Some things I want to say that took me a while to realize as I come to understand my gender that I want others to know: You are valid if you question your identity and realize you’re cis You are valid if you are trans and like things that are stereotypically for the sex you were assigned at birth You are valid if you identify only partially with the sex you were assigned at birth and partially with another Gender expression does not equal gender identity If you are non-binary, you are not obligated to be androgynous And no matter what you are loved and valid!
Hi Laurenzo, just to clarify: Genderfluid can be both an umbrella term for gender identities that change over time and a specific gender identity. As an umbrella term, it also includes Genderflux, which is when someone's gender identity varies in intensity. They might go from agender to demi gender to fully gendered. Another, probably less common, identity is the combination of Genderfluid and Genderflux: Fluidflux. A fluidflux person's gender varies both in identity (boy, girl, bigender, nonbinary) and intensity (fully gendered, demi gender, agender)
to anyone reading this: don't forget a lot of these words have several interpretations! and everyone's gender experience is unique, don't hurry to find your gender, take your time and explore
I once felt extremely stressed out by that idea even though people would try to be comforting. Like, how could I figure out my gender if they didn’t have a set meaning? How would I know what applied to me without a standard definition? A philosophical idea I read once made me feel a lot better about it. It read, “There is no definition of a chair that anyone can create which would include all chairs and exclude all non-chairs.” It basically reminded me that ALL language is imperfect, and if I can use words at all, then I can figure this out.
Yeah like choosing sweets at the sweet store one day I like sour sweets the next day I might like chocolates. And every day I will be offended because my preferences are not recognised. People lose there jobs because they are just meant to know that one day your a bumble bee and the next you are unicorn.
I took a non-binary “quiz” and it was just a page that said “Yes. The fact that this matters enough to you for you to look it up proves it.” And underneath it said “Would you like it better if the page looked like this?” And it linked to a page that said “No”
Say your genderflux and pan gender for example. It’s like a spectrum, with agender on one end and pangender on the other. Every week, day or even hour the way your feel your gender is might change, and that’s the best I can explain it feels like being ganderflux.
I was in among us one time and people were saying you could only be a boy or a girl, so I had to explain to them that; 1. You can be born intersex 2. Gender identity and biological sex are very different
yea it's really annoying how much racists and transphobes/homophobes there are and i started playing in europe, people there are way better to play with :))
@@ImLiterallySoup one time there was an lgbtq hater in a server FULL of lgbtq people, we set up a rule that we could kill that person in front of everyone and nobody would press report or emergency button. We also voted them off first every time we had a meeting. We eventually harassed them to the point where they left. It was hilarious and I couldn’t stop laughing the entire time that stuff was going down
@@-_Sp4ceJ3lly_- omll that is so funny. I found a really nice supportive person yesterday and we played together for a while, and we killed all the rude, racist, homophobic people it was awesome :)
how i interpret genderfluid en genderflux: genderfluid is like a colorlamp, you can change to any color (= gender) at any moment genderflux is like a dim lamp, you can make the color brighter or dim the light. mostly between a gender [bright light] (female, male, enby) to agender [dimmed light]. you can be “full” gender, demigender of agender/ genderless
Another identity: *Pangender* Pan, means all (in Latin or something) so someone who identifies as pangender identifies as all genders. Basically, the opposite on agender.
Yes I’m a Latin study and yes pan means all and it’s where we get the words pantaphobia; meaning the fear of everything, and pansexual; attraction to all without preference. So it’s basically just a prefix.
WAIT WHAT THIS- THISHGTH H I DIDNT KNOW PANGENDER EXISTED PLEASE WHAT IS THIS ME I FEEL COMFORTABLE AS ANY/ALL GENDERS AND I COULD IDENTIFY WITH ANY ONE AT ANY SECOND THANK YOU FOR THIS CXOMMENT
Oh so my gf is pangender!? Well thanks. She told me that she uses all pronouns and all genders but I neber got the chance to ask her what exactly is her gender. So this kinda helped me I guess
@@FirstKingOfMushrooms you should ask her to describe her gender more in depth, there are a lot of genders, and lots of people use all pronouns without being pangender!
I identify as Nonbinary but like it's confusing for me. Some times I feel more feminine but I don't want to use she/her pronouns. Sometimes I just want to be a guy and use he/him pronouns but then most of the time I just want to exist and not have to worry about what gender I am.(Aah Also I have figured out my issues for the most part I think, I have realized that I want to use He/They pronouns and wanna look more "masculine" but still kind of androgynous."
