Thanks for posting this. Currently troubleshooting a rough running on my 03. My long term fuel trim on bank1 is stuck at about +10% and I did have a #5 coil that seemed to be acting up. After the coil & plug replacement the fuel trim is still stuck leading me to believe maybe the injector is sticking closed or weak. I only end up with a random misfire fault after long rides. Did you have any faults leading you to finding cylinder 5? Thanks for your time
So glad I found this video. My z just started doing this last week!!! Replaced plugs and all coils are good and still sounds like a subie. How did you turn off the injectors to narrow it down? What scan tool did you use?
Mine just threw the EVAP code... No idea what's going on. It misfired and then stopped. So I bought some new spark plugs and coil packs and go from there
u can do a positive negative wire method by hooking 2 ends of a wire to positive and negative terminal on battery and then touching the sensor from the injector with them. if it sprays they’re good if it doesn’t u found your problem. is almost like a crank test without having to crank
I have a strong exhaust smell . You can smell it bad . Also when I’m parked . You can smell it from the inside . Could the fuel injectors be the problem ?

It was a snap-on scanner but you can also achieve the same results with an autel scanner.

Did you ever have a pending lean condition code or hard fault code?
No codes but since then it has cleared since I drive the car more often assuming it was an injector just clogged

I have the same issue I replaced everything except the injectors now I’m going to try this also

Probably have an exhaust leak
