This song was written in 1975, and this performance took place 32 years later, and 27 years after they had broken up. They got together for this one night only show as a tribute to the Atlantic Records founder that had died (can't remember his name). They broke up after their drummer John Bonham, the best rock drummer of all time, died. The drummer playing in this video is his son, Jason Bonham. Pulling this performance after 27 years of being broken up? These guys are rock gods.
@@jerryactrik1901 if you look at the drum kit Jason is playing, it appears to the same one his father played during Zeppelin's 3 night run at MSG which was used in their movie "The Song Remains the Same".
I was lucky enough to be at this gig. Apparently it’s the most applied for single gig ever. Led Zeppelin are my favourite band ever. I think their music is incredible and timeless. Some of their songs are over 50 years old but still have a great sound 👏👏👌👌❤️❤️
Of all the talented musicians of the 60's and 70's... Led Zeppelin stands supreme. Just impeccable performers with a sound all their own. Robert Plant still kills it, this is a tour de force performance... and wow, Jason Bonham fires up the intensity (father John would be proud).
This was so lit that when it was announced that Led Zeppelin was going to performing for this over 20 million request tickets for this concert in a few hours. That broke worlds record of request. 🔥💯
Didn’t I tell you? Kashmir. As much as I love me an old hippy and since you appreciated the drums in this, please watch a live version from the ‘70’s. This drummer’s dad will blow your mind. John Bonham was and remains the best rock drummer ever.
This song is a creation of genius. The instruments are playing in 3/4 time and the drums and singing are in 4/4 time which means everything lines up only every 12 beats. If you aren't listening for it you would never notice. They were and are geniuses at creating beautiful music.
I bought this album back in high school in 1975, Physical Graffiti, and this song stood out right away. This performance is 32 years after and today almost 50 years, well 47, later it still is outstanding. Yes that drum kit is clear yellow. I believe it was Jason's father, John Bonham's, and if you check out any video from their 1973 concert at Madison Square Garden you'll see John playing it. They always had a Gong behind the drums.
If you think this performance was lit, you truly must experience the live at Knebworth version. Jason's father, John "Bonzo" Bonham truly killed it that night. You should check out the live verion of The Immigrant Song. It's absolutely amazing. You can't go wrong with Led Zepplin. In my opinion they were the original super group. Rest in Peace Bonzo. We still love you.
You have to check out 'The Lemon Song.' Not just because it's a great song, but because it's Zeppelin's way of giving a nod and a wink (respect) to their biggest influence - Blues God - Robert Johnson. Then after listening to 'The Lemon Song' you have to listen to Robert Johnson's song 'Traveling Riverside Blues' (written in the 30s) to understand how Zeppelin's giving props to Robert.
Kyle, if you can get ahold of the words to this song, please read them. It's quite a masterpiece! Then check out the first version done in the 70s with their original drummer Bonham.
I was there! It was a magnificent gig. A quick word of praise for John Paul Jones. A great bassist and - as you've seen - a great keyboard player too. Didn't he have a gizmo where he could play the bass using foot pedals whilst playing keys simultaneously, like on a church organ?
Something like 20 million people applied to get one of the less than 100k tickets that were for sale I believe. They sold out via some sort of lottery system (I’m going off memory here and I’m old). I would still have given a limb to see this in person. In 2002 I saw Robert Plant open for The Who. It was a religious experience.
20 million requests for tickets worldwide, for this single performance. I put in a request for four, however this show sold out in minutes. 20 thousand lucky souls saw THE last performance of a small part of the Zeppelin catalog with remaining members. Download the whole show, it’s worth the time. 🤘😎
Robert Plant said he believed this, in fact, was their best song. Many people prefer Stairway to Heaven but to me this is like rock n roll meets Arabic music and it’s pure force of nature.
Absolutely the best … the arabic music meets a huge hard symphonic rock … only great musician can do this! Even if i love too the hand of Rev. Robert Johnson oh the Zep! 🤟🏻
You ready for some Funk Rock live? Try Trampled Under Foot, Live Earls Court, 1975. Blues Rock? Since I've Been Loving You Live MSG, NYC, 1973. Dirty Blues? In My Time of Dying, Live Earls Court, 1975. Hey Cammm, from Canada- Peace, love and bellbottoms.
The guitarist is the great JIMMY PAGE. Just do some reading on him and you will see why these 4 guys were so great. It was him and the other great keyboardist John Paul Jones, both started out as studio musicians and created the gods of Led Zeppelin
Advise you watch videos of Zep before the death of drummer Jon Bonham ('77 I think) He was one the best rock n roll drummers and watching the four of them together is magic.
Pure class! Genius! Better than when they 1st released it I was 16 I am telling you Robert's energy it's not showing off his body it's about music real music still gorgeous though!!!
Not sure why you chose to watch a reunion performance of Kashmir that was done 30+ years after the song dropped and almost that long since they broke up, but OK. Now try listening to a performance of it when it dropped in 1975. Not that this performance fabulous because it was. ;) I also recommend that you go back to their first album and listen to what they sounded like out of the gate. Plant (singer) and Bonham (drummer) were barely 20 years old, Jones (keys/bass) was about 22 and Page was about 24. I'll recommend "You Shook Me" and "Dazed and Confused". If you want to see what they were like live back then, check out their performance of "I Can Quit You Baby" and "Bring it on Home" (from album 2) at their 1970 Royal Albert Hall concert. Not a lot of glitz but it was absolute fire.
You “hit” bongs. You HIT Gongs!! 😄 Unbelievably, imho, there is arguably a cooler version online - Page and Plant Unplugged where they augment the band with middle eastern musicians that realllly work well with the song n color it beautifully!
If you liked this , than you have to listen Robert Plant’s solo songs , it’s literally masterpiece! the voice , music , lyrics… all of that are just brilliant!
*Yeah, they are all near 60 yrs here ±2 or 3 yrs....except for the drummer, Jason Bonham. Jason is the son of the original (deceased in 1980) drummer John Bonham. Following John's death in 1980...Zeppelin only performed on a few occasions and never fully reunited.*
Please, react any song from MSG concert, 1973. Or Early Courts 1975, even his first video en Dinamark radio 1969 (not yet the best sound, but all their potencial is there.

