Far Cry 5 is an action-adventure first-person shooter video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Toronto and published by parent company Ubisoft for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is the eleventh installment and the fifth main title in the Far Cry series. It was released on March 27, 2018.
Similar to its predecessors, Far Cry 5 is an action-adventure first-person shooter set in an open world environment which the player can explore freely on foot or via various vehicles. Unlike previous titles in the series where the player takes on the role of a set character, the game will feature a new character creator, which the player can use to customize their character's appearance.
The player will have a variety of ranged and explosive weapons to fight against enemies, while the game will place a renewed emphasis on close-quarters combat compared to previous Far Cry titles by introducing a wider range of melee weapons. - Ігри
3:04 I beg to differ
O shit
he summoned you hahah
To be fair it's no borderlands 2 options menu.
Or even better, the menu in serious sam 3. i've no idea what most of the options in that menu even do.
lol it's actually you
Guys, Far Cry has fishing in it.
Sea of Thieves does not.
Let that sink in.
Sink in. I see what you did there.
So many puns.
@@StupidMAN-fh8ch your out of your depth
well you can't fish peacefully enemies are spawning every fu*king where.
What the fuck does it want now?
You’re literally the only UA-camr I’ve seen that changed the crosshair placement from that stupid offset setting back to centred. May you receive a thousand blessings.
Real men turn the reticle off
Because of Halo, I keep it offset. I was actually quite excited when I first learned about it. Too bad it isn't like Halo where the guns are angled downward, instead, the screen is just panned down. That's my only real complaint with it.
I changed it too directly. Just didn't feel right...
My eyes hurts when seeing it
Offset crosshair is just wrong and anyone who uses it and prefers it is wrong
Far Cry 6. Play as gggmanlives as he takes out Steve Smith, Warner, Bancroft and finally Lehmann to liberate the Aussie dressing room.
Donal Costello With a cricket bat to the face.
Lol Still can't understand why did they need to do it and how they thought they can.get away with this shit with so many cameras.
As well as any new Zealanders And any and all fans of black mesa
Hopefully, GMan would never do anything to help out Ubisoft. Some games are good, but they're a horrible company.
Far cry 6 is being made right now
I thought Boomer was incredibly useful because he marks enemies anywhere you send him and enemies don't care when he goes near them. So you could send him into an outpost and tag everyone no problem.
It's stressful for me because whenever Boomer gets downed, my immediate impulse is to charge right ahead and revive him
And he steals their guns sometimes and brings them to me, he’s such a good boy🙂
And searches the corpses of fallen enemies for items. He takes ammo and money off them.
"The edgy stealth character" *Proceeds to yell at the top of her lungs*
Big Blue well we were in combat at that point...
I always love how you present the gameplay you combine the best moments. You can convince just about anyone to buy a game lol..
Carlos Santana fuckkkk offff no he doesnt convince me to do shit.... 😂
iKillTerries YT Sinner
Carlos Santana Shut up you santana wannabe
iKillTerries YT Get lost Sonny Jim
I challenge you to prove that, make him play Sonic 06 and Sonic Boom and see if he can make me buy them not for the glitches and lols
I think I'm gonna rename cheeseburger to Rueben sandwich.
im in!
Oh god he actually looks like Clem Fandano goddammit
'...it's got enough options in the graphics menu to shut up even the likes of TotalBiscuit.'
DAAAAAAAYUMMMMMMMMMMMMM
BenSunhoof totalbiscuit is pc fanboy
Gejamugam Latsoomanam lol I've never watched totalbuiscuit, what does he do?
Simonium he praises steam's non existant quality control and reads out kotaku articles, stops ppl from commenting on his vids and calls that unbiased content
Isn't more options what makes TotalBiscuit never shut up? His Dust An Elysian Tail review is nothing but the options menu in the entire first part of the video going through every damn little detail and function
UA-cam forcefully unsubscribed me from your channel. I'm subscribing again.... thought you'd like to know Gggman
Sometimes his videos don't appear on my desktop feed but appear on my mobile. Really weird that this just happens with dis channel
don't forget to tell UA-cam (feedback) that you saw them unsubscribing your subscription.