Hi! I struggled with this for a while, and I've found it to be less stress inducing to figure out what my style is for a particular day instead of figuring out my gender. Once I'm out and about for the day in the clothes that make me feel good TODAY, I ask myself which pronouns I'd feel comfortable with today. "If Lizzie ordered coffee for me and used she, how would I feel?" If I squirm i move on to the next set of pronouns. Sometimes I have more than one set I'm comfortable with, sometimes all of them make me uncomfy. Only after I've gotten dressed in something I feel comfy in and figure out the pronouns I'm comfy with do I think "huh, I wonder what my gender is". Because even if I don't know or it's too confusing to figure out, I'm comfortable. The other day I wore makeup and eyeliner and glitter and jewelry and feminine clothing, but I didn't want my t*tties to show, and I did NOT want she/her pronouns, but instead wanted he/him. And that's great! Bc gender identity (how you feel inside) does not have to correlate with your gender expression (what you present visibly)!! Hope this helps! Rina (he/they/she)
Hi! I'm Ally, I'm genderfluid. You did a pretty good job of explaining, so I'll just add a little bit more and just offer to answer any questions! ☺️ First: never assume to know a genderfluid person's experience just because you know another genderfluid person. Every person's experiences differ. For me, I mostly go between female and nonbinary-leaning masc, with occasional days where I will feel entirely male, or even multiple genders at once. However, other genderfluid people may have the exact opposite experience and only have female days occasionally. Second: please please please always ask for pronouns EVERY time you see a genderfluid friend (if they're out publicly. Do not out them 😡). And also ask if they have "default" pronouns for when you don't have an opportunity to ask. For example, I'm basically always okay with they/them pronouns if you don't have a chance to ask day to day Third: Be aware that a genderfluid person's gender could change once every couple of months or even years, to every SECOND. It honestly just depends, so be patient with us. Hope this helps! --Ally
Thank you for this! I'm a bit opposite like you mentioned. I'm AFAB, but more often than not I feel masculine, nonbinary, or a mix of genders and only feel feminine on rare occasion. I'm out to everyone as being nonbinary, but I haven't really gone into detail explaining it to everyone because it's frustrating enough for myself. I did talk to my partner about it pretty in depth though and I told them when I find ones I like I'm going to get different color bracelets to represent which pronouns I prefer to be referred to that day so they know without having to ask me. I've told them too if they're not sure which ones to use when talking to someone and I'm not around to ask for them to use they/ them pronouns.
Yup! Also me and my friend have bracelets to show each other what our pronouns are. Like if I have a purple bracelet on, she will know my pro nouns for that day are they/ them. If she has a pink and purple bracelet on, i know that she likes she/ they
Not enby related but I just tried to come out as Bi to my grandma and the first thing she said was no your not and went on a hour long speach explaining to me why I'm not bi and the whole classic homophobic/biphobic rant. She even asked me if I had abandoned my religion
Yikes, so sorry to hear... If you still want to be religious, that's up to you, no body's business. Personally, i couldn't wait to stop religions practices
im so sorry that happened to you, no one deserves that. with all due respect, i dont think your grandma knows what religion means. religion is about being loving, understanding, kind, etc. its not about discrimination and all that absurdity. its up to you whether to stay or leave your religion, but im 100% sure that you are loved and accepted for who and what you are :)) (im nonbinary bisexual and also religious lol)
I know im late to this, but what my Christian friend told me is this. "God made us this way, he doesn't make mistakes. And to questions him, and think I am wrong for being who I am is to question God. To use his words, and work to attack others is to miss use his teachings, and to stray from the path of God yourself." I was told this when we where talking about people using the bible to spread hate towards the LGBTQ+ community. I hope having some words to put behind yourself will help you im coming out in a Christian household ❤
@@Verydeadbarbie im so glad you still replied even if ure late, i know im not the one you're addressing this to but i'll be keeping those words in mind
I thought I was genderfluid for a moment this year, but I realized there aren't days when I feel more male, female, or nonbinary than others. Right now I think I'm pangender, my preferred pronouns are all of them, essentially. This video was really good.
can i ask you a question that might be triggering..? - - - - what name do you use? i'm (i think) genderfluid and i don't feel like any name really suits me but still use the one i was born with
@@ImLiterallySoup I could be wrong here, but I believe this is were the tongue in cheek joke in the community for Nonbinary naming schemes comes from. It basically goes inanimate object or 3 letters. Like someone named Leaf, Mane or Mitten, or Ala, Evi, Lan, and such.
@@ImLiterallySoup if you were asking what name you should use, you can use any name you want :} don’t feel pressured to change or keep your birth name 👍
@@ImLiterallySoup Hey! For me, I still use my birth name, but my usernames online are all sorts of different names, and I usually don’t correct people bc 1 it helps protect my identity from creeps online and 2 it feels nice to have multiple, differently gendered names! For context, my birth name is Nena, which is a shortened version of my great grandma’s name “Chenena” (it’s a Muskogee Creek name) and I’m actually planning on changing my name legally to the full version to honor her. At the same time, ask most random strangers I’ve interacted with in youtube comments and they’ll say my name is Chesterson! And that doesn’t even take into account stage personas and LARP characters I’ve created for myself, which I’ll admit I haven’t really gotten the chance to use thanks to COVID. But basically, what works for me is keeping my legal name but using various aliases so I don’t feel tied down to one name. I hope this helps you, even if this advice isn’t quite a fit.
