Far Cry New Dawn is an upcoming first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. The game is a spin-off of the Far Cry series and a narrative sequel to Far Cry 5. It is due to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 15, 2019.
Similar to its predecessors, Far Cry New Dawn is an action-adventure first-person shooter set in an open world environment which the player can explore freely on foot or via various vehicles. The game is set in the fictional Hope County, Montana and uses a reimagined version of Far Cry 5's map. The nuclear fallout portrayed in Far Cry 5 has reshaped the landscape so that new areas have become available for the player to explore while others are inaccessible. - Ігри

Well, gaming industry differs from fastfood, doesn't it? Day-one version without any hiccups is something to be praised, although I suspect it's because they basically had already well optimized engine and half the stuff they need to make a game.

Also, I knew from the second I saw those antagonists that they were gonna be shallow as hell. Ubisoft got lucky with Pagen Minn, but outside of him, they just cannot write good characters. Everybody lauds over Vaas, but he had one well written monologue and about 20 minutes of screen time in a 12 hour game. And while I haven’t played Far Cry 5 yet, I hear that the antagonists aren’t much better.
Also Hurk needs to go and micro transactions do not belong in single player games. Get rid of that shit, Ubisoft!
Always use CheatEngine or Trainers to fix your game from bad armchair developer design decisions. Never play their game. And with that, i don't mean the video game.

also, just because i like the numbers on gunshots in borderlands and in tf2 doesn't mean i want them in almost every other shooter. the fantasy of shooting a gun falls apart when there's hitsplats and health bars.
Can we all just agree to play Metro Exodus instead? I certainly will be.
I would sugest to make the next Far Cry a really dark and gritty game. I wouldn't make it that you are a one man army and can kill anyone in your path, but someone that has a really limited access to weapons and ammunition and slowly progress towards becoming more powerful but still mantaining a feeling that you can be dead at every second.
Basically Far Cry 2 with a character progression like Jason from 3 but without you becoming the supreme ass kicker by the end.

They need to refresh this series. game play looks identical to fc4 from 2014
Its what Ubification is all about, they add more grind, better graphics and rehash everything else. Try Dusk, its an old school style shooter with much better combat, great music, no microtransactions and a no mindless grind.
Which was identical to Far Cry 3 from 2012!
Last time the refreshed a series was assassin's creed and they got a lot of backlash from that from hard-core fans

If that's what you mean by "refreshed" then no shit people got upset. Origins was the most generic, boring game ever. You fight enemies for 5 minutes each because of retarded hp sponges and level differences. (specially on hard difficulty). You have to grind everything so much in that game that if you don't, soon you become under leveled and enemies have magical buffs. Not even talking about how lower level enemies scale back to your level and their gear does too, so if you don't grind enough and can't upgrade your gear, lower level enemies become your level , same as their gear and literally punish you for leveling up.
BUT HEY. you can buy XP boosts and money boosts... this stupid ubisoft greedy corporate bullshit.
Use cheat engine people. Don't pay ubi to grind.

Actually, look up the area surrounding Chernobyl, because this is exactly what happened.
Bit of a Necro but Yes .. a lot of post nuclear apocalypse games have pushed this trope that the world would be a barren wasteland after a nuclear fallout. Chernobyl and more recently Fukushima show that nature will very quickly reclaim a area..sure plants, animals and even humans will show a increase in radiation and tumor levels but life will adapt and flourish.
Ponen Longchar I think the reason for that is most games about a nuclear fallout take place only months after the fallout. This game is seventeen years which is enough time for nature to come back

Well, this is a more realistic rendition. Nature overtakes pretty quick. Look at chernobyl, it's all overgrown. Mad max, Fallout etc are fantastical versions of a post nuclear world, not realistic.