Great review, it’s somewhat annoying people have overly focused on its politics over he gameplay
And the microtranscations.
Can't stop people pushing an agenda.
That fucking polygon review
Connor McCloskey Can you fill me in on the polygon review.
Salokin,
Out of curiosity, what is the political climate surrounding this game, if any? I'm debating weather I should buy it or not but because I'm someone who really does not like un-warrented politics in videogames. I was initially worried about the whole crazy religious cult idea, and if the studio or marketers would try and spin a whites/Christians are evil or some other stupid progressive narrative to stir up controversy. When ever that kind of bullshit pops up like that where it is not needed I'll just ignore the game/movie.
It's what turned me away from Wolfenstien II. The obnoxious way the marketing and game's story constantly beat the "Nazis are bad!" point over the player's head made me avoid buying it. I fully agree that Nazi's are awful but it just got stupid. That and the fact that it was about 50% cut scene in a game that should be an old school run 'n' gun shooter.
If the game itself is fairly devoid of politics referencing current events I'll look in to it. If it has one of those "hidden narratives" like so many current films/comics and games, I'll just avoid it.
2:40 "photo realistic" you forgot "at times" cmon sonny jim
also 7:42 Water reflections in fallout 3 with few mods look better. Somehow far cry just never makes nice looking water reflections :( Maybe I am just the only person that notices it.... I am playing kingdom come with low graphics and water looks 2 times better than this (since I don't want any stutters in city).
bro I was just trying to meme
yeah, first you meme, then frogs start turning people gay. We all know where it start's. WE HAVE TO CLEAN WATER. MAKE IT LOOK GOOD IN GAMES>
Ben yeah I remember In the 3rd on there was litterly a patch of water that was clear.. like literally no texture at all
There are some texture pop ins and some screen tearing when things get chaotic. I play on the original Xbox one
Your voice is so calming and the way you review a game is really pleasing. Thanks for this review. Mind giving a look at TimeSplitters future perfect and maybe a look at the editor and arcade of Far Cry 5
calm ? this man speak like a machine gun lol
I rewatch so many of your reviews 😂 hope you don’t stop them coming !
Hey bro, loving your Retro classic game reviews as well as your new ones. Keep IT UP!
you know that in Far Cry 3 and 4 you can disable those animations, there is literally a button in the settings, "Gameplay" section I think.
Yup, saved me a ton of time!
the environments in the game are gorgeous. Im loving the level of detail in the outposts and the prepper stashes especially. not to mention the meadows and hills. its satisfying to just explore in this game and find little lived in places. it feels so real at times and dont get me started on the lighting.
Who looks like CLANS FANDANGO
Me: Completely lost it.
Clem Fandango. You need to watch the BBC programme 'Toast of London' to get his remark. He's right and it made me chuckle.
bukasa jonathan I'm gay
TALEHOUSETV I think he meant completely lost it as in he started cracking up.
Just subbed... after watching 3 more recent video reviews and then watching this one even after a couple of days ago having purchased FC5 at a discount on PSN, this guy gives excellent, detailed, no nonsense reviews... im about to watch hia whole back catalogue of reviews lol
Lmao the Amy Schumer joke 😂😂😂😂😂
Chase F I was literally going to comment the same thing. Lol
i got an ad for her new movie at the end of the video....i shit you not.
Chase F the joke was better than the comedian.
lol triggered
Joseph Seed looks like fucking Jared Leto.
Love the dig on Bisquit, you both give great insight to gaming. THX...
Your reviews are so fucking beautiful, man. Keep up the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious work!
Can you please not use words like that? I have hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia.
Hey if an open world game like this impresses you of all people this much, I guess it’s worth a purchase.
Why what open world game do you like?
Last thing I expected was a Toast of London reference
Binging your videos that last couple of days ... great stuff
I know you said the arcade seem un finished does that include the level editor as well?
Farcry: Waco edition.
Stephen O'Brien
I was just about to say that!
Except if it was Waco edition we would be able to burn down houses filled with kids.
My father almost had the job that their cultist-corrupted mailman had.
Either my father would've became a cultist or the ATF wouldn't have gotten hoodwinked by the Waco compound, crazy shit to think about honestly.