To anyone else who identifies as genderfluid here's a tip for you. Make bracelets (or any other jewellery) corresponding a certain colour with the pronouns you feel comfortable with/the gender you identify as at the moment. I've started doing this today because the changes can be so fast that my friends can't keep up. Half a day and let me tell you: it is a literal life saver. You don't have to but just a tip for anyone who needs/wants it
Omg I recently discovered I'm girlflux so this helps me sm for irl stuff Something I figured out on my own tho is (at least on discord) I change the emoji in my status to match my current pronouns (having a list to explain what each emoji means ofc lol) I literally have the unicorn emoji for when I feel I have no pronouns because unicorns don't exist, just like my pronouns don't exist at the moment lol
You are a deity for commenting this. I think I'm gonna buy a bunch of bracelets, a bunch of colors, and kinda assign each color a different gender sorta speak? I'm currently figuring a lot of stuff out in my head, but this sounds amazing.
Hey! I'm not gender-flux although I saw a cool post that explains it really well. Gender-flux is like a sliding light switch. Sometimes its at full intensity and sometimes its at low intensity or anywhere in between. Basically you're fluctuating between girl/boy and nonbinary/agender
i’m struggling with trying to figure out whether i’m agender or pangender. how did you figure it out, if you don’t mind me asking? 🥺 cause like i go by all pronouns but i don’t know if i really feel “gendery”
@@silversong185 Oh dont worry! I'll answer it just don't know if it will help rlly lol. So I was thinking in the start that I was actually gender-fluid, but it didn't felt much right and I felt like none of the genders really fit me, so i did some research and I found the incredible word "agender" and it totally clicked with me, cause I noticed that I didnt fit in any of the genders cause I just didnt felt like any gender at all! Oh and a reminder that I wish someone had told me, even though you might be agender you dont need to use they/them or be androgynous, like me! I use he/him pronouns and present masculine but I'm agender!!! Well, hope I helped with something~!
I recently came out as agender and have already come out as aroace (So yeah, I'm like the holy trinity of NOPE). I never really understood the logic behind all these gender norms because I never saw myself as woman or man either and don't like it when everything has to be gendered (pink is a girl color, dresses are for women, blablabla... or creative words like mansplaining or manspreading). It's just wrong and discriminating against everyone who just wants to be themselves. And I can say it feels way more comfortable to say that I don't want any gender to define me as a person because I don't do it with other people either.
next time people ask in a respectable not threatening way, just text or scream "AAA-h I exist" like screams. I like the AAA battery comment too. gender is a social construct.
As a cis person, I feel we often take for granted how little we have to think of our gender identity and how little we struggle with that in society. I feel society as a whole needs to be more compassionate and understanding just how much of a struggle it is to not be accepted by others. So I just want to say, I wish everyone here who is currently facing struggles and hardships with their gender identity strength and encouragement. You all are beautiful and valid. ❤️
I'm non binary and I never thought that I would be the type of person that would be. Honestly my struggle is not finding out what my gender is anymore, I figured that out. What it is though is just worrying about what other people think and sometimes just accepting the fact that I cant force myself into either being male or female.
my best friend came out to me as a demigirl and I'm just watching this to be a good ally friend :) Update: they actually identify as genderfluid now, which I ofc also support :D and I wanted to use the opportunity and tell you its fully okay to not be sure at first, or even change a label after some time Have a great day guys!!
Hey! You asked for gender fluid people to kind of explain what it’s like so if it’s helpful - I’m gender fluid and I’d be happy to explain! Personally I identify as non-binary/ gender fluid . I use they/them pronouns . I occasionally wake up and look in the mirror and think “oh! It’s a man” I occasionally wake up and think “look! It’s a person!” . I would say sometimes I do feel more feminine but I usually avoid using she/her pronouns as it makes me feel uncomfortable . Btw this is a fake name for this account - I don’t use Lola or any female name given to me at birth . The reason why I would describe being gender fluid is because some days I feel more masculine and I want to dress as a guy , present as a guy , be seen as a guy . In every way be acknowledged by myself and others as a guy . Some days I want to present super super feminine and be clocked as a woman - but I still prefer to be called they because I get dysphoria from “she”. Personally I say I fluctuate most between they and he - but I present super feminine , middle , and super masculine. It’s all just like a wibbly wobbly line of feeling differently . Sometimes my gender ( inside ) changes daily , hourly , weekly , or even monthly . It all depends really . I think I’d describe it as just feeling like a different gender . The main thing that causes me to switch presentation is dysphoria if I’m being honest . Some days I’ll be fine with b**bs, some days I’ll want to get them away as soon as I can with a binder . Some days I’ll wake up feeling more masculine , and want to put a binder on and it’ll all fit perfectly , but sometimes I’ll put a binder on without thinking and then feel SUPER uncomfortable. So I get dysphoria from both sides . I hope this helps! Gender fluidity is different for everyone but this is my experience ✨ I hope this helps!