@Dross M Power plant does not, bombs do. There wasn't freaking nuclear mushroom in Chernobyl when It collapsed. Here it doesn't feels like territory that was bombarded with nukes 17 years ago, it just looks lazy.
@Dross M bro it does not have to be a desert but it does not have to be a colorful mess that looks like they fell on the screen with buckets of paint, and this is just the same map as the one in fc5, and to me post apocalypse means that the world has ended people are dying with every second that passes people fight over food weapons ammo and clothing, and life is hell, its dark scary and depressing, games like far cry new dawn don't give out that vibe, which to me it just makes it Blood Dragon taking itself seriously.
and i fell like i have to make this clear, but Chernobyl was not a nuke blowing up, it was a nuclear power plant that has messed up because of a series of unfortunate events, from the faulty generator to the blackout that caused a lot of what happened there.

You're right, it is, I recently completed it, It's like far cry 4, it's not shit, but it's not amazing it's just kinda meh, I was dumbass enough to preorder it too, that said, I shouldn't be comparing them, you get an emotional and immoral heartbroken wreck of a man in might I say, a fucking fabulous pink suit with a dash of charisma and that wry smile, what does this game give you antagonist wise? Raiders....Raiders from Fallout. That's it.

Far cry primal is actually a pretty good game. Survival mode is a must. And it’s one of the reasons why developers and publishers don’t stray away from being an unoriginal. Doesn’t sell.
I loved Primal on survival mode. Loved it so much that i platinumed it on ps4. I really wish they added some dinosaurs into it. We really need more dinosaur games that dont suck.

I really liked New Dawn, thought it took a while for me to adjust to the new gameplay (RPG-like) style. As for grinding, it's never been better with the expeditions and repeatable outposts. I always loved doing the outposts in the Far Cry games and to be able to repeat them, harder each time, is a great addition. The AI is still complete arse though.
You are wrong about never seeing the people you recruit, though. You can find them around Prosperity and talk to them. As for the guns for hire, they hang out northwest-ish of Prosperity in some bar / steakhouse building (forgot the name of the location, something something crag).
It was still fun if we're being honest, just not for the price tag. I got it for 10 USD awhile after playing 5 and I finished it while enjoying the experience. TBF though I've played every single far cry game and never paid more than 20 dollars lol. Farcry is just one of those buy on sale games.

Glad to hear that someone actually acknowledges Joseph Seed as a decent Far Cry villain. His presence and aura always struck me as complex and interesting to me.
He was genuinely a great and compelling villain. The whole christian doomsday aesthetic really struck close to home to me. I've never gotten the outrage there, they've done a bunch of other cultures already, why not ours? They even make the "villains" nuanced and understandable to some degree, I don't get any karens complaining about this.

Honestly, I wouldn't pay a dollar more than 25 for this game. Overlooking the fact that it is a reskin of FC5, 8 hours to beat the main story is just way too little for someone like me who has a tendency of rushing through games. And believe it or not, but I'm not actually super stoked at the idea of playing through Hope County over again.

New Dawn sounds similar to Blood Dragon, a modded version of the previous game sold as a stand-alone instead of an expansion pack.

Don't forget distracting, intrusive and irritating "rpg" mechanics. Seeing little damage ticks coming off of bullet sponge enemies is exactly what I want out of my FPS... oh wait, that's why I never played borderlands... because it is awful. >__>
Unless I'm playing an MMO or turn based JRPG, I can't stand those kinds of mechanics.

Pretty much, the previous Far Cry also gave me that impression. Try Dead Cells, its cheaper, with lots of content, action packed combat, constant dev support and content is unlocked by actual skilled play rather than mindless grind.

I hate the trope in triple A games where there's a wannabe charismatic villain that constantly shows up to fuck with the player. But we're never allowed to kill them because of contrived plot reasons, and they never do anything that threatening beyond wacking a side character or two.

