So let’s get this straight…..That bag of shite labelled ‘Mrs Browns Boys’ gets chucked on our screens series after bloody series but gems like this don’t get recommissioned? 🤔
Read an interview with Craig Cash where said the Beeb wanted more but after how they treated him & Caroline regarding the response to ‘Mrs Merton and Malcolm’ he refused to do another.
Been trying to get hold of this for ages. Partner saw it at the Lowry. Only released as a limited edition to raise money for the Christie. Thanks for your kindness uploading. I’ve made a donation to the Christie 👍
There was definitely enough legs for a third series but l'm grateful for the two that Craig Cash and Phil Mealey gave us and for the fact that it didn't run past its sell-by date like so many other sitcoms. Classic and timeless British Comedy and is up there with the best of them such as Porridge. Brilliant writing full of subtle wit, great casting and characterisation.
Never knew they did a live show. Haven't seen Early Doors in 10 years or more. Just an out of nowhere thought about the 2 coppers while scrolling UA-cam and I thought it would be funny to reminisce and watch a few clips. Can't believe I found this. Brilliantly done, so funny and credit to them all.
It was a touring show in theatres but it ended with a one-off arena show at the Manchester Arena (which this was recorded at and I was lucky enough to be present at).
Had no clue about this myself. Popped up in my recommendations. Maybe because I was looking up old videos of Salford over Christmas 🤷🏼♂️ Anyway can’t wait to watch this over the weekend. I bloody loved this show. Shame about James McAvoy leaving so soon for another show. Bloody shameless he was bloody shameless 😂
Why this didn't get as much love as The Royle Family I'll never know. Excellent show, and this theatre verson was a romp. Loved the bits breaking the fourth wall.
Fortunately it does work , though sometimes a bit slow for watching on UA-cam,but if you're in the audience of course it's a different thing altogether , absolutely love it .
Just watched the box set over Christmas, seen it 10 plus times, truely a superb and well written comedy, I use many lines from it regular, everytime I see a Frey Bentos in the shop, or tempory traffic lights and I am constantly saying Crime won't crack itself, have been for years, I would love to have had The Grapes as my local its just how a boozer should be.
Loved this show. Only did a small amount of episodes but every one of them was a belter. Packed with talent but nothing pretencious . First time I have ever heard of this live show. 4:14 am..looks like I am not going back to sleep.😂
Thank you so much for this upload I absolutely love Early Doors one of the best comedies in my opinion. I met Phil Mealey a few months back and had a chat he was great I asked why it ended and he said him, Craig and the cast wanted to continue but the BBC didn't. Such a shame really was such a good representation of pub life back then. R.I.P to Tommy as well he was asked when he died did he want burying with his wife he said "No thanks I'll stay on my own" To the Regiment.....
So wish they would bring the TV series back as was and still is one of the best comedies on the TV. Have been trying to watch this live show for years, so thanks for uploading
I remember back in the early 2000's, every Sunday morning I would go to Salford market to see what the bootleg DVD "3 for a tenner" guys had for sale, got both series, went home put the kettle on, bacon butty and sat on the sofa and watched all of it in one go. Great times......
The funniest line in the tv series was while the two coppers were chatting in the back room , listen for their radio chatter in the background ,foxtrot alpha romeo tango , absolutely priceless. Beautifully written.
Just simply brilliant from start to finish. Desperate for a 3rd series of this national treasure of a show. Winnie is the absolute MVP. Her and Jeans scenes are the absolute best.
Thanks for the upload. Spent years looking for this. Very funny. New cast members did well. Tanya is a right M ilf. Cash and Mealey should write more stuff together.
I can see from the comments that this was a awesome tv series . True manc stuff . This stage version was superb credit to all ( even had a tear in my eye at the end) brining it back Craig. Hope peter Kayes as funny tomorrow in Manchester .
Very much appreciated for uploading this! I've been trying to find it for ages too. Had a ticket for it but couldn't go in the end so I'm really looking forward to watching it. Cheers 👍
Just stumbled upon this, I watched both series when they were on TV, bought them on DVD and enjoyed them several times... I must say this didn't disappoint, it was bloody brilliant...👍✅ Thanks for posting.🥰
Craig and partner wrote this masterpiece for the telly, they crafted it and made everything just right, perfection takes a while to write, not like Mrs Brown that's shite, all they need is one more chance.
I used to love this show. It kinda went under the radar though. I used to see the actor who played the original miserable old fella in the Bowling Green on Wigan Lane in Wigan.
Series 3 was written but never made. So this live show set after Melanie's 21st is partly made of that 3rd series scripts. Maybe UKTV might take it up.
@@spongebobsquaretits I agree it needed Eddie and Joan. That said the original Jean and Tommy are dead but I thought the replacement actors didn't ruin those two parts. The 90s tv show THE Fast Show are doing a 30 year reunion show but no one could say scorchio like Caroline Aherne.
I never saw the TV series, this just appeared in my recommendation feed. Best thing I’ve seen for ages, refreshingly good with proper northern humour. Bravo!
If you liked this you will love the series, it's on BBC I-player, they only did 2 series, it will make you laugh out loud and have little cry. And some of the humour in the live show will be in context!

It's a joke. Hopefully the BBC will someday see sense and commission some more to be filmed. Genius
Totally agree
I'm kind of glad they only did 2 series, it stays fresh and funny, no time to get stale and predictable.
@@tasscatsame it goes down in history and not killed off by boring story lines like mrs browns boys

It's criminal that Early Doors only had 2 seasons - A true classic of British comedy. BRING IT BACK!

Saw this at the Lowry Salford, absolutely superb. Possibly the best ever comedy on TV, brilliant characters.
So did I totally agree 😂

I do have the two series on DVD and watched them around 12 months ago. This show just popped up on the recommendations today.
One of my all time favourite comedy shows. Thanks for uploading.

Very happy that I stumbled upon this. I had been looking for this for ages. Absolutely brilliant show.
Saw it twice at the Lowry. Had a chat with some of the cast. Love it. I rented it from a website for charity donations a few years ago.
Do you remember what the charity was by any chance?

It was the NHS Cancer Charity with the name "The Christie". I just googled it.
