HeyltsJ, Have you seen the new content? it looks great. BfA looks graphicaly amazing. WoW has it's own style, and is a love or hate thing i guess. I love it. But beyond the looks, is by far the best MMO ever. Specialy compared to the shitfests they put out today like Mess Online.
I think he's been burned too many times on new MMORPGs. I doubt he'll ever go all in for one after getting so hyped over Black Desert for it to let him down.
@@darksideage Blizzard WAS great. The current company is not the same company that developed their masterpieces. I adored Diablo, Warcraft, and Starcraft back in the 90's. I was deep into wc3 and eagerly awaited WoW's original release. Most of the fundamentally influentual devs have all left, and Diablo 1 & 2 was developed by Condor which was integrated and somewhat merged into Blizzard. That said alot of people will probably enjoy Immortal and that's fine.

This game got so much time developed. And after years 2018 last closed beta and perhaps release this years. Developers did great job, no bugs, great gameplay. No matter where a game comes from, if it got timeso much time with development and focus on it, it is really good. Pls no compare to bless or some games!
TheLazyPeon you should watch the trailer... It came out in 2015 and looked great. I think we might have had to wait too long for a game like this unless the replayability is clearly worth the wait once it comes out

Everything I've read and heard coming directly from them has me convinced they're going to do this right. They said it themselves, and I fully believe it.

some of the cons will probably end up being fixed later on, at least the static combat and the lack of armor/weapons should be fixed as more content releases over the next few years the gore might also be implemented for a western release which would be cool but wouldnt put my money on it looks like a very good game and i have high hopes for it, but if it takes 2/3 more years to release in the west then this wow factor over the pretyness of the world and skills (aka one of its major selling points) will end up being gone because of the newer generation of games coming out on unreal engine 4 like the lineage project one and after somewhat disappointing releases in the east they should make sure they can extract every bit of coin on the west release
Also some of the cons he mentioned are present in most RPG's. Like grinding for example. I know some games take longer to level up or hunt for good loot. But that is part of the RPG expierence. Altho having that said, the goal of the devs is to make it so that ppl want to come back to the game, increase the replay value.
Just a notice for people not aware - if you feel like there is a delay with his hits registering on the mobs, it's because he's on korean servers, most likely with a VPN.

Dimas Parikesit I said in a positive sense. It's difficult to talk about pay-system because it's not released yet, but the director said that they wouldn't be p2w in recent interview. And like all games, of course, this game isn't perfect. It has some flaws. But during the CBT1 - CBT2 - FCBT period, they received feedback from gamers very well and tried to modify them a lot. I'm just going to believe the effort they've shown us so far, and aside from these flaws, this game is already quite well made.
I'm really looking forward to it too! Although a lot of people have given mixed reviews about things like sailing and other mini games / crafting systems that didn't really seem to fit properly.
need to take into account korean mmo's often take a different direction of payment format when they reach the west which may be a long time coming if we we are lucky to get it at all, I think a buy to play option would be best for the western release as f2p seems to spoil the games, it worked somewhat for black desert! but I think either way players will get a quality game they had many chances to release it early but they didn't which is why it's ended up so well polished cause they took their time in making it the best it can be!

Doesn't look like ARPG combat, it looks like action combat with ARPG controls. ARPG combat is spamming 1 or 2 keys and teleport everywhere while dealing AoE dmg.
the best things in PVP is Wars to control palaces or regions, create brochures, and fight a large-scale fight is the most beautiful and wonderful thing, but it is not present in this game
I HIGHLY recommend playing on the RU server before it comes out to NA/EU and yes, it will release we just dont have a date yet. I play on RU servers with some English speaking folks and its been super fun learning the game!
It's crazy how Lost Ark changed trough the years and seasons. Right now there is 9 full servers on korean region, it's the second most played game in lan houses only losing to league of legends
NA is in dire need of a good MMO. If they were to release Lost Ark here in less than a year, they would rack up quite a lot of money (assuming it doesn't suck, have loot boxes, p2w, etc).

Well we're here. Lost Ark release in just a few short months. Project TL, Diablo 4, Path of Exile 2 MIA. I think you should do another lost ark review when western beta hits hopefully within the next month.
What a shame. It looks great but hearing it's a Korean MMO makes me disinterested as they are notorious for being not only free to play, but also pay to win and very grindy. Guess I'll stick to the Final Fantasy MMO.

Interesting glad to know. I'm always wanted to work in the mmorpg market (programmer student myself almost graduating) but it also feel like the barrier to entry is so high due to the insane budget. Ya mmorpg budge is insane but for me I found all these isometeric games lacking. their not mmorpg enough I suppose. They trend more toward Diablo than say WoW. Especially with them limiting hot key slots.
I do like the fact the hotkeys are much more mmorpg than D3 or PoE. As for the classes I haven't seen much but the lancer and brawer looks like they jump right out of Tera not that I care XD Well hope its good because its been so many years of disappointment.
I like Isometric games, but I can only play them if they let you control the camera (you know, like you could 10 years ago). If you can't change the camera's direction it's just a glorified side-scroller - And I don't like side-scrollers at all...