Another good review Sonny Jim.
Going to keep throwing these out there as review suggestions:
Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy
Darkwatch
Gun
Alpha Protocol
Headhunter
Brute Force
X-Squad
Nice review man ,always love your work
I found your channel when looking for a review of XIII, a game I always wanted to play, but never got to. After watching that video I saw many more of your reviews of interesting games listed in the related/recommended videos on the right side of the screen and I started watching one after the other. Before I knew it I had already watched about 50 of your reviews.
Your videos are so interesting and in my opinion just perfect: The length of your videos is exactly right, you use own recordings that actually show how the game plays, you give a lot of information like the engine that's being used, how well it runs, how difficult it is to get it running when it's an older game, how long it takes to finish the game, who composed the soundtrack and all that kind of information.
This is something completely different from other reviewers who review the console version of the game while showing some cinematics from a trailer on screen. I also like your humour and language you use. Constantly calling characters arseholes or fucking idiots or whatever. This is also completely different from others who refuse to even use the word shit and when someone in the game uses the words shit or fuck they'll censor it by beeping it out. That's just so fucking annoying. I really appreciate you for just being yourself and just talking the way you talk.
Besides that there's of course the fact your videos that your videos are of high quality with lots of information cramped into just a few minutes. You've really got a lot of knowledge about games and know what you're talking about. It's nice to see you've played and reviewed almost any FPS/action game from the last two decades. It's very nice to be able to still see some footages of games that I've always wanted to play, but never got to. I've also played some games myself that are not well-known and it's nice to see you've also played those games and it's nice to see what you think of them. Of course, I've subscribed to your channel.
Late to the party, but the dog is useful as a scout, not as a combat companion. He doesn't alert enemies and automatically tags anyone he comes within around ten feet of. So you can send him running through an enemy stronghold by tagging somewhere on the other side of it and sending him to it, the enemies will ignore him, and you'll be able to keep track of enemies you can't see with a scope or binoculars from your position.
He is great to have as a stealth companion, especially if you're going for undetected in a stronghold. Having him run through a stronghold two or three times is a great way to get a tag on those pesky enemies on the other side of a compound without having to sneak all the way around the perimeter and searching around with a scope or binoculars.
Jess is great for making money. Having her with you makes animals ignore you, meaning hunting is trivial and so is making money.
If you're a stealth player, these are the first two companions you should get. Even if not, Jess should be first priority just because she basically lets you print your own money, meaning you'll always have ammo and be able to buy new weapons with minimal effort.
VERY late to the party, but once you figure out what Boomer does (marking enemies) he's indispensable. the game kinda pulled a fast one giving you the most useful two characters (Grace and Boomer imo) in the first third of the game lol
The Toast of London reference was just wonderful
"X looks like Y from this show" is as wonderful a reference as "Hi, let's fuck." is a wonderful pick-up line. A good reference would have been him matching "Hey Steven, this is Clem Fandango, can you hear me?" to the antagonist speaking.
Chill out lad
Nice review man!
I love your videos!!
love this review, man. great job.

A ubisoft game that isn't broken on PC? Amazing
It requires U(not)Play, so technically speaking... it is.
Bunker Knacker Is it possible to get rid of that virus?I even cracked my original game because of that.
Well, not fully. They've fixed all the menu problems, but the horrible console in-game interface is still there-you know, when you want to loot a guy but instead chuck your prize weapon over the cliff. That's just totally amateur design in 2008, never mind 2018, but persists.
But in general, major QOL improvement over Far Cry 3.
What about a map maker system like in Far Cry 3, did they include something like that?
The Renegadist yes far cry arcade let you make maps and stuff
to anyone who has played it, is there any option or way to turn off most of the HUD or markers?
First time seeing Joseph Seed's statue, it reminds me of Bioshock Infinite.
Gggmanlives would you review Gear of Wars franchise?
Probably not.
GearS of war
Love your reviews
I literally waited for your review
Can’t wait to try the map editor.
Idea: 4 Player Co-op where they occupy one vehicle and ride down the road to get to the end while fending of pursuing enemies for time extensions.
