I take care of my glasses, and by no means has Crizal proven to me to be better than any other the standard coatings I’ve had in the past. I still get scratches and smudges, and honestly, the smudges are a little harder to clean than other coatings.

The biggest weakness of Crizal lenses is to get lots of fine scratches on minimal use which makes it unusable in long run.

I have been having issues with my glasses always being so dirty! and having to clean them all the time but I am getting a pair of glasses with crizal and transition xtractive and I have never in my whole life been so happy and excited to get a new pair of glasses to adapt to

I used original crizal lenses two times. But scratches/smudge are developing even after well maintained.
What kind of bullcrap is this, @1:00 he presses his thumb side wards on both the lenses,but @1:06 it becomes straight? for water test the ordinary lens seems to be flat, for the dust he doesn't even touch the dust for the crizal lens. and for the scratch test, come on they change the whole frame

I currently have crizal lens and I didn't order them by choice. My optometrist uses them by default. I received my glasses with the Crizal card and lens wipe so I got curious and googled it. I literally just washed my car with these lens, some back spray from the jetted nozzle hit the lens and I could immediate see the water had bead up, as if I had used Rain-X. I shook my head just a little bit to break the surface tension and the water ran off just like that. Where as my old lens the water had to be wiped off and the water smeared like crazy.

I see a couple of things wrong with this video. 1.He touched the lenses TWICE with his thumb, and in the jumpcut, only one print is shown. Who's to say it wasn't filmed at a different time? 2. In the dust test, he touches the lens to the pile of dust on the "normal" lens, and holds it further up when it's crizal's turn. I get that it's an ad for their brand, but anyone does else have any input on how bias this video is?

Crizal doesn't have good lenses. They have good video editors.
In my experiance with Crizol is that they affect the clarity of the lense. I just got new glasses without Crizol. My old pair had Crizol. My prescription is the same. And I can see so much better. Everything is more clear without the Crizol.
I noticed with Zeiss individual wipes on Crizal that it smears smudges around & has to have a polishing cloth to remove the residue.I asked the doc best way to keep em clean he just recited what Crizal directions say.I wanted to know about times I'm not near dish soap,warm water & a Crizal cloth.Never paid so much for glasses in my life.I also noticed ceiling light reflections on the inside of the lenses are pronounced & green,took some getting used to..I'll see if paying more really pays in the near future,
+Tjfreak well, what did you really expect when you clean something in a way it is really not supposed to be cleaned with? I mean, you probably don't wax a car with ear wax, right? For me, I never clean my lenses with any sort of cloth, only in ultrasonic bath and they are scratch and smudge free for years! Do you get Forte or Alize? The coatings (Forte and Alize are different coatings) are different in the way they are layered (tiny, tiny, a micron thick coatings) and forte has the scratch resistant as the layer just beneath the top (smudge resisting) layer, Alize has that tough coating all the way on the bottom. And becuse the layers are so very thin and tiny, and the smudge resistant layer is the top one, if you clean them with a sweater or something, you can kinda easely scratch that tefflon surface off. I have worked with lenses, and I can say that Forte is better than Alize because the tough couting is just below the top one, and for Alize, after years of use, I have seen a very small "indent" where all the anti-glare, anti-static and other good layers are just scratched off due to excessive cleaning or excessive cleaning with the wrong cloth.
Lenses aren't magical things that will resist and last forever. Forte IS worth the money, but you have to take care of them and think about this in the future.
A lot of people wipe their lenses with their sleeves (sweather, shirt, whatever) and then wonder why they loose that smudge resistance very fast- those materials will scratch off the layers very quickly. A collegue of mine has Prevencia and she also NEVER wipes them, only in ultrasonic bath (they cost something around 30 euros- quite a good investment to be honest, as they last for years upon years).
Also, Forte is not even close to the expensive lenses, but it has a lot of good. For example. if you look at the 3 most common coatings (Trio, Alize and Forte), there are significant increases in smudge resistance and anti-stick. If you are wearing glasses and applying hair spray, with Trio- you won't be able to clean them off, with Alize you will have to clean it bit and with Forte - sure, you will have to wipe it off, but it just doesn't stick.

