These main trainers have different reactions when throwing the dynamax pokeball.
My favorite is Melony, the 6th leader fron Pokemon Shield, who cuddles it before throwing, showing care to her Lapras.
Garbodor is her first ever pokemon, it's her starter.

The facial expressions of the characters in these games are really good
Glad they making it better animated, started from X and Y being a little stiff then later to Oras and sun and moon, animation came a long way.

At first, I thought she was scary. But when I heard some talk about her backstory, she has literally become my favourite character in the game.

It's literally the default throw for throwing dynamax pokeballs. Nessa does the same. Not everyone has unique throws you know...
I didn't notice that until Bogleech pointed it out on his site! I think that's a sweet detail! A reminder that Garbodor was her first and favorite.
I love how she kept the one friend she had in poverty as her ace pokemon, Garbodor. This helps structure her as a loyal woman, even if that loyalty is overexerted, as seen with her loyalty to the man who saved her from poverty, Rose.
If I'm being honest here... I think that this is the best battle from this game, the music is amazing, the introduction sequence of her character is really good, her facial expressions are the best in the entire game, her animation from the way the wind moves her hair and lab coat, to the way she moves in every close up is really smooth 💕💖✨ plus... She has Giant garbage gurl wich is amazing by itself 💓

Marnie sucks at battling and Hop does not get good until post game. I still swept Hop's team even after he got Zacian, with a Dragapult, because I just used his Wooloo as setup fodder, since he was not smart enough to switch to a Pokemon that can damage ghost types.
At that point in the story, Marnie had already returned home to take over Piers' gym and Hop basically quits the gym challenge.
The swift actions to the eye twitching it's all too good

It amazes me how Rose and Leon are literally 10 feet away and they’re enjoying the view completely oblivious that this battle is going on-
theyre basically blind to not see a gigantic trash monster...
This entire thing is a tragedy of impulsiveness as the result of poor communication. This whole mess could have been avoided if someone just told Hop and the protagonist that, “Hey, Leon and Rose are just talking for a bit, please be patient, you little s**ts”. As a result of NOBODY talking, two teens broke into a private building, Team Yell caused chaos, and this woman snapped. Oh, and Rose wasn’t talked into being patient, resulting in the Second Darkest Day.
That's unfortunate.

I love how the characters have more facial expression and movement of the mouth. It's way better than the stiff, mask faces we had in the 3ds games.
No voice acting makes it super awkward tho.

Oleana's battle is my favorite battle in the entire game. The happy-go-lucky build up to her battle completely is a big surprise when you end up facing a berserk Oleana. (+Her theme is my favorite in the game)

I swear, characters who look so calm on the outside but also have a psychotic insane personality that can suddenly snap out of nowhere just gives me the creeps!
Azula from avatar is a perfect example, at first she looked pretty calm but yet i knew she was still a threatening villain, but during the final episodes where she just snaps more and more is what freaking scared me a kid. To me, azula was no longer a calm yet creepy person, but a murderous monster. I still find her meltdown scene pretty heartbreaking though.

So here's a pretty interesting fact. Oleana used to live in poverty and that's when she was best friends with her trubbish(that's why when she throws her gmax ball she hugs it and it's rlly wholesome). So when chairman Rose took her in, she got her elegant ladylike pokemon and that's also why she's so loyal to him.

I think Olena is one of the most believable and relatable characters in the game. Olena isn’t crazy she just has a bad temper and is loyal to Rose for him giving her a new life. She has a team of redefined beautiful Pokémon but never got rid of her childhood trubbish. That shows she loves her Pokémon and wouldn’t abandon them or freeze them like our girl over in Alola XD

From what I figured, Gigantamax or not, all Dynamaxed Pokemon are scaled to fit in a specific camera angle, demonstrated here at 5:55
So it's probably WAY bigger then what you see in this battle, they just shrunk it a tad to get it to fit on screen.

When I was fighting her, I was like, "Wow, all her Pokemon are feminine. Is that her theme?" and then she sent out the last one....
Apparently she grew up poor and at that time her Trubbish had been her only friend
This woman rocks essentially a 90's workout vid as her theme and its bad ass like if anyone else had this in the game as their theme I'd be be like ok neat. However the fact that it's reserved for the woman who poured her heart and soul into the ambition of a man who not only took her for granted but literally wants to Machiavelli the entire galar region because of a power shortage that may or may not happen without a clear plan. People like to say she's not a very good villain but it's cause shes a very nuanced character she doesn't want to be the villain she wants to be the rock for the company and the man that hired her ; moreover, that person she would go to hell for and back is the man who essentially gave her everything she has so because of that oleana is fiercely devoted him in a heavily fanatical degree. it's why when rose goes off the deep end and releases eternatus she's not somber or angry she's defeated because she knows she can't help him he's gone too far. She is my favorite character In the game hands down and I hope we get more characters like oleana.

I think a lot of people miss the subtle storytelling with her Pokemon. If I remember correctly, she had a very hard life before Rose helped her, probably poor or struggling. All her Pokémon are beautiful and elegant exocet her favorite, Garbador. I believe it was probably her first Pokémon, that she had all throughout her hard times. And in a way she loves him for being there for her when she didn’t have anyone else during those times, and he reminds of those hard times and how she clawed her way up to a better life. The way she hugs the Pokeball before throwing it, it shows she has an immense attachment to her Garbador, which is a stark contrast the rest of her elegant and beautiful Pokémon. I just love the subtle and visual storytelling, because I feel like things like that have been lacking in the newer Pokemon games.
She had a much more interesting and compelling backstory than the Chairman and I think she should have been the final boss. She was also just way harder than him for me anyways.

This was a missed opportunity right here. Since the gym leaders technically work under Rose, they should have made the Elite Four as the team admins.