Hi is it possible to be genderfluid but only fluctuate between nonbinary and female? I feel like my gender is fluid but I don't ever really feel like a boy
I am an ally. This has been the best explanation of the genders i have watched. You cleared up so much for me. You can actually write a FOR DUMMIES edition of genders. I love how you have no hang ups whatsoever. There are others who explain but are actually dismissive and judgemental. They come across as if you don't already get it that's your problem and we won't put ourselves in a box to make you comfortable. They actually roll their eyes and scoff at questions
I'm still figuring myself out but I think I'm a Demi-Girl or a gender fluid. Sometimes I feel like being a big would be really cool and other times I like my female self. So yeah now that I'm typing this, I think I'm more of a Demi-Girl :)
Oh I'm kinda in the same boat except I don't ever really feel like a boy, my gender just seems to fluctuate between female and nonbinary. Although, i don't know if that would make me genderfluid because I've never heard of a genderfluid person who is like me, so I'm not sure if that's possible
I’ve never really felt a connection to gender or a connection to having a gender. I perviously identify as non binary but felt that wasn’t right so I did some research and felt Agender was the best term for me.
I remember one day I was asking my teachers on teams if I could be called ‘Sammy/Sam’ and the majority said yes. But I asked my math teacher and she asked ‘Are your parents ok with this?’ And I was (and still am) closeted and haven’t told anyone in my family yet. And just recently for some reason when my friends were calling me by my birth name (I didn’t tell them yet) I just felt really uncomfortable and sick. Idkw though, but thank you for the video! I’ve been confused whether I’m non binary or Demi-girl, but I’m pretty sure I’m a Demi-girl. It’s just feels like, for me, that i am mostly a girl, but not completely. But that’s just my experience
I realised I'm 11 months late to comment (and 11 years late to accept myself) but as a gendefluid person I wanted to share some of my experiences with my own identity. I fluctuate sometimes daily other times weekly. It's sometimes fluctuating from man to woman, woman to man, neither to either, neither to both and ya know, all the other variations of that. Sometimes I can go months without ever relating to the concept of being one or more of these. Sometimes it's just between both or neither, other times it's between neither and man or neither and woman. Sometimes it's just a mix of both for a long time. There are many ways for genderfluidity or gender fluctuations to manifest and they are also not necessarily linked with gender expression. Myself I prefer to be androgynous when I can and usually just tell people to use they/them pronouns because that always works for me. Just remember that you're still valid even if you only feel like a woman or feminine in rare situations. You're still valid even if you only feel like a man or masculine in rare situatuions. You're still valid even if there has been no shift in gender identity for a few days, weeks or even months. I feel like I had more to say but maybe that is really all that's needed to be said. I highly recommend people who is curious about it to look up "Loki Gendefluid Comic". That is what made me accept that this is what I relate to and it is accurate for me. Maybe it will help some of you out there. I hope it does.
It's wonderful that we are starting to have these discussions as a society and I enjoy reading about everyone's experiences. After having feelings and experiences that I couldn't explain for most of my life I decided that bigender is the term that best describes what's going on inside my head, and it is so freeing to be able to allow both aspects of my gender to be expressed. I wish that we were having these conversations twenty years ago. It is amazing how much more varied and vibrant the gender spectrum is than I even thought. It sucks that there are still so many people that still think in rigid terms based on appearance at birth. There is so much more going on, from chromosomes to epigenetics to brain development to psycology to social and cultural roles, that having empatatic conversations can only be healthy for all involved.
I enjoy your posts very much. I’m an older cisgender woman (I don’t know if I said that correctly) and I learn so much from the content you post. Bc of you I’m able to have an open conversation with an employee at the office where I get counseling. He has a male name but identifies as both male and female. After watching your videos I asked him what his pronouns were and he was so shocked but his face lit up and we talked for about 15 minutes. I love him. Every time I go into the office he jumps up to hug me and have a chat. My point is I’m grateful I came across your posts bc it’s allowed me to have an amazing friendship with an overall great person. Ps: I still get pronouns wrong. Yes the struggle is real but he laughs bc I’m trying so hard. ❤️🙌🏻🤩
Tbh I wished there were a channel like yours back in my youth like 14 years ago, helping me finding my gender and overall sexual identity. I took nearly ten years for me until I realized that I am a panromantic, greysexual genderfluid person... Thank you for doing this and help people understand others and mostly better understand themselves.
As an afab demigirl that really makes me feel better. I was told afab demigirls and amab demiboys aren’t valid and are just made for cis people wanting attention… 😔 I’m glad some people respect demigenders no matter what agab others are💗 (me using they/them and not she/they is also a problem for some people.. mostly transphobes and exclus) Adesso I love your content it makes me feel a lot more valid. Thank you!!😭💕✨
I’m just curious. This might not be the best question to ask, but I really just want to know. Can you still go by different pronouns while still being cis? I really don’t care which pronouns people use for me. They can call me she, him, they, it, etc. but I still identify as a female. Would that still make me cis?
