Remember watching this when it first came out and just recently re-watched on iPlayer. What a little gem of a series this was, highly underrated in my opinion. I lived in a pub in the early 00's and can confirm that this is so true to life, especially being Northern.
This has to be the greatest comedy ever. It's a little gem that's been tucked away for to long. This needs to be seen by everyone. Fantastic brilliant a one off bit of genius
I read an interview with Craig Cash and he said the BBC did ask for a 3rd Series but he turned them down as he felt the BBC didn't push it enough. Its an absolutely brilliant series and I hope to see the live show if it comes back.
Just binge watched all 12 episodes. it was like being back in time to the early 2000s, my local pub was pretty much exactly the same! magnificent stuff, thank you for posting! 🍻 I wish I was there
I ran a pub for twenty years and I have to say I recognised all those characters from my own place. pure genius observation writing and underrated comedy of a time already passing. a few pubs left but not for much longer ( just wish we had video phones like today id love to watch those times back again good times)
Absolutely loved this first time around ,got it on dvd , when to see it on the Lowery few years back was brilliant, all the best comedy shows weren't on long enough
Totally agree with with you,at least we got 2 series to watch, can’t make entertainment like this now,not pc enough, not woke, enough,a snapshot of brilliant comedy writing,Craig cash and Phil mealey ,a uniquely British duo.
Love this series, far better than anything else at the time, and the pc shite that’s about now, this is how it was when I started drinking, absolutely amazing, like you had another family, now all these pubs are Tesco expresses, so if you have a good local pub “ look after it, you’ll miss it when it’s gone
i ALWAYS order an "eggy fried rice" since seeing this !!! these actors took these rich characters and made the people real every pub has an Eddy and Tommy i ahve lost count the number of times the pub eddy has tried to explain a road works or diversion while im having a piss !!!
I had a pub in Prescot, that area that no one really wants to acknowledge, stuck in between Liverpool,Warrington and St.Helens,a cultural wilderness.Anyway Early Doors could have been recorded directly in there. We had an elderly customer who had a black labrador called Sobers,it had been called something totally inappropriate previously but other customers had warned that it was no longer PC.
A bit like Phoenix Nights sort of sneaked under the radar for some obscure reason , massively funny , i really miss pubs like this , and i dont even smoke
Grassroots comedy at its finest it might be set in Manchester but as a welshman nothing gets lost in translation no bloat only 12 episodes and a stage show of perfection
Herd cash recently he said no way he'd be able to write that comedy no one wants to commission them. restrictions to many to name they'd want it based in London and woke the crap out of it nowadays.
do you like outtakes joe, not fussed do you like outtakes tommy, loada shite do you like outtakes nicola, yeah i love them do you like outtakes ken, i dont know joan? what we talking about, outtakes eddy, outtakes ooooooooooh i love 'em...😄
The most underrated comedy series ever. Rarely gets a mention but it’s absolutely fantastic.
No black characters that's why, not diverse enough these days
Absolutely mate , this and ideal with Johnny vegas .both classics
Tango whisky alpha tango
Believe it's coming back. Wonder what the cast will be like in these 'enlightened days'.
@@Thursdaym2 30% black with a mixed race couple and a transgender landlord
Every character perfectly written. Every actor perfectly cast. It's pure perfection.
absolutely
The greatest tv comedy the bbc ever produced. Pubs like this are hard to come by now. Craig Cash - genius
This or the office yeah 👍
Needs subtitles.
One of the classics, but hugely underrated, the cast, the setting, all perfect, watched it over and over again, thanks for the memories
Absolutely right this and the Detectorists are 2 shows I can watch anytime..
This series was like a love letter to the North. No matter what, a laugh is never far away.
Full of amazing characters and great one liners. Massively underrated!!
Criminally underrated comedy! Craig Cash is a comedy genius

Quiz night. Picture round.
"Now alot of people thought it was Les Dawson,
in fact it was Anne Widdecombe"
Spilt my brew laughing 🧡
Me too
How any of the cast managed to deliver enough lines without laughing to get anything recorded is a miracle.
This has to be the greatest comedy ever. It's a little gem that's been tucked away for to long. This needs to be seen by everyone. Fantastic brilliant a one off bit of genius
this and the royle family
Don't forget Fawlty Towers and Only Fools and Horses.
Shame on the BBC for not commissioning a third series of this fine underrated comedy.
Love to have seen another series but quality over quantity...
@Debziez that's enough about you.

