HinduCowGirl each video just keeps getting better. I especially like the tour of the train yard and inside each train cars you walk toward the drivers seat. Love the early morning with fresh snow and a HinduCowGirl coffee mug in hand. Please keep up your excellent work as our leader of the herd and ambassador of Norway.
Couldn't be better. To bad weather the best train..Flirt. Nice touch with the music and inspection, without a doubt you are the best HCG, Thanks for the ride.
HCG, your videos are sharper than ever. They always were very good anyway, but now they are superb. Early on in this video, when your train is under the floodlights in the snow, I really started to notice it. Great to watch! :O)
Thank so much for adding the tidbits of information about how things can go day to day. I do not know why but I just love Trains, they are so calming , relaxing. This train is so quite , must be fun to drive. The video quality is really good to I had to say. Drive safe . Thank you again.
If this was the UK 🇬🇧 the railway would’ve come to a complete stop with that amount of snow on the lines and the reason given it’s the wrong type of snow! I’m not joking we just can’t cope with it. But the best (most annoying but funny at the same time) comes in the autumn you’ll love this one, The train is cancelled because of leaves on the line.
Typically save your winter videos for when the temps reach 38°C in my part of the world, psychologically lowers the temp for some odd reason, I sit working on the laptop while your videos play on the big screen, don't judge, it gets hot here.....We're due for -26°C wind chills this weekend sooooo, yeah, saving this video. Videos are beautifully produced, kudos to you as always.
Love your videos, they are so beautiful.. like this one seems so magical ,I hope someday I get a chance to visit your beautiful country.. wishing you all the best and lots of love from India...
Thank you for sharing your work with us. Considering when you work - like early mornings and holidays I assume that you haven't been working long enough to get first choice of what your schedule is. While that's not good for family life it does make your videos even more interesting.
Engineers with seniority do not get first choice of which shift they will work and which train they will drive? Unlike the railroads here in the United States?
I have some friends and relatives who work for one of the large freight railroads here. They have told me that when you get enough seniority, you can request the shift and the job that you really want.
I remember those 4am starts, especially in winter, trudging through the snow just to get to work. I see that the Flirt has those stupid seat backs where the contours of the seat back do not allow for the depth of the seat cushion so that the bulge which should fit in the small of your back actually coincides with your pelvis, effectively pushing you off the seat. I thought I had managed to get that corrected 34 years ago.
EEEEEE !!! Another early morning quick pitter patter trip thru the snow to get to the engine ! looks like a Little Squirrel has traveled this path before......
Thanks you so much for another super fun video! Is there avalanche warnings often? Have the tracks ever been blocked by an avalanche? As mentioned below, I to have noticed a more professional quality in your videos. Nothing is more relaxing than watching one of your videos. Thanks again! Dave in NoCal
I almost thought this was a repeat of a vid from about a fortnight ago, with the Avalanche warning, the one lady in the fur-lined hood at station 3, and the one gent at station 4. But no emergency stop and Spad for a failed signal, as you approached it. Unless, of course, you have carefully edited that out! :-P
This is the independet upload of the mentioned video you're talking about. You have been watching the stream :) Which is in much better quality due to some issues UA-cam is experiencing with large 4K uploads. They're unable to process the files correctly. Thing are getting better as they now reach at least 1080p...
Nice cabride through the snow HinduCowGirl. That was awesome. I told you that you could make it through an avalanche. Ha ha ha, just kidding. How did you manage to get the snow off the windshield as it kept hitting it several times? You did have to restrict the speed to 10 km per hour at several places due to the avalanche warning.
Between 21:00 and 21:25 are those shooting stars I see? it doesn't look windy the trees aren't moving and one other thing if you encounter a tree accross the tracks what do you do is there a maintenance crew on standby or is the engineer supposed to get out the chainsaw and deal with it, or is there a road crew that goes ahead and checks the tracks, I love your videos thank you from the east coast of the United States of America, I love trains as a lot of us young and not so young boys do, my dad always wanted to get me a GG1 for my lionel 027 set when I was little but he never did, those were great engines.