Just got my eyeglasses with crizal sapphire HR lens today, but they don’t have fog ID, though they gave me cert of authentication card. Did they remove the fog id?
CRIZAL IS SIMPLY THE BEST EVER! I have been using Crizal since the '90's when it was first introduced. I don't understand the negative reviews. If you are having problems, maybe you have an inferior coating other than Crizal, but was told it was Crizal. I got lazy and bought glasses from Lenscrafters (which has their own garbage teflon-bullshit coating) and it broke down (and was not smudge or very scratch resistant). Crizal is practically BULLETPROOF! I just picked up my Prevencias today and can't wait to get another! (No, I do not work for the company). You get what you pay for.
Almost all of the negative reviews here seem to be from somewhere like India and a lot of them ask about authenticity cards. Seems there there are a lot of fake Crizal in other countries, that’s probably the reason for their disappointment

my crizal lenses spider webbed in the sun. glad to hear theyre scratch and smudge resistant. they smudge more than regular lenses by far and i guess they cant take any sort of heat either. im so mad

This video seems mostly true. Except for the smudges, which I get a ton of. And of course I don't think I will try out steel wool on my glasses but so far I don't have any scratches but I have certainly been more careful this pair and try to only clean with lens cloths or a clean t-shirt. I do not think the polarization was added to my lenses correctly though, as I see a lot of reflection on water.
I do want to add that the Crizal lens cloth I received is amazing though, it has this plush, wet feel and cleans my glasses very well, much better than the other random lens cloths that I have collected over the years. I am going to order a bunch of these cloths since they are so great, the key to keeping your glasses clean is an abundant access to these cloths (so I think). I want one by my bed, by my desk, in my cars and in my backpack.
They do smudge and my coating on glasses is breaking up. I did receive a card stating I rec'd authentic Varilux with Crizal. The provider can't explain why the coating is coming off. He basically told me I should get new lenses. Essilor (Varilux rep) told me that Crizal is not a coating and should have not worn off. I guess I as taken advantage of by provider. No way to tell in the US is you receive authentic Crizal. Shameful!
I hate the green reflection that’s in my lenses. I wish they would have told me that before I purchased the lenses. I’ve had glasses my whole life and have never experienced green glare from the light.

Hi, i bought new Crizal Prevencia i wann to know how to test originality of this lenses? . For EX. for Crizal UV, FUV, A2 lenses fog mark will come for Prevencia i think no fog marks. then how to test its originality????????

I don't know about you guys but I don't like the way the crizal prevencia lenses I got reflects so much purple light. Your eyes look purple quite often. It might benefit your eyes but it doesn't look so good.

What are the scratch like appearances seen inside the lenses?
Do you people know the difference between Resistant and Proof? These coatings are NOT smudge and scratch proof and they don't claim to be. No matter how soft the cloth any wiping of the surface causes friction, which removes dirt/smudges AND a little bit of the surface layer coating. How quickly the damage is done depends on the quality of the cloth.
For the cost of these coatings ... what is a $30 USD ultrasonic cleaner? If they stretch the life of your coatings 1 year the unit pays for itself.
Their ad saying that their lenses are better compare to others . But to tell you the truth, ordinary lens has no difference with their lenses.
Best thing about them is,when u drive in nighttime/daytime without getting your eyes blinked with incoming car's light flashes or with sunlight....and if they protect u from UV light,that's a protection from cataract & macular degeneration....so if I get these benefits,who gives a damn about smudges and fogging✌️ cmmon fellas have some abstract thinking,learn to balance the benefits n losses

I had a crizal lens not by choice. My eye doctor got it for me. Honestly, they lasted me 3 years before I had to change. I put these lenses through a lot. I missed them. If you ever downgrade you will know how bad other lenses can be. LOL.

Not worth the money. My previous glasses had Crizal and they smudged terribly... and were nearly impossible to fully clean! I also wasn’t impressed with the anti-glare. The water repellent properties weren’t any better either. Honestly, ever other pair of non-Crizal glasses I’ve had have out performed this garbage. (And yes, I had Crizal Prevencia)

crizal lenses too gets scratches and this company is advertising about that it is scratch and smudge resistant but comapny is making a big fool of us because i have recently buyed a spectacle and within 5 months of buying it their are many scratches in it.
They forgot about one of the most known annoyance of wearing glasses. FOGGED UP LENSES! They're is nothing more annoying than coming in from the cold winter and your glasses fogging up. EVERY TIME! Might as well not even wear them at that point because you can't see either with or without them! And as someone who has worked in restaurants, this happens when you go in and out of the walk-in freezer. If you can make eyeglasses that don't fog up, then I will be more incline in buying your brand!

Sorry to say too expensive and not worth at all. Just save your money and go for regular vision. They are not smudged free and the lens will not give you a clear vision because it has slightly amber/reddish color it's own.

I just washed my crizal lenses and in less than 2 mins they are covered in dust and fibers. The static is actually stronger on theses "anti-static" lenses than any others I have ever tried for way less money. Crizal is overpriced, hyped, garbage.

This demonstration video is a blatantly dishonest if you pay attention to what he's doing. He treats each lens differently. Pushing one lens into the particle pile and just hovering the other lens over top.
Carefully pooling a large drop of water on one lens and dispersing smaller droplets on the other lens. Just be honest, it's a good coating, just be honest about what it does and doesn't do. Peace
