    Best looking bmw ever. In my opinion. I have a f30, something about the way the F series cars are shaped are just beautiful to me.

      Totally agree. The G series cars look a little “suit and tie” the F series cars have a gangster edge to them.

    Very informative, I had never seen a 523 before so it was interesting to learn about it. I am planning on buying a 535i xdrive soon and this video helped a lot. Great video.

      Thanks for watching man. We don’t get the 535 as an xDrive here in Singapore. Just rear wheel. But I hear the G30 generation 540 xDrive is a wonderful car.

    Will the follow up video be coming soon? Appreciate the insights of owning one of these! Most of the reviews online are shifted towards the diesel variant or the 3.0L turbo 😅

    Thank you for the video. Very helpful information. Could you share where to get those Bilstein B4s shocks? Or you have a place to recommend for the change? I have the same model F10 as yours and my shocks needs a change. Thankful to have come across your video.

      Hey man! Glad you found the video useful. Are you in SG or Malaysia. If you’re in SG, most workshops have access to it as they’ll just get it from Eng Soon who is a stockist for Bilstein. Some people just buy them from Eng Soon direct, but I prefer to do it through my mechanic as sometimes there may be other things that need replacement as well (e.g. end links, bump stops, etc…)

      @koilam13 9 місяців тому

      @@roadpilgrim Hey, really grateful for the reply! I am in SG. Could you recommend your mechanic to me please? So I can ask them for the quote directly and know how much it will cost me to do everything. In fact, my upper & lower arm bars needs a change as well. So might as well do everything if the price is right.

      @@koilam13 hey man. I got mine done at Garage Hypermax over on Frankel Avenue. They aren’t the cheapest, but I use them cause it’s near my place. You can ask them for a quote and see if it works for you. But tbh plenty of other places can do this. I think Auto Kinetics does a lot of Bilstein installs too.

      I installed Bilstein B4s which are meant to be the OEM equivalent replacements. But they are firmer and overall more comfortable in my opinion.

    How much did u spend to repair ur car once u took over? Im planning to get a COE 523i but unsure abt repair costs

    • @roadpilgrim
      @roadpilgrim  Рік тому +1

      Haha I was about to make a video about this soon. But since you asked, my car is sitting on about 150,000km mileage, and I have spent about $10k - $12k over the past 1.5 years getting the car in shape. Major cost factors include fixing my engine oil leak, changing all my shock absorbers, changing my ECU which got fried, as well as changing my transmission solenoid valves and valve body. It sounds like a lot, but it’s important to note that these are all things that any old car would be subjected to. After the repairs, the car is absolutely wonderful to drive.

    Just curious as to how you would compare the f10 with the e60 in terms of the driving experience?

    • @roadpilgrim
      @roadpilgrim  Рік тому

      Hey man! Thanks for the question - it’s a really great one. For starters, I think the two key differences between the cars is that the F10 has electric steering and runs the 8 speed ZF transmission, whereas the E60 has hydraulic steering and runs the 6 speed ZF transmission.
      I think this leads to the F10 being more usable around town. It feels easier to lug around town speeds and also easier to drive. It’s also more refined in general and is a very very well insulated car.
      The E60 is probably feels more organic to drive, and has a more authentic road feel.

    • @roadpilgrim
      @roadpilgrim  Рік тому

      In a nutshell, I think the F10 is generally more well rounded as a daily driver and the 8 speed works extremely well with the car. However, if you’re after authenticity and road feel, it’s hard to ignore the appeal of the hydraulic steering found in the E60.

    • @blahblahblahhahaha8897

      @@roadpilgrim Thanks for the extensive reply. Did you consider the E60 back then when looking to purchase your car?

    • @roadpilgrim
      @roadpilgrim  Рік тому

      @@blahblahblahhahaha8897 To be honest I did not really consider the E60 as there weren’t many good used units at the time of the purchase. F10s are very common where I am, so it was much easier to get my hands on one.