Code name: *Escape from the Highway to Hell*
I am also having a lot of fun with this game. :)
And also, they have made some jokes in the game about certain aspects of the older Ubisoft games, like when Dutch tells you this when you're climbing the tower on his island: "I know what you're thinking and no. I ain't gonna have you climbing towers all over the county for me, so don't worry. Also, try not to fall from up there."
Check if the reward rates are the same after release.
can i turn off Hud, markers, Highlighted objects, enemy markers, minimaps and all junk like in Fc4? this is the only thing iam interested to know at this stage :D
What I want to know is that, is the fishing as good as Big the cat missions in Sonic Adventure?
Is the stealth gameplay better or worse?
Most likely the same judging from gameplay videos since the AI looks about the same.
Yeah, would've been my guess too
The same.
Nick (plane pilot) is actually really good when combo'd with the helicopter companion, I've sent them into outposts and just sat back and watched the show from a safe distance as they do the work for me...
Other good combo is Boomer and Peaches, great for stealth players. Boomer works exactly the same as D-Dog from MGS more or less, marking nearby enemies.
I'm thinking of getting this game or I could get assassins creed origins. Which is better?
*_CHEESEBURGER DOWN! NOOO!!!!!!_*
#GGNotificationSquad
I played this game with a friend and it was the most fun I've had in a game for a long time, I still think it would be fun solo but I highly reccomend playing with a friend because it's hilarious and a blast.
So happy that you mentioned the non intrusive MTs like a real human being instead of freaking out that they exist like every other Caricature on UA-cam.
"The graphics you know, that's really what it's all about "
In shooters? Kinda, yeah. There's not much else to them, eye candy is important.
dive_bomber that's probably why fps games are my least favorite game genre
Fuck graphics whores, they're the reason these games "need" 10 billion dollar budgets.
I don't care about graphics(of course just because I said that doesn't mean I want pixel graphic)
DanielFromMcDonalds dog football.
"It's got enough options to shut up the likes of Total Biscuit"
Don't worry, he'll still find stuff to bitch about.
Loved that toast of london reference
Love the Clem Fandango reference!!! I just watched ‘Toast of London’ on Netflix too.
correct the title. you talk about far cry 5 BUT UA-cam SAY "far cry 4".
so: who right? a youtuber, OR A BILION DOLLAR COMPANY?
think about it.
wut?
You high pal?
What r u saying
Hey Gggman great review now this question does contain spoilers so you've been warned
what do you think about all the people complaining about there being no good ending to this game?
personally as a fan of Nier and the Drakengard games I'm really glad ubisoft had the balls to do something like this
I kinda like it being a bit more dark. Reminds me of Far Cry 2.
Fishing is an underrated hobby in general. I like to do it when I'm invited.
LMAO! Thank you for taking shots at TB. That put a big smile on my face :)
enough graphical settings to shut totalbiscuit up? hah. yeah right
14 years is almost 2 decades??
Glad somebody else picked up on that!
RadioactivFly 6 years off dude
"Almost"
sure it is... almost. there’s no mathematical law that says something can only be almost if it’s within a certain number range. It’s well over one decade old so some would say that makes it almost two decades old
why do I bother, I’m not even sure what I said made sense lol
can you review this game again and compare the gameplay to far cry 3 and 4?
"On the more positive side" Reminded me of Victor from Judgement Day/Reviews on The Run haha
There are a few negatives that pop up only after a time spent with the game:
1) The "Story" events that trigger after getting certain ammount of resistance points are FORCED, and if you were in a mission during that time - chances are the mission either becomes uncompletable, or autocompletes itself (while giving you no reward. If it was a quest chain and you got the latter one than that chain is autocompleted in its entirety... Without giving you rewards.
There are also missions that get crossed over as completed after certain Resistane Points even if you havent seen them at all. This happens EVEN TO MAJOR STORY MISSIONS, which in turn leads to shit happening out of nowhere in certain cases because game assumes you know what happened even if you took no part in it.
Want to experience all those story missions? Don't have too much fun! You better not do any of those fun side activities, or we do two thirds of them for you!