Hi everyone!!! My name is Arlo, and I'm Non - Binary. Now I have had some struggle with gender. Now I know someone will see this thats needs this. Now I have come out to my parents. Now I love them how ever this has been a hard time for them I must admit. Now they keep using words like princess, or feminine terms. Now if you couldn't get from the contests. Yes I was born Female. But I have never really felt like that's been right. Now the other thing my parents do is say things like :Your probably just Non - Binary cause all your friends are changing their genders" Now as true as that is my friends are changing their genders, however I did not do this because I wanted to be in a group wit my friends. Now I do have some Enby friends now unlike them I never really when having to chose a bathroom had a struggle, because I knew very little about Enby's. But ever since I started to learn about that bathrooms have been a struggle. Now I am not out at school whatsoever but I am planning on coming out next year to some teachers. Now there is a few I will be telling this year. Now the meaning of this huge long paragraph is if you your child, or someone you know changes their pronouns to they/them use the pronouns. In my own home my parents don't and it hurts but there really is nothing I can do about it right now. But it is so emotionally draining to deal with. please I'm begging you don't use the wrong pronouns it hurts more then you could ever imagine. Now I know there might be some people who will say things like "oh well its not grammatically correct" or "it just doesn't make sense". Its okay to not understand, it's a hard thing for me to explain because well I don't fully understand it. I have just never really felt like a girl or a guy but non - binary felt right. An gender neutral terms felt nice. Now even if you are against it, just try to imagine going though you daily life being called a gander that's doesn't feel right, like trying to fit a square into a triangle. Its hard and its not just Enbys whos struggle with this. But end of my long talk. I hope this helps someone just remember be kind and just do the right thing.
I honestly think I'm gender fluid. Different days I feel different and like to present myself differently. Some days, I feel masculine and some days I feel feminine.
This is really good! If anyone feels mostly agender but might have a some kind of connection to another gender I'd highly suggest looking up libragenders. I'm agender/demi-boy by the way :)
I'm genderfluid and some tips on some knowledge that I've learned! Gendefluidity is very expressive, we are under the non - binary spectrum, but, not all use they/them pronouns, but it's easier than going "oh hey, I have she/her he/they today." So on and so on. This change, or fluctuation in gender can change over a few months, days, hours, or even years! My genderfluid folks like to Express themselves in attitudes, clothes, and even moods. Finding out you're genderfluid might feel easy, or difficult. It might seem like your indecisive, or maybe not. It is very confusing, but to figure ot out, you have to think "How often does this happen?" "Why does this happen?" And, "Am I comfortable with this?" Genderfluid folk are also different in so many ways, and everyone is valid, just remember, if you are confused on their gender identity, ask pronouns, instead of hinting or subtle asking. Just straight up ask. Remember, everyone is valid, and no one left behind! Love you all! ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍
PSA some Genderfluid people use coloured bracelets to show to other people what gender they are feeling that day so that you can use their correct pronouns ( such as blue for he/him, purple for they/them or other neo- pronouns and pink for she/her) some gender fluid people ( such as myself ) prefer to always use they/them pronouns but some genderfluid people prefer to be called the pronouns which align with the gender they’re feeling that moment . I hope this helps! Xx
hi i don't know if you'll see this but I've been confused about my pronouns for a year or two.. she/her - meh. there okay ig they/them - genuinely makes me happy and makes me feel valid he/him - i can't explain how it makes me feel but it's positive :) however this also changes.. for example somedays ill literally only identify with she/her ect. but it can change every month, week, day or even hour and its totally random (seems totally random) but i know for a fact im not male or female.. im really confused as to what this is.. is this genderfluid..? please help :/
also on the topic of dysphoria, i am perfectly happy in my "female" body but most times i dont at all identify with being a girl. nine times out of ten they/them feels the most accurate but i do also identify with she/her and he/him at other times.
@@xelaxrs3932 hey lexi! Tysm for asking . From what it sounds ( and because I relate to it massively) it does sound like you’re gender fluid . I feel the same in relation to gender and how I feel inside , and I do like my body too , just sometimes dysphoria pops up , and I love being a man . I completely get you . If you want to talk more about it w me that’s completely fine ! Sending lots of love and happiness :) xx
As a girlflux person, I can kinda explain it as this: I fluctuate between non-binary and female. One day I may feel 80% female, and another day I may feel 90% non-binary. I hope it helps!
As a gender fluid person, this can also mean that you feel particularly one gender most times and on occasion feel another gender. It mostly just addresses which pronouns you feel most comfortable using at any given point and is fluid, like one day I want to be addressed as she/her the next I want to be addressed as he/they or etc.
thanks for this video! this was pretty helpful, because I've been really confused about my gender lately🙃👌 "shit's confusing, man" - Dan Howell. honestly, feel that
I once got asked on fortnite if I was a girl, because some 10yo boy wanted a fortnite gf. I’m agender and so I simply said: no I’m a piece of absolute nothing
I am about to cry watching this, I feel like I don't understand myself, I can't figure out. The sheer information you presented here gives me hope on my journey
Hi, I'm genderfluid, and for me that means that my preference in pronouns changes, as well as how I present my appearance. Usually I go by he/they pronouns, but other people might prefer others. Genderfluid essentially just means you switch how you prefer to present, and can switch between genders. For some people it might be switching between preferred pronouns, or in the way you present. And genderfluid individuals may switch between any genders, for some people it may switch between male and female while for others it may switch between different non-binary identities. I don't know how useful this is but it's some stuff :P
Omg thank you SO much. I was confused about my gender for YEARS now and I've always been used to be identified as a girl. Even if inside I don't feel like a girl, or a boy or in-beetween but I know I'm not a cisgender girl. Recently, I've been watching your videos and your tiktoks and I have came to to conclusion that I'm a demi-girl. However, I still am parcaly confused because I don't know if I'm gender fluid or not because it really does depend on my mood.
