Love Ricky his laugh is crazy how he get's any work done is beyond me PMSL. He writes it but yet still laughs like crazy what a Legend he is. Ricky straight up the best comedian out there!!
There's something really beautiful about the outtake at 6:57 where they start laughing and David Bradley just changes from this entirely convincing role as a character with Dementia that makes so much of this show really sad, where he breaks out of character and joins in on the laughter and that cloud of sadness is just lifted. I dunno why - it just makes me feel so hopeful.
I love how Ricky gives licence to the actors to just ad lib. Main reason he laughs in most of these is because he’s never heard the line before. Seen loads of people on previous outtakes like Derek saying “why does he laugh so hard on lines he wrote” well he didn’t write them 😕
daconor91 Link it then. I know 100% that a lot is ad lib. Almost every last word to a sentence of David Earl (Kev) in Extras was ad lib. The whole caravan scene was. David Earl in Afterlife also does a lot of ad lib
He really does! I think it’s one of his favorite parts of making a show based on watching behind the scenes footage from his other shows. He shows it off especially well in Extras.
David Earl the actor who plays Brian, is absolutely brilliant. He’s a natural and a superb improviser. His facial expressions accompanying his lines are priceless.
Psychiatrist is the best character in this show. Would have loved to have seen more of Ratty and the Nonce too, typical British pub banter, "Michael Parkinbum" etc.
@Proper some, but a lot is on the spot..if you listen through RGs laugh he sometimes goes "were having that" . Those are all improvs as not in the original script.

I also Love Brian he is soo bloody Sleazy but I can’t help liking him. That scene when he says “ I’m in a haze” is pure comedy gold. I also love Kath ❤️
He actually is a really good actor. Completely natural. Totally believable. I’m very impressed. Brilliant writing. To be able to make people laugh through a difficult premise is a huge talent. It’s very challenging to balance heart breaking sentiment with gutter humor. The balance is perfect. Love it.
Working on set with this crew would have to be the best job in the world, where trying not to laugh is the biggest challenge. Absolutely loved the show.
I watched a couple of episodes, then my wife got diagnosed with terminal cancer. Don’t think I will ever be able to finish this show, it hits too close to home.

Ewan Nozedar Music shut the fuck up xxx
I think he puts most of it on, but i like the show.
My favourite character was the counsellor. ‘Just don’t worry about it mate’. Depression cured 😂👍🏼
Paul Kaye, he's awesome look up some other stuff he's done
Simon Cowell yeah I saw him in the stranger aswell. Great actor
@@michaelsilvestri202 you haven't lived until you've seen his as Mike Strutter
He’s class in game of thrones as well
Was best as Dennis Pennis
I just realised this is 20 minutes of ricky laughing at his own jokes
Not really. A lot of the lines seem to be improv.
@@randomcreek harold shit mum, long dong silver, Harry red nuts

Love Ricky his laugh is crazy how he get's any work done is beyond me PMSL. He writes it but yet still laughs like crazy what a Legend he is. Ricky straight up the best comedian out there!!
Ricky has such a contagious laugh. I was crying in laughter watching this.
markusfuller My tummy hurts 😂🤣😂
Me too, and I feel so much better now!
His portrayal as a dementia sufferer was amazing!!! I love this outtake too
“Me dum or you dum?” Hahaha. Such a beautiful outtake scene. You’re so right too about him flicking into real life.
Love this comment :)
Also shows how amazing of an actor he is
@@Grantofglyn yes he is outstanding in his field that's for sure ...always admired him
I love how Ricky gives licence to the actors to just ad lib. Main reason he laughs in most of these is because he’s never heard the line before. Seen loads of people on previous outtakes like Derek saying “why does he laugh so hard on lines he wrote” well he didn’t write them 😕
i've seen interviews with Ricky where he said there's very little improv in his sitcoms...
@@daconor91 improve or no improve it's still absolutely mad not to be allowed to laugh at your own joke
H Brooks
Merchant wasn’t involved in Derek or anything since
daconor91
Link it then. I know 100% that a lot is ad lib. Almost every last word to a sentence of David Earl (Kev) in Extras was ad lib. The whole caravan scene was. David Earl in Afterlife also does a lot of ad lib
Also it's not like he's saying it, it's funnier when someone else is saying it
its the "nah you're a mate" that gets me every time!
Normally directors get annoyed with bloopers but Rick absolutely loves them, which makes it harder.
Indeed. He's an effortless actor, many times subtle. He creates tension so easily. That's the cloud that precedes the storm of laughing... 😁
Robert Gosselin check out Derek bloopers
He's a legend, I often notice and crack up at the tiny little subtle things he does! Brilliant actor!

Psychiatrist is the best character in this show. Would have loved to have seen more of Ratty and the Nonce too, typical British pub banter, "Michael Parkinbum" etc.

A spin-off with Ratty and the Nonce would be interesting 😂😂
I have watched this a dozen times.... The nick-names part always slays me.
That guy in the bar will definitely be hired by Gervais in the future. That's proper improv gold.
A lot of the characters in this, as well as Ratty, were in “David Brent, On the Road”. Very funny, as well
They were both on Phoneshop on E4 years ago and I believe Gervais had a hand in that show as well
@Proper some, but a lot is on the spot..if you listen through RGs laugh he sometimes goes "were having that" . Those are all improvs as not in the original script.

She's great in "extras" too, if you haven't seen it :)

@@Mattjonesll agreed. Anything Gervais does on his own always misfires. He needs Merchant.
So cool that the actors can ad-lib to see what will be funniest.

I watched these outtakes an endless amount of times. Absolutely love Brian. Ricky Gervais chooses these comics/actors extremely well. I love everything the man does.

The outtakes with Ratty and The Nonce had me actually crying 😂
Matt J Cole he’s not just the nonce
He actually is a really good actor. Completely natural. Totally believable. I’m very impressed. Brilliant writing. To be able to make people laugh through a difficult premise is a huge talent. It’s very challenging to balance heart breaking sentiment with gutter humor. The balance is perfect. Love it.
Working on set with this crew would have to be the best job in the world, where trying not to laugh is the biggest challenge. Absolutely loved the show.
I enjoy the fact that Ricky finds the lines he wrote so funny he can't keep it together when they're actually being uttered on camera :D
The voice in my head has been saying “basically I cram it up there flaccid” for over an hour now
The "Oooooooo" has been looping around in my mind for months from that scene
Only way it can be done if I'm honest

The bloopers teach the uninformed and critiques where the comedy was. Hiding in plain sight. The genius of Gervais.
Cant imagine a better director / actor to work with than Ricky, I bet every day on set is such a laugh!
Agree! Imagine coming home from work with a belly-ache from all the laughing 😃

How is everything now? I hope it all went well with your wife.
Sorry about your wife. Hope you're doing ok.