But it actually isn't, it's an MMO with an isometric camera and u use the mouse to move and use your abillities. That's actually everything that it had that is similar to Diablo. Lost Ark is an MMORPG in every aspect, so comparing it to something like Diablo feels a bit weird.
I know i shouldt be hyped, but damn it looks fucking gorgeous! i hope there is like somewhat of a deep customisation to your character, like stats or talents or whatever. Something that gives the game depth

Hvan, One thing I don't like about game like wow is all women warriors, paladin, hunters running around, it is not like it doesen't bother me, it is just that if those classes were male only it would be bit more immersive. If I was dev I wouldn't gender lock, just add str, agi debuff on female character but I would also add witchcraft buff.
Its because its seen as the standard and regardless of whether it kills your immersion, it is possible to have either gender as those classes, though their proportion will very Many will find it far less immersive to find an entire class 100% dedicated to one gender

Hey lazypeon are you sure your account were allowed to activate the blood/Gore mode of the game? I never played the game before but I'm pretty sure that in korea it's pretty common that some games with Gore and blood are limited for users above +18 while they keep the Gore settings off to reach a wider audience and way more easier to introduce the game overseas.

And like all games, of course, this game isn't perfect. It has some flaws. But during the CBT1 - CBT2 - FCBT period, they received feedback from gamers very well and tried to modify them a lot. I'm just going to believe the effort they've shown us so far, and aside from these flaws, this game is already quite well made.
I'm really looking forward to it too! Although a lot of people have given mixed reviews about things like sailing and other mini games / crafting systems that didn't really seem to fit properly.
need to take into account korean mmo's often take a different direction of payment format when they reach the west which may be a long time coming if we we are lucky to get it at all, I think a buy to play option would be best for the western release as f2p seems to spoil the games, it worked somewhat for black desert!
but I think either way players will get a quality game they had many chances to release it early but they didn't which is why it's ended up so well polished cause they took their time in making it the best it can be!

Damn everything looks so polished. All the little details like the little dink sounds as you go through the inventory. The training/ time to pick your spec. I appreciate the care put into all of this. Hyped. You don't see eastern rpgs with this nice of a UI like.... ever.
One thing i hope that will change some day is the fact that metal armor moves like if its made of cloth.

I think your big problem is that you are judging it as an ARPG with MMO features. You should be looking at it as an MMO with ARPG combat instead.
Doesn't look like ARPG combat, it looks like action combat with ARPG controls. ARPG combat is spamming 1 or 2 keys and teleport everywhere while dealing AoE dmg.
the best things in PVP is Wars to control palaces or regions, create brochures, and fight a large-scale fight is the most beautiful and wonderful thing, but it is not present in this game
I HIGHLY recommend playing on the RU server before it comes out to NA/EU and yes, it will release we just dont have a date yet. I play on RU servers with some English speaking folks and its been super fun learning the game!

NA is in dire need of a good MMO. If they were to release Lost Ark here in less than a year, they would rack up quite a lot of money (assuming it doesn't suck, have loot boxes, p2w, etc).

What a shame. It looks great but hearing it's a Korean MMO makes me disinterested as they are notorious for being not only free to play, but also pay to win and very grindy. Guess I'll stick to the Final Fantasy MMO.

Interesting glad to know. I'm always wanted to work in the mmorpg market (programmer student myself almost graduating) but it also feel like the barrier to entry is so high due to the insane budget. Ya mmorpg budge is insane but for me I found all these isometeric games lacking. their not mmorpg enough I suppose. They trend more toward Diablo than say WoW. Especially with them limiting hot key slots.
I do like the fact the hotkeys are much more mmorpg than D3 or PoE. As for the classes I haven't seen much but the lancer and brawer looks like they jump right out of Tera not that I care XD Well hope its good because its been so many years of disappointment.
I like Isometric games, but I can only play them if they let you control the camera (you know, like you could 10 years ago). If you can't change the camera's direction it's just a glorified side-scroller - And I don't like side-scrollers at all...

But it actually isn't, it's an MMO with an isometric camera and u use the mouse to move and use your abillities. That's actually everything that it had that is similar to Diablo. Lost Ark is an MMORPG in every aspect, so comparing it to something like Diablo feels a bit weird.
I know i shouldt be hyped, but damn it looks fucking gorgeous! i hope there is like somewhat of a deep customisation to your character, like stats or talents or whatever. Something that gives the game depth

I think gender locked classes shouldn't be cons.

Hvan, One thing I don't like about game like wow is all women warriors, paladin, hunters running around, it is not like it doesen't bother me, it is just that if those classes were male only it would be bit more immersive. If I was dev I wouldn't gender lock, just add str, agi debuff on female character but I would also add witchcraft buff.

Hey lazypeon are you sure your account were allowed to activate the blood/Gore mode of the game? I never played the game before but I'm pretty sure that in korea it's pretty common that some games with Gore and blood are limited for users above +18 while they keep the Gore settings off to reach a wider audience and way more easier to introduce the game overseas.