the difference between genderfluid and genderflux is that a genderfluid person like me changes gender identity from time to time but not necessarily daily. eg: im genderfluid and recently i feel more feminine but sometimes i feel more masculine. however, a genderflux person might change gender identity daily or throughout the day
thank you very much laurenzo for this information it will help me explain things better to my mom, family, friends ect. Im non binary and your videos help so much!! 💕💕💕
I identify as cis-gender and I am watching all these videos about gender, sex, and sexuality to know more about it cause I think it's really interesting to know how a lot of other people feel about this, cause I just want to understand so their isn't any confusing on my end yk so thx for the great explanation! Btw I think you're beautiful 🙃
I'm genderfae, but I used to have male days, they kinda just stopped happening lol. Here's a little essay I used to explain my gender when I identified as fluid: I can often times tell what my current gender is (not always but often), because it just feels... right? I don't know how to explain it. The gender that feels right changes periodically though. For me, usually it changes three or four times a day, but it's small changes (like from 100% fem to 50% fem 50% enby). Bigger changes (100% fem to 50/50 masc/enby or even to 100% masc) usually happen once a day or so, sometimes twice, and sometimes my gender is relatively consistent for a few days. Certain factors make it change faster though, a major one being stress. When I'm anxious (like during an exam) I change my pronouns multiple times per hour, and in really extreme cases (election night being the only one so far) they change as often as every ten seconds which is really disorienting and gives me a lot of dysphoria. That's the best way I can explain it. Sorry if it's kinda confusing.
Hey I’m genderfluid and I’m so happy to see someone finally describe genderfluidity correctly instead of grouping it with genderqueer and describing it like genderqueer
I just wanted to say, I came here from another video of yours (tips for figuring out your gender, I believe. Been in the comments long enough that I'm not sure it's exact name), and thank you so much for making these. I'm trying to figure out who I am, and the gender thing has me very confused. I was able to figure out my sexuality way easier than gender, and up until a month ago I hadn't put any thought into it. It's a huge learning curve, especially while I'm confused about myself. Both your video, and the comments below it, are extremely helpful to me right now.
Sorry guys I will stand and fight for gay, Les, trans and Bi. But the rest is total look at me I'm so special, Your deserve the same rights as everybody else Nobody needs to know how I swing why do I need to your method.
Yo. Sorting by new can be harmful to your health. Just remember, ignore the trolls. Don't engage. They will starve if you don't feed them. If you feel yourself getting stressed or emotional reading hateful comments, then leave. Remeber to take care of yourself. Love ya tons!
I like they/him but I dont really like a lot of masculine stuff and sometimes (very little of the time) I feel like a girl. But I want an androgynous body. I think I might be genderfaun but- like I said, I'm not very masculine.
Two years ago my son's spouse came out as non-binary and now uses they/them pronouns. Earlier this year my son came out as third gender, still uses he/him pronouns. It's been very educational being an ally.
I told my mom that I'm agender but she won't use the correct pronouns and won't use my preferred name. She said no to my face when I asked if she can use they/them pronouns and my preferred name. What should I do?
Gender flux means you feel different levels of a gender such as girlflux which means you sometimes could feel fuly feminine or sometimes more demigirl or non-binary. this gender could also be queerflux, non-binaryflux and much more. Hope this helps 😃
At first I thought I was a Demi Girl bc I mostly felt like a female bc I was born one but I’d just like to thank you for teaching me about Demi Boys! Now I know my gender!
Is it normal to be scared to change from your base gender and just want to stay cause it’s a more socially safe place and you don’t absolutely hate your biological gender?
I've been questioning my gender for a while, and today I finally decided to buy some male clothes (I'm a female) because I've always wanted to try it on and look more androgynous, you can find some androgynous looking clothes in a female section, but I just don't like how most of the female clothes have..curves and lines? and whenever I try to look androgynous by wearing some masc looking clothes from female section, people would go like "Oh those are cute!, You are looking cute!" which I don't want to hear But I don't have severe body dysphoria, just a bit of "oh wait...am I a girl?.." or "wait..that's weird" kinda thing some time to time. So I feel like I'm demigirl, but I'm not sure.
learned a bit from this.. specifically that I'm technically trans! mtf, not biologically.. but expressing the feminine side of me that was previously just behavioral. Still I mostly don't feel like I'm attached to any gender.. and that works perfectly for the microlabel I use: *Librafeminine!* Mostly agender, but partially feminine. Similar to demi-girl.. but it's not mostly feminine + lesser part other gender(s) and instead mostly agender + lesser part other gender(s).. and I look somewhere between androgynous and feminine :3 For me it went: Male -> Transfem -> Agender -> Librafeminine And tbh I just feel amazing learning about makeup and such.. I feel a sense of welcomeness in the world of femininity which I never felt as a man... and I express myself in the ways I want.. which leads back to agender: I am not trying to be some specific gender .. I just want to be myself and experience life how I want!