Honestly, after replaying Far Cry 4 these past two weeks, Pagan (imo) is a far greater antagonist than either Joseph or Vaas. Unlike both, Pagan is likeable. You get he's crazy, but he's the type of protagonist that can genuinely wue one in. He has a calm demeanor and, to an extent, a degree of wisdom compared to Vaas and Joseph. If you read between the lines and play devils advocate you could argue that he really wasn't all that bad of a king/ leader despite his tyranny. Unlike Amita he was willing to keep the culture preserved up until the point of Ajay's meddling, and unlike Sabal he was willing to seperate outdated tradions from culture defining traits. The only real issue he had was his need for power, which like always, leads to corruption.
This game just looks like a really lazy cash grab.
And they thought making this shit 40$ will make us say "ok".

Far Cry 2 isn't about the story. The story is just there to give you a reason to be in Africa. It's about writing your own story.
If they "made the story better", as you say, it would likely translate to hour long cutscenes and railroaded missions that you can only complete in a specific manner.

I feel like the expeditions in New Dawn were it's biggest strength. They were fun and each map felt unique. What it did need, however, was more stealth. Stealth has always been a staple of the FC series. Expeditions would have been improved greatly if they were treated like outposts (i.e., the ability to complete them undetected). What would of been awesome is after you took the package, enemies would begin looking for you while you wait for extraction. If they detect you, they call for reinforcements just like outposts. If you get away undetected, you get bonuses. That would of improved the game a lot if you ask me.
The game ain’t full price tho. It’s 40 bucks

I personally believe I had the most fun in New Dawn out of 3, 4, Primal, & 5. Its sofar short lived as the fasted time at two days taking it SLOW, but the system changes gave me a reason to care. Instead of money I have to have different materials? Awesome. I waited until the near end for the expeditions and Im impressed by the locations available (so far on expedition 4 and planning to grab the spinter cell armor in the next one) but overall I felt it was a great game and enough of a change in the farcry systems to give me a good time I started to not feel from the others. Enough to where I missed the sale of farcry 6 and im kicking myself for it. I want to give it a chance but I only want to go in to complete my (uncompleted) ultimate edition collection and now my only option is to stop farcry and wait for another sale or fork over 120 for it.

gathering resources to upgrade guns because bullet to the head is just not enough..... I liked fc3 system as how to liberate outposts. You have a gun with properties that is same in all levels ( or rather states) and you choose which one to use to suit you or in the scenario. Equipping stuff for just damage is ridiculous and instant dislike to this piece of shit (not to your channel as it is quite good).

Nah, it would waste a ton of drive space. FC 5 was what, 50GB? Now another 30+ GB on top of that is not exactly what people are asking for. I doubt many kept FC 5 installed. It has very little replay value. If at all. And the DLCs are an insult. So bad.

Do people not know that every main Farcry game gets a "out there" revamp of the map? Blood dragon? Primal? They use the same map, they're basically treated like "expansions" to the numbered games

This game actually looks pretty cool. The usual stuff I like about far cry, and the new loot system thing isn't for everyone but it looks like it will be pretty cool
I think ubisoft mistook Highwaymen for Nomads/ Brigands. Highwaymen were bandits that attacked travellers, while Nomands/ Brigands were bands of nomadic people that maintained themselves by attacking, robbing and destroying other settlements.
Ubisoft is becoming the real shit. Their games are no longer different. It's always the same game but with different skin. Far cry, assassin's creed, wild lands and division, they are all the same.
Ubisoft really needs to go back to the drawing board with Far Cry. 5 was a bland open world with weak sounding weapons and a forgettable plot(I know the twist ending, but it's not as surprising as the nuke in Modern Warfare 4). Now there's this leveling up and loot system which shows that they're merging gameplay systems from the Division just to show it's different from the previous game.
The problem is that if they copied New Dawn and sold it again, folks would still buy it. Which kind of shows the sort of stagnation open worlds are becoming now and co-op doesn't always spell good game.
'Bout the ending in the FC5, my real complaint is...Did not scream for a Cliffhanger!
Let's face it! After the nukes are blown away and realistic, not blinding and killing the protagonist and the antagonist...You see they are into some bullshit. And also a major point, Far Cry entered in the bandwaggon of Post-Apocalipse like Doom Eternal(yes, it is), Atomic Heart, Metro Exodus, Rage 2 and....what else comes later