Hello, You have to take the direction of the wind into account. You also need to see where the track lies compared to the mountains and hills. Some parts may be in the "shadow" so it won't bee affected by the wind, whilst other places gets the full effect of it. :) If there is a tree across the line, you might end up hitting it, or maybe you're able to stop in time. If it's possible you can drag the tree out of the way with the train. We do have ropes and stuff with us :) in other cases the owner of the infrastructure (Bane NOR) has a maintenance crew on standby somewhere :)
Hahaha, In my mind. avalanche detector goes off. Slow down for seemingly ever get past the warning area find nothing there. Blast horn and speed off. THERES YOUR AVALANCHE :P
Good evening. I watch the railway to Bergen completely electrified. Tell me please, can you see diesel locomotives there? for example Di3 or Di4? Just when the TV people from the line filmed from Bergen to Oslo, there were a pair of diesel locomotives with hoppers wagons. The line is very picturesque :) And you only work on it? Do you ride other lines? on switch points is electric heating used? And one more question, if I certainly didn’t get you, and the traffic lights are blinking on purpose so that the signal can be seen better? :)
Hello HCG: once again your title by far exceeded the facts. Only one time did the snow obliterate the view. I watch your presentations because I like them but it's sort of a let down when in reality not much represents the title. Luckily, I am like a "Cubs Baseball Team" fan. I'll watch no matter what. Keep on recording.
While we're in a tunnel...how far out do you know what train you're driving? Do you bid? How long before a departure do you have to pick up and position your train?
The shift plan spans over 6 weeks. We bid for shift plans two times a year. :) Not able to discuss how far ahead we have to meet to position the train etc. This is due to competition situations. The privatization of the rail puts a lid on almost everything.
What time does it begin to get daylight? When I was in Frankfurt, Germany, it wasn't really light until almost 8 am in the winter and dark again by 4 pm.
Incredible 🤩 For the first time I see a night drive from the train driver's deck. Plus, in such wonderful conditions. By the way, a small suggestion to give the current location and speed in the movie. Greetings from Warsaw 👍🏼
Question. Talking about snow on the tracks. I know a train can safely go through a reasonable amount of snow.... But when it becomes too deep... who makes the decision is it track control or the Train driver or a combination of both? that ok this is getting really deep cannot continue safely or do you just go slower and try and push your way through it... is there even a limit that once reached you have to stop as in snow depth on tracks ??
Not a dining car on this train :) But on the reginal train they have a dining car, where they sell warm and cold food, dinner, snacks, warm and cold beverages, snacks and pastries. :)
@RailCowGirl I noticed a section east of Voss on the last video where you have to crawl at a super slow speed thru a tunnel and out the other side. On this one same deal. Sounds like you have flashers on. Is that bad track there or whats the story?
It depends if the second train set is open for passengers or not :) it could be closed one way due to little demand, and opened in Bergen before heading in the other direction again.
All & Nothing I actually yelled because I thought a small child fell from the cliff side and curled up. But on review it's just a larger water drop on the windshield catching the light. That scared me for a second!
OMG !!! I really was convinced it was something like a raccoon falling on the track and then starting to flee ahead !!! ( with a strange light spot on the tie... 🙄🤔 😶)
Slowing down in an avalanche area seems counter-intuitive. if there is a risk of getting hit in that area, why would you want to expose yourself to risk for any longer than necessary?
Why would it be counter intuitive? The System was triggered, which means that the track could be blocked. Driving into an avalanche at 80kmh would seem more counter intuitive, than getting permission to continue at reduced speed, and be able to stop in front of the avalanche. :D
You have no idea what a blessing your videos are!
Better than a laxative! I mean, a sedative!
I love the night time with the snow. So relaxing 🤗