And roleplaying. Now I'm a girl, but check this out. I'm a man now. Look now. I'm both. Like wtf gender doesn't even make sense anymore who cares about your pronouns why complicate it?
If the term gender queer was outdated 3 years ago when this was uploaded, then what is the current version of gender queer today in 2024? I'm currently trying to figure out if I'm non-binary, gender queer, or agender. Thanks for the video ❤
Before i thought i was non binary til i realised also feel like im male and female too- ig imma just call myself genderqueer til i find something that feels right

Some things I want to say that took me a while to realize as I come to understand my gender that I want others to know:
You are valid if you question your identity and realize you’re cis
You are valid if you are trans and like things that are stereotypically for the sex you were assigned at birth
You are valid if you identify only partially with the sex you were assigned at birth and partially with another
Gender expression does not equal gender identity
If you are non-binary, you are not obligated to be androgynous
And no matter what you are loved and valid!

A fluidflux person's gender varies both in identity (boy, girl, bigender, nonbinary) and intensity (fully gendered, demi gender, agender)
this!!
Yea ! I’m fluidflux but I typically just use the label genderfluid for convenience
@@gameywarrior777 that’s completely valid!

I once felt extremely stressed out by that idea even though people would try to be comforting. Like, how could I figure out my gender if they didn’t have a set meaning? How would I know what applied to me without a standard definition? A philosophical idea I read once made me feel a lot better about it. It read, “There is no definition of a chair that anyone can create which would include all chairs and exclude all non-chairs.”
It basically reminded me that ALL language is imperfect, and if I can use words at all, then I can figure this out.
Yeah like choosing sweets at the sweet store one day I like sour sweets the next day I might like chocolates. And every day I will be offended because my preferences are not recognised. btw, genderflux (we'll take girl-flux for example) is that the intenstity of the gender changes, hope this helps!
Say your genderflux and pan gender for example. It’s like a spectrum, with agender on one end and pangender on the other. Every week, day or even hour the way your feel your gender is might change, and that’s the best I can explain it feels like being ganderflux.

how i interpret genderfluid en genderflux:
genderfluid is like a colorlamp, you can change to any color (= gender) at any moment
genderflux is like a dim lamp, you can make the color brighter or dim the light. mostly between a gender [bright light] (female, male, enby) to agender [dimmed light]. you can be “full” gender, demigender of agender/ genderless
@_sweeze_ best lamp 😂
Another identity:
*Pangender*
Pan, means all (in Latin or something) so someone who identifies as pangender identifies as all genders. Basically, the opposite on agender.
Yes I’m a Latin study and yes pan means all and it’s where we get the words pantaphobia; meaning the fear of everything, and pansexual; attraction to all without preference.
So it’s basically just a prefix.

Same.
Personally, it gets really stressful for me trying to figure out my gender.

Hi! I'm Ally, I'm genderfluid. You did a pretty good job of explaining, so I'll just add a little bit more and just offer to answer any questions! ☺️
First: never assume to know a genderfluid person's experience just because you know another genderfluid person.
For example, I'm basically always okay with they/them pronouns if you don't have a chance to ask day to day
Third: Be aware that a genderfluid person's gender could change once every couple of months or even years, to every SECOND. It honestly just depends, so be patient with us.
Hope this helps!
--Ally
thank you for your info Ally! yes pronouns are very important
I've told them too if they're not sure which ones to use when talking to someone and I'm not around to ask for them to use they/ them pronouns.

im so sorry that happened to you, no one deserves that. with all due respect, i dont think your grandma knows what religion means. religion is about being loving, understanding, kind, etc. its not about discrimination and all that absurdity. its up to you whether to stay or leave your religion, but im 100% sure that you are loved and accepted for who and what you are :)) (im nonbinary bisexual and also religious lol)
I know im late to this, but what my Christian friend told me is this. "God made us this way, he doesn't make mistakes.

Me sitting here confused if I’m non binary or gender fluid: ummmm am I stupid or is this hard? Btw I loooove your content! Ur the best🏳️🌈😊😊🙃

Thank you for doing this and help people understand others and mostly better understand themselves.
Ive been researching genders for3 years and still cant find a gender im comfartable with
As an afab demigirl that really makes me feel better. I was told afab demigirls and amab demiboys aren’t valid and are just made for cis people wanting attention… 😔 I’m glad some people respect demigenders no matter what agab others are💗 (me using they/them and not she/they is also a problem for some people.. mostly transphobes and exclus)
Adesso I love your content it makes me feel a lot more valid. Thank you!!😭💕✨
OMG YOU HELPED ME SO MUCH THANK YOU I AM IMAGING IN MY HEAD BEING CALLED PRONOUNS I WANT AND I'M SMILING SO HARD
I’m just curious. This might not be the best question to ask, but I really just want to know.
