A great person to analyse would be a korean singer called "SoHyang". She's is literally insane and now in her 40s she's still getting better!

As an actor role playing while singing helps me with my inhibitions. This is a great tool for me as people tend to watch you sing because you’re an actor so I put on my alter ego self and sing with gusto. Great to know that a Goddess like Beyoncé is like us mortals here on earth. Thanks Justin !! Great video great lesson in life. You’re awesome brother😍😍

Every where I look, I see voice teachers talking about forward placement (nasal cavity). Yet, that's not what I hear in a soulful voice. Are they using forward placement (not the best term I know)? If forward placement is the way to go, then why doesn't Aretha and Beyonce, etc sound like broadway singers? I'm seriously questioning the religion of forward placement. Can you shed some light on this?

You know, one thing that happens all the time with many cartoon characters is their standard pitch may be on the lower side but it rises straight into a mixed voice and sometimes even headvoice and falsetto. Especially when they get angry or intense. It’s just the louder and more intense characters get the higher the pitch ends up rising. It’s like a conventional pattern

But Tina Turner has more depth. Tinas voice is coming from the heart and from the body -. with very much soul. Beyonces voice comes more from the throat and the head. She does not have so much depth and soul. Beyonce is technical very good - but the soul seems to be be hiden behind the technology.
