any driver assistance on the model they tested, yet it is offered.
Why ?
Steve 17123124 the driver assistance packages were late availability on the new wranglers. Even today, most people are opting out of getting them. EURONCAP penalizes cars for not having it... that’s why it gets a 1 Star. NOT because the car was unsafe or the passengers got injured.
@@andyr4653 Ugh no. It got 1 star because it failed passenger protection miserably and people would have gotten severely injured. It's a flimsy piece of shit tin can. Look at the passenger results here: www.euroncap.com/en/results/jeep/wrangler/34192
It clearly states 4 stars. ****. Incorrect and ignorant response.
Who is looking this in 2027?
They sold as many as they could before this info was released. I heard bad things about the 2019/20 Jeep Wranglers. They don't care about your safety and I beat the Gladator is just as unsafe.
Love mine and 4 STARS isn’t bad for a off road vehicle!!
@@mattmercer3632 Well true,.But most people don't drive them off road.
Mr.carrottop66 they should. Then they can enjoy seeing thing most people will never see. Just tread lightly!
@@mattmercer3632 my question to you is how often do you drive your jeep off road?
@@mattmercer3632 makes no sense, then why build a vehicle like this if it was 'orginally' made for off road driving? These things on the highway is like running with a open parachute... They create alot of wake turbulence and drag at speeds over 45mph. These vehicles have one of the lowest mpg ratings, yet one of the highest drag coefficient numbers ever created. Plus the fact they have always had a high center of gravity, making these vehicles so easily to be involve of a roll over accident. They are simply overpriced, poorly built recreational vehicles. They are not practical or reliable by any means.
These guys can’t drive
That's becuase they're crash dummies, which is use fir the crash test.
Quite literally, they cant drive.