Can you still go by different pronouns while still being cis?
I really don’t care which pronouns people use for me. They can call me she, him, they, it, etc. but I still identify as a female. Would that still make me cis?
Yup! Pronouns are just words, so you can go by pronouns that aren't typically associated with your gender.

It is very confusing, but to figure ot out, you have to think "How often does this happen?" "Why does this happen?" And, "Am I comfortable with this?"
Genderfluid folk are also different in so many ways, and everyone is valid, just remember, if you are confused on their gender identity, ask pronouns, instead of hinting or subtle asking. Just straight up ask.
Remember, everyone is valid, and no one left behind! Love you all!

Xx
hi i don't know if you'll see this but I've been confused about my pronouns for a year or two..
she/her - meh. there okay ig
they/them - genuinely makes me happy and makes me feel valid
he/him - i can't explain how it makes me feel but it's positive :)
however this also changes.. for example somedays ill literally only identify with she/her ect. but it can change every month, week, day or even hour and its totally random (seems totally random) but i know for a fact im not male or female.. im really confused as to what this is.. is this genderfluid..? please help :/
also on the topic of dysphoria, i am perfectly happy in my "female" body but most times i dont at all identify with being a girl. nine times out of ten they/them feels the most accurate but i do also identify with she/her and he/him at other times.
@@xelaxrs3932 hey lexi! Tysm for asking . From what it sounds ( and because I relate to it massively) it does sound like you’re gender fluid . Ok.....life update...I’m not putting any labels on anything😅 I just say I’m a trans guy that uses he/they pronouns
As a girlflux person, I can kinda explain it as this:
I fluctuate between non-binary and female. One day I may feel 80% female, and another day I may feel 90% non-binary.
I hope it helps!
The word Genderfluid is very much how I feel! I didn't know there is a word for this! Thanks form helping me! ❤
Sometimes I dream to be an eagle... but I wake up as a human.

I recently figured out I was non-binary and I feel much more happy with myself ☺️
This is really helpful, thank you!
Thank you so much Laurenzo! This helps me fell a little less confused
Also congrats on 8k subs :)
the difference between genderfluid and genderflux is that a genderfluid person like me changes gender identity from time to time but not necessarily daily. eg: im genderfluid and recently i feel more feminine but sometimes i feel more masculine. however, a genderflux person might change gender identity daily or throughout the day
thank you very much laurenzo for this information it will help me explain things better to my mom, family, friends ect.
Here's a little essay I used to explain my gender when I identified as fluid:
I can often times tell what my current gender is (not always but often), because it just feels...
I love when people just accept when other people are not cis. Thank you!
Both your video, and the comments below it, are extremely helpful to me right now.
thank you for this video, I've been trying to figure out my gender for awhile and now I think that I might be agender
Sorry guys I will stand and fight for gay, Les, trans and Bi. But the rest is total look at me I'm so special, Your deserve the same rights as everybody else Nobody needs to know how I swing why do I need to your method.
Hi laurenzo!
hi!
Don't use her pronouns until she uses yours and your name

female over here! and have been my whole life! go you Lorenzo! We are so proud of you for becoming open about your hardships!
Is it normal to be scared to change from your base gender and just want to stay cause it’s a more socially safe place and you don’t absolutely hate your biological gender?
Not sure (I feel the same) but I'm commenting so you can hopefully get an answer ^-^
Thank you so much for this video. I came here because I‘ve been feeling so invalid lately regarding my gender. But this simple video really helped.
I've been questioning my gender for a while, and today I finally decided to buy some male clothes (I'm a female) because I've always wanted to try it on and look more androgynous, you can find some androgynous looking clothes in a female section, but I just don't like how most of the female clothes have..curves and lines? and whenever I try to look androgynous by wearing some masc looking clothes from female section, people would go like "Oh those are cute!, You are looking cute!" which I don't want to hear
But I don't have severe body dysphoria, just a bit of "oh wait...am I a girl?.." or "wait..that's weird" kinda thing some time to time.
So I feel like I'm demigirl, but I'm not sure.
learned a bit from this.. specifically that I'm technically trans!
mtf, not biologically.. but expressing the feminine side of me that was previously just behavioral. Still I mostly don't feel like I'm attached to any gender.. and that works perfectly for the microlabel I use:
*Librafeminine!*
Mostly agender, but partially feminine.
Similar to demi-girl.. but it's not mostly feminine + lesser part other gender(s)
and instead mostly agender + lesser part other gender(s)..
and I look somewhere between androgynous and feminine :3
For me it went:
Male -> Transfem -> Agender -> Librafeminine
And tbh I just feel amazing learning about makeup and such.. I feel a sense of welcomeness in the world of femininity which I never felt as a man... and I express myself in the ways I want.. which leads back to agender: I am not trying to be some specific gender .. I just want to be myself and experience life how I want!
Gender has become like trading cards
And roleplaying. Now I'm a girl, but check this out. I'm a man now. Look now. I'm both. Like wtf gender doesn't even make sense anymore who cares about your pronouns why complicate it?