2) The game has a serious identity disorder where documents and people tell you "OMG cult is so horrible, my brother/father/sister join them and now they are brainwashed, somebody do something!" and then 15 seconds later they encourage you to "go kill all the PEGgies, they aren't really people lol".
And then you get brainwashed yourself... Except not really, but then you are brainwashed when game wants you too and not brainwashed when it does not, and then villains turn out "totally right about everything, except they are lying all the time and spewing total bullshit out of their asses, except they are right anyway in the end because shitty writer said so".
When you actually pay attention to what is going on the whole story whip lashing back and forth becomes apparent and really grating.
3) "The Great Fishing Minigame" people are praising is completely ripped off from Final Fantasy 15 down to the T, done in exact same way.
"Want to experience all those story missions? Don't have too much fun! You better not do any of those fun side activities, or we do two thirds of them for you!"
The solution is 'Resistance Mod'. Those forced captures caused me to abandon the game for months-like being in a poker game & someone slams a chessboard in front of you. With Resistance Mod you can play everything except the later story missions-which as far as I know isn't much of a loss.
@@silversolver7809 Right? It's my biggest issue with the game. I'm not particularly fond of the story, as it feels a bit been-there-done-that-y, but those forced captures where awful. Not to mention the fact that you get captured like nine times over the course of the game and escape? Why do they even bother when somebody has this much plot armor? I dunno, always hated those moment. They sort of justify it by saying Father wants you alive, but man was it grating.
@@mrpaulum8987 Good news, the Resistance mod has evolved a lot since my previous post. Now you can complete the full story while using it-which reminds me, that's something I must get back to!
But yeah, that whole thing was really bad game design-hopefully it was a one-off blunder, as there's none of that in the very good New Dawn.
Usually love your reviews dude but your words didnt seem to sync up with the gameplay I saw here. This looks like the same game in a different setting. Like they took no risks at all, which gets boring as fuck
How does it not sync up with the gameplay?
Maybe I phrased that badly. Just the amount of glowing praise you were giving, while the gameplay doesn't really look all that great to me.
Fair enough.
0:36 Hey, that song was in GTA San Andreas as well!
This definitely looks gorgeous.
I need to say one thing: Boomer is the best boy. Period!
this game needed trigen companions
Predator mode when
Choices I wish we could’ve made:
Save Marshall: teaches you trick to snapping out of bliss* (secret faith boss fight ending where if you never damage her and she kills you the deputy snaps out of it and arrests faith, Angels go nuts without her and lead to them just wandering hope county, ignoring commands, being more hostile)
Save Winkler: discount on weapons and ammo*
Spare Eli: (have to get through gauntlet without killing anyone, and meleeing Eli instead of shooting) wounds Jacob during boss battle, starting timer (if timer reaches zero cutscene plays out as usual, timer doesn’t reach zero new cutscene where Jacob is healed and arrested by deputy, causing chaos in cult army, enemies use melee weapons more, dogs are more frequent, less military grade gear)
Take johns ranch before boss fight: John no longer has tail gunner
Don’t do nick rye’s recruitment mission: Kim dies during childbirth, Nick goes insane, still get him as companion but he now carries fire bombs and tortures john to death
Nick kills John: Joesph uses opportunity to recruit more cultists, more reinforcements (basic foot soldiers with small arms and angels) through hope county.
*Have to choose between saving Marshall or Winkler
The music my man is soooo awsome
Every Ggman video:
Well sheeeet is it time to make a rubin sandwich Sonny Jim's? Well I'm so glad you asked.
I like this game. The original was by far my favourite rather than 3 which most people prefer. 2 grew on me after a decade of hating it, 4 got boring fast and Primal never appealed so I never played it.
But the entire premise of this game is really well done and other than the main storyline where you have little choice in how it unravels, you're pretty much just set free to roam and encounter missions and fights as you stumble on them.
I've pretty much ignored most rpg type aspects of the game along with recruitment of npc's to assist with the exception of Boomer the dog. Something about just you and your dog taking on the elements and enemies within appeals to me.
Thankfully unlike 3, I have progressed relatively easily with just basic weapons I haven't been forced to craft/upgrade to survive.
