Sport S as with all models have same touchscreen display with wireless CarPlay. It also has All safety features including side airbags. Adding the Skytouch roof and Convenience package adds heated seats, steering wheel and autostart which makes it basically a Sahara for thousands less. As far as looks its has painted fender flares and some really sporty wheels.

    The steel bumper group is NOT that good a deal. You can _easily_ find steel bumpers for under $1000 (each). And a harbor freight winch with synthetic rope is like $700 and is nearly as reliable as a Warn winch. You can easily save $1000 over the steel bumper package by buying them and installing them yourself. The only reason I'd spend the extra money to get it from the factory is if you absolutely want the warranty, or if you're handicapped and can't install the bumpers yourself (very simple install - bolts and hand tools is pretty much it for bumpers).

    My Jeep wrangler choices are now down to the Sport and Willy’s models with limited options. Also I would go with the 2 door. I like the sarge green color because it goes with the black wheels better. I miss the tan seat option though. I not going to be picky with the engine. I can live with the turbo if I get the automatic. But I an not going to spend the substantial cost for the 4xe.

    I really want to get a Jeep but as you say, the pricing is getting ridiculous. Saw a 2024 Sport S 2 door that just landed here in my parts yesterday, Auto, hardtop, Earl paint, nice big 1941 sticker on the hood, a couple other options. $62k in my country plus fee's and taxes, that'll put it over $70k and then there's still financing charges on top of that since I don't have a spare $70k in cash burning a hole in my pocket.
    Absolute craziness.
    Whats worse is everytime the price goes up on the new ones, the used ones follow suit so even the 2020's are going for around $40k in my area, plus or minus a bit depending on model/mileage. It's frustrating.

I’ll happily email it to you, but you can also contact Stellantis customer service and they’ll send it to you as well. As much as they're charging now, you'd think all models would come standard with LED lights as well as no charge for an automatic transmission. The new Grand Cherokees come standard with automatic transmission and LED's with no upcharge (even the Compass) so why do us Wrangler guys have to pay extra for it? They have every right to do whatever they want but just leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.

    Its not pronounced Willys, but pronounced Willis.
    For 2024, Jeep made the Premium Soft Top standard (this used to be a $695 option) and dropped the cheaper vinyl soft top. Nothing against a hard top, but most people will take it off once and find out what a huge ordeal it is to remove it and then you have to figure out where/how to store the hard top. Even in cold climates, the premium (twill) soft top is fine and much much easier to raise/lower the top in minutes vs the hard top.
    The larger 12.3” screen is a huge upgrade over the old 5”, 7” and 8.4” screens in previous JLs.
    For 2024 Jeep also upgraded the seats with better materials and cushions.
    Convenience group for $1995 is a deal for all you get and I would not pass on that.
    To me, a base Sahara with no options seems to be the best deal for 2024

While manual locks and windows can break, its normally due to abuse or misuse, not age. Respect your vehicles and keep then serviced and they can last way longer then the norm. Power locks like to snap lever arms, power windows like to chew up regulators. All these things would be felt before they break on manual control options. Stop, don't force it, lubricate or adjust what's needed and no need to order/replace new parts.

    • @IanNubbit
      @IanNubbit Рік тому +1

      @@oneslackr People (Like me) associate (for good reason) power/automatic options with issues and failures. I hate auto trans, yes alot of the time they work just fine, but you have no control, you pick one of 4-5 options, and it decides what to do with that input (on modern vehicles almost entirely computer regulated at that). Power windows and locks at least for me, I see fail all the time, not everyone will fail, but the ONLY failed manual variants are from abuse or neglect. I see destroyed motor gears, most commonly the regulator just tears into spaghetti, with power, you won't know this is coming besides maybe the window goes up or down a little slow, with manual, you'd feel that resistance and know something's not going right well before failure. Manual locks all the same, those lock actuators are strong, they need to be, so if a cable is binding, it's just going to snap it or the snap the latch assembly holding the cable. Then you end up with that buzzing sound when you hit the lock button (super common on Grand Caravan's/Town & Country's for example.) Some people like the "For life, no service" style of vehicles that are being made now, they like the simpliciaty. From someone who works on them for a living, I hate it. Consumers enjoy the throw away aspect of cars. After 100k miles on basically any car being made now, it's either a ticking time bomb of powertrain failure waiting to happen, or the available list of parts, or the cost of those parts and the price of labor along with the numerous special tools and software licenses needed just to install simple parts (Like a fricken windshield) put it completely out of the realm of repair over replace. It sucks, but it's the world we live in. Some modern FCA products, If I replace a window motor, I have to have access to dealer software to reset codes, calibrate the new motor and it's travel, along with the fact the motor is closer to the $1,000 range. Long story short if for some reason you actually read this whole thing, I can fix what is simple, manufacture have made basically all electronics items over engineered and I'd rather just not have it. Even wrangler do stupid crap like have 2 different door latch sensors, on the same door, so if one fails, it lets you know, that you have to replace the whole latch, oh, you'll also have a check engine light in the meantime, start/stop won't work, and if it's an automatic, auto park will slam you into park when you go to take of 3 times before allowing you to actually drive away. For a door latch. This is why I don't want any of it. Even pulled out the door harness completely in out JL and JT (with manual locks and windows), because we don't want to ever have to deal with it.

    Disadvantages of the 4xe are that the batteries take up a big chunk of cargo space. It’s great for around town, but for off roading and longer trips I don’t think it’s the best option. I just saw an article where Stellantis has paid Tesla $2.5 billion in the last two years for "Credits" because Tesla doesn't make gas cars and Stellantis does. That is insane. The credits are given to Tesla (and others) for free and Ford, GM and Stellantis have to buy carbon credits because they are producing cars that use more fuel than the government likes. That is insane. That is part of the reason prices have gone so high.