@@adebinelli8182 every time, history shows the foolish failed...
Doesn’t even get on the IPlayer but I think that’s mainly because of the references to Jimmy Saville.
My favourite show ever
This is pure class. Absolute quality characters and writing! Hilarious.
Loved watching Early Doors, so well written and excellent cast.
Just binge watched all 12 episodes. it was like being back in time to the early 2000s, my local pub was pretty much exactly the same! magnificent stuff, thank you for posting! 🍻 I wish I was there

So, so funny. Glad BBC are showing it again for others to enjoy.

@@paddypureblood6282 And Fray Bentos was also the Cuban leader during the Cuban Missile Crisis. :) (sorry for mixing comedy shows)
Phenomenal. The ciggy bill must've been enormous!
Hahaha......Must of taken days to clear the smoke in the studio....
I wonder what it would be like now what with the smoking ban, you wouldn't see the inside, they'd all be stood outside.
Absolutely loved this first time around ,got it on dvd , when to see it on the Lowery few years back was brilliant, all the best comedy shows weren't on long enough
Great , underrated series.
This is a classic... what a stellar cast
Such a shame there were no more. I didn’t know a single person apart from me who watched it though.
They want canned laugher shit don’t they so many good jokes all set up perfectly

The first blooper 'tortoise' is the funniest. Watch Marks face - instant crack up.

You're right about the pubs my local was turned into a tesco express, saddest day ever..
i ALWAYS order an "eggy fried rice" since seeing this !!! these actors took these rich characters and made the people real
every pub has an Eddy and Tommy
i ahve lost count the number of times the pub eddy has tried to explain a road works or diversion while im having a piss !!!
This Gem has been in the darkness for to long. It needs to shine
I'm glad this popped up on my feed as I'd never heard of it! Going to start watching it shortly....
Loved this when it was on the box. ♥️
TV comedy at its best
This fabulous show is being shown on BBC4 now and it's on iPlayer.
Every scene is comedy gold, funniest series ever 😂😂😂

Loved this show, gentle and natural comedy from real life and to think James McAvoy was in it too
Grassroots comedy at its finest it might be set in Manchester but as a welshman nothing gets lost in translation no bloat only 12 episodes and a stage show of perfection
If Caroline was still here today she'd be blowing minds in ways we could never think of 💔

This and 'the visit' are my two favourite UK comedies
Brilliant, they certainly had fun filming 🤪
If enough fans want it (along with the writers) then it’s possible for anew series. Fan power bloody works!!!
Let's hope so...
Herd cash recently he said no way he'd be able to write that comedy no one wants to commission them. restrictions to many to name they'd want it based in London and woke the crap out of it nowadays.
At the same time this was the funniest and most poignant series ever on TV. Sheer brilliance.
Brilliant

It was superb...
Keith Braithwaite invented Tik Tok. Who knew!

How many picked up on the answers, rent boys, next answer Fred Elliot. In another episode consecutive answers were cruising and Kevin Spacey.
"Kids in the car Debs?"

Something similar happened to Maxine Peake.

TO THE REGIMENT 🍻
Best sitcom ever, just ahead of Green Wing......
@@SteveHolden-b2j Totally agree..

Use to think this the best on Telly but it was too late for today's dimbo's. Humour has changed.
Humour hasn’t changed. It’s politics and the deep state trying to control things.
Which one is Jim Morrison?