So far I'm really liking the game but I guess I'll see how I feel past the 20 hour mark where I tend to lose interest if games get too repetitive
Being able to pet the fangs for hire / pets was a great touch. Who would have thought that the dieabeetuc bear boi was such a softie
I'm really enjoying this game so far. I put about 8 hours in and can't wait to throw more at it.
360p squad, where are you?
Medic you know it daddy
I'm here sarge!
Hey ! where does your picture came from ?
You didn't mention the soundtrack which is one of the best ever, and not just in a video game!
Also the buddy system is great, if you combine Jess and Boomer you're hunting becomes so easy. Boomer highlights targets and Jess stops them from running away
Dunno why but it was cool when you came out with the Aussie accent
I haven't seen your vids before
Just bought far cry 5 today, waiting for it to download
Cheers from Perth mate
The fact we got an 60fps update for next gen really has me diving into this game with a mate
Enough graphical options in the menu to shut total biscuit...
You have no idea how hard I laughed at that one...
Loved 2's multiplayer
Loved 3's story
4 was to much the same
Primal was wack
5 is really a truly good step in the series I am really enjoying everything about it so far. Minis some of the AI or enemy spawns (seriously fix it please)
I hope the PvP takes off in this.
Sir Ratch509 this
+GiVin Hip-Hop This.
Sir Ratch509 This
1 - Okay, but relentlessly-difficult even on the easiest setting, has more in-common with Crysis than any of the Far Cry sequels.
2 - A great proof of concept that's let down by annoying infinite enemy spawners and tedious Malaria attacks, not to mention game-breaking bugs that persisted nearly a year after launch.
3 - Rock-solid, with a good story and some neat missions.
Blood Dragon - Favorite of the series, really wish this was spun-off into its own series instead of being relegated to other series like Trials and goofy cameos occasionally.
4 - Not bad, but more of the same from 3 without a lot of standout elements besides the pretty mountain setting.
Primal - A fun little diversion with a unique premise and setting, but feels like it should have just been an expansion for 4 like Blood Dragon was for 3.
5 - More of the same from 3 and 4 once-again, but brings-back some of the more-novel elements from 2 and some good vehicle combat. Throwing shovels at people is also good fun.
One thing I can appreciate about most of the Far Cry games is that they have a surprisingly-solid map editor, though they ultimately go underutilized and it can't really substitute proper mod support.
Surprised to see you not having reviews for any of the souls games but hopefully its coming
Just bought the Gold Edition. Eagerly awaiting my return home after school/work to try this out.
My crew: Jess and Boomer.
Do a way out
Do well in hoi4 you spaghetti fuck
Hm, I dunno about Vaas. I really never understood all this hype behind the guy, to me he was kinda one note coked up nutjob and that's it really. Combined with him being more of a second banana rather than the main villain, quite frankly I always preferred Pagan Ming in terms of character stuff. Though, this game does sound it has the same amount of exploring as FC4 did, even more so, so sounds like it'll be fun to play.
i liked vaas but pagan had more depth
I still think The Jackal is the best
Problem is, the Jackal is pretty much a flat and kinda pretentious character.
EXCELLENT Clem Fandango reference.
Alright, the grizzly bear bit does sound kinda awesome...
You should make a *photorealistic* shirt
whaaaaat i did not fail the mishin
I didn't think the we would get an early review.
Dunno but id think ill rather want linier Far Cry again or in a city
i dunno for some reason whenever i play 1 and 2 i feel like im in a city or something maybe because they are more linier, i just don't really like these seetings they seem too empty and villages and outposts are too small sure they werent big in 2 or 1 but i dunno it just felt, great?
Fck Farcry. Give Me a new & working Boiling Point game FFS!
BUT WHAT ABOUT BOOMER?
otakuman23
Boomer will live.
.
.
Just make sure you pet him enough.
Frankly, the game just looks boring to me. I'm not expecting it to reinvent the wheel, but it just looks like Far Cry 4 with a much blander setting. I don't know, maybe it's more fun to play than to just watch.
My thoughts exactly.
I was very skeptical about this game but now I'm convinced to give it a try, thanks
how do you manage to play through the games so quickly? this just came out
I got an early copy to review.