Live or Studio. That is the question. Sometimes they got it prefect the 1st time Somethings live sounds a whole lot better and "Alive". Example for studio version for Stairway to Heaven is perfection. The way Jimmy extends the solo live doesn't work, imho. Anything else from them live. When it comes to Smoke On Water by Deep Purple, The live version on the Made in Japan album is best. The studio version sounds dead. - And if you ever get to "A Whiter Shade Of Pale" by Procol Harum DO THE STUDIO VERSION. The live version is great with the orchestra but that is not what made it so haunting and memorable. No one who does the live version mentions what made it so iconic.
"Why is this already lit?" It's Led Zeppelin! Enjoy your journey young man.... straight down the rabbit hole!

I liked 1979 version of kashmir better than this
He says their lit lol Their Just Led Zeppelin , NO BIGGIE
One of the most epic songs of all time. By any singer or band. EVER.
The drummer is the son of their original drummer John ( bonzo) Bonham & is Robert Plant (singer) Godson. Truly amazing.xx
See, that's why its so important to welcome people of this age into your life.. we care cool AF!! This is our music and we still take it to heart.. xo

That drummer did a very good job filling some very big shoes...his father's
Gong: giant hanging drumhead. Bong: device used with smoking.
jason had some big shoes to fill / job well done / john is proud dontchaknow
#ZEPPELIN !!!! Thank you !!! Until you here this your not done !!! When The Levee Breaks !!! These beats influenced Hip-Hop !!!
Led Zeppelin is the best band of the 70’s hands down!!!!!!
John (Jason, his son in this) Bonham is using a double bass drum, hence why it sounds so different to other songs!
Original Drummer passed away,John Bonham, best drummer ever. This one is his son❤️
ZEPPELIN ARE GODS ...MAKE NO MISTAKE MY BROTHER 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Another amazing live song is from 1975, In My Time of Dying - it takes you to the blues church.
Check out some of their live performances from the 70's, in their prime!
They have the power of Old Blue's Men...
They'll play till they're gone...
The most bad ass group ever I mean ever no Beatles no rolling Stones no pink Floyd can match the greatest band ever in rock history led Zeppelin
Know that one album an act has that kicks ass? Led Zeppelin had that in *every* album.
The most amazing part of this is that back when this was originally cut, it didn't take a whole orchestra to make the song.
Just four men.
I love to dance to this. Can't help it.
greatest rock band ever
