Hi. Do you mean you'll just not show up for the joining flight? 🤔 If someone from the airline sees this video teaching people to do this, they might ban you from flying with them again.😅
There’s so much negativity about China in western media it will be great to see the country through your eyes. Looks like you’ve mapped a really interesting route. Looking forward to future episodes.. 😊❤
It's beyond "negativity" but well prepared (by PR companies & talking heads as well as those so-called Think Tanks) US led West anti-China propaganda with billions of budget to spend for the purpose of disinform people who consume western media. And it's beyond just media propaganda but a system that serves it.
@@NeoTemplarHow is China your enemy? Did they invade your country? Did they assassinated your Minister of Defense or did China over turn your government?
I really love your videos, and I enjoy how truthful you are in your observations. I have always wanted to take a holiday in China, and after seeing this video it is definitely on my to-do list!
My tip for jetlag going east is to stay awake on the plane - arrive am and plough through till as close to normal bedtime as you can manage.... by that time you are so knackered you will sleep - then get up at normal time. Boom! It's always worked for me.
Harriet and I have traveled all over China. Shanghai being one of the largest financial centers in the world. We enjoyed our time at Jade Buddha Temple , Yu Garden and The Bund. Hope you got to visit there. If you are into Disney . Disneyland is there. Not as popular as the other Disney's around the world. There are many other things to do. I'm sure you found them. Sending you much love❤❤ from Washington DC Harriet, Jim and Yuki P.S. Will you be coming to America any day soon.
When you arrive in Shanghai, taking the high-speed train is not only a faster option but also more economical, and you can even enjoy the scenery along the journey.
This was awesome and what a deal from 700 to 300 on the flight! i am loving the city and cannot wait to see more. Thank you both for taking us on this awesome adventure. I love learning new cultures. Be safe and have fun!
One way I always use to overcome the time difference is that follow the local time no matter how exhausted you are, follow the local time to sleep and wake up, then your biological clock will be coordinate with the local time the next day. I have traveled to a lot of countries and it always work.If you continue to follow the time of your home, especially across several time zones, then the adjustment will be longer and more painful.
@@MattandJulia Don't worry, China Eastern Airlines will not block passengers for not flying a second flight, only a few airlines in China will block passengers for this reason
Great to see you back on the board great place for you to go Thanks for taking me on the journey it's fun from this angle enjoy. Do you feel safe how are the people to you as westerners?
God bless skiplagging. Makes you feel like a champ when you find one. Just beg checkin staff to check you in so far... i.e dropping stuff to your mate that lives there or go hand luggage. Well done guys
China is really an interesting country to discover. Everything is so modern in this city! Thank you very much for showing us another part of the world 🪻💕🍀
This is probably one of the only china vlogs from westerners that doesn't have the title like "People warned us not to travel to China" or something like that. LOL, kudos.
Just an advice. Next week is China national holidays and everywhere will be busy and crowded. Trains will be packed with local travellers. Many restaurants may close too as staff travel back home for holiday.
The number of people at the train station on October 1st is second only to the Spring Festival, and the number of people in the scenic area is the highest of the year, because China is on holiday from October 1st to October 7th, and hundreds of millions of people may travel out for sightseeing. At this time, it is difficult to buy train tickets and accommodation prices are higher than usual.
Skiplagging!! high five ✋ 😂those prices make no sense, but that’s not our fault lol BUT, make sure you don’t do it often, especially on the same airlines.
Oh no, guys don't say that! I'm so bad with jet lag and I'm flying to Shanghai next month, for the first time in China. Also, on that note, please give us more tips about the apps you use etc.
'Skip lagging' was common in the 70's ... flight to telavi from n.america with stops in England, Holland, Germany, Italy and Athens... one could use the dame ticket as long as one got closer to the destination...
Take excellent care . I know the Shanghai airport… so beautiful. And my life long best friend resides there. Beautiful people. Contact me if you need a local to assist !
You guys seem to be quite clever and even know how to game the booking system of air tickets. The travel in China is not that difficult as long as you know some basic Mandarin. I have seen many western UA-camrs eat a lot of carbs shown in their videos during the Chinese trips. Actually you have a lot of choices for vegetables too and having a balanced diet is in fact easier and way more affordable than in the US Uk or other European countries.
Im glad you guys made it Shanghai without having to continue onto Beijing. And yes jet lag is always real, especially when you are travelling eastwards.
Fyi all those scooters you saw are actually 100% electric, for ICE bikes are long banned within the inner parts of major cities in China. Cheers from Indonesia mates!

Interesting: road signs in Chinese and English. Are you using an app to translate Chinese to English? Have you been able to speak in English with the locals? So interesting to see if one can travel easily on their own in China. Hugs from France with fond memories of Uzbekistan!!!
You’re not quite in the city centre, it’s considered ‘midtown’ in Shanghai. The real downtown is down where the Bund is, so much more flavour there. I stayed in huahai road near former French area, absolutely beautiful. The bund gives you a view of the pearl tower. Take the train and go see the bund!

But be careful, it's only working for one way ticket, not for return ticket. if you didn't take the full first leg, your second leg will be cancelled. you should show the ticket you bought to leave China as well, that can be separately booked.