Addicted to the Winter train journeys- thank you !
Glad you like them!
It's like being there without the effort of getting up, feeling the cold and having to concentrate! Thanks for another great train experience.
I'm watching your videos almost every day! Thank you a million times!
Wow, thank you! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ So glad you enjoy them that much ❤️
You have one of the best jobs in the world!
Oh yeah :D
Great video yet again :) Love the darkness, snowdrifts on the track and the signals lighting up your way to Bergen city :)
Thank you for showing this video, its so relaxing & everything looks so good at night time and its so peacefully to watch!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks a lot for watching!
These videos are fascinating. The scenery, sounds, motion, feels like a slip into another dimension.
Beautiful especially when rails in the snow
On a hot humid night in Australia, there is nothing better than a good HCG and this one was superb. Thank you very much indeed. Cheers
Couldn't be better. To bad weather the best train..Flirt. Nice touch with the music and inspection, without a doubt you are the best HCG, Thanks for the ride.
Dream job, always clean and warmed up. Just have to show up and throw a switch! 🙄😕🤭😆
HCG, your videos are sharper than ever. They always were very good anyway, but now they are superb. Early on in this video, when your train is under the floodlights in the snow, I really started to notice it. Great to watch! :O)
Very nice and clean
Thanks a lot!

I love it! Anyone else quiet during the Avalanche warning?
If this was the UK 🇬🇧 the railway would’ve come to a complete stop with that amount of snow on the lines and the reason given it’s the wrong type of snow! I’m not joking we just can’t cope with it.

Or the summer. when the rails warp.
Beautiful train with a beautiful night ... very nice ....

Awesome work! Prayers and safe travels :)

Thank you, only ever done that run during the summer months. Great fun and driving.

Oh, everyone has to do that. The burden is shared on everyone. Early, holidays etc etc etc.
Engineers with seniority do not get first choice of which shift they will work and which train they will drive? Unlike the railroads here in the United States?
Thank you for your explanation.@@laurencegray4720

*Greeting from Russia! Very good content. I was in Norway ten years ago. There is so beautiful nature!*
Thank you HCG.
Beautiful
a very fascinating night travel
Glad you enjoyed it!
j'adore vos video
Yeah my favourite is back!
The avalanche warning restriction is at +15:24 to +24:40
Congratulations I like all yours vidéos, tak HCG!

I thought the seats looked strange...don't want you getting too comfortable. lol.
EEEEEE !!! Another early morning quick pitter patter trip thru the snow to get to the engine ! looks like a Little Squirrel has traveled this path before......
No snooze cruise here 😁that was really nice.
Hey! Have you ever encountered an animal? To moose, reindeer, etc. Have a safe trip to you😍😍

15:05 is cool !!! :D vuuush * * * * * * * * * * *
Cowgirls can be very, very fast - if they so choose 🐰surprisingly so, considering the early hour ❤️

Long tunnel between Voss and Bulken!
What time does it get light there? I kept expecting to see some sort of daylight.
Sunrise in Bergen tomorrow (March 3rd) is 7.33 am. It would have been slightly later than that when this video was shot.
While we're in a tunnel...how far out do you know what train you're driving? Do you bid? How long before a departure do you have to pick up and position your train?

What is the temperature inside the train when you start early in the morning?
Between 15 and 20°C
That's almost comfortable even for this desert dweller!
Have you ever seen any Trolls there?)
How many passengers u get on that early route?..seems like everyone still asleep..
The train has coffee vending machines... that is pretty cool (Where I come from anyway...)
I hope your bosses are giving you a large bonus for superb pr job you do for the Norwegian rail network.
LOL! I wish ;)
Hlo hcg i am from India but very few passengers in Norwegian trains . Why? Please tell me.
What time did you start this trip?
Is the large machine you pass before the cab entrance, some kind of vending machine?
That 3/2 seating on these new trains seems cramped.
Norwegian is slim. We had this on steam trains in 3rd class with wood seating
Incredible 🤩 For the first time I see a night drive from the train driver's deck. Plus, in such wonderful conditions.
By the way, a small suggestion to give the current location and speed in the movie.
Greetings from Warsaw 👍🏼
do you ever see animals on or near track
Not often but we see them :D
It looks like a peace of paper.
Was that a Fox which jumped onto the line about 1:23 ?

In one video you see a snow blower on standby.
So, and now I know why absolutely no snow fell with us. The Norwegians have kept that to themselves. These egotists. 😂😂❤
heh heh
Heheheh! HERE TAKE IT! HAHAHA!
This truck driver says you can drive me anywhere. Just as long as I get to look out the window.
Why does the engineer honk the horn everytime the tram passes a yellow diamond with a black across it.
This is not a tram, this is a train. The yellow diamond shaped sign is there to tell the driver to sound the horn.
It's a level crossing, a train station or just for fun 😅 (kidding)
Great video. All that snow. My part of world we moan if there's less than an inch.
why did you go so slow around 19 min part
Read the description in the video :) the one in capital letters saying Avalanche Detection System triggered. :)
It looks like a dining car on the train, what kind of food drink offering do they have on the train?
With Many Thanks as always!!
Not a dining car on this train :) But on the reginal train they have a dining car, where they sell warm and cold food, dinner, snacks, warm and cold beverages, snacks and pastries. :)
Lovely couches unlike the British one's
А где там туалет? WC?
😀

I'm not sure which video you're referring to :) Do you mean this one you commented on or another video?
RailCowGirl This one and the Windy Day local service Myrdahl to Voss which I commented on yesterday.
Since this train is two train-sets there must be at least three people for the crew-you and two conductors or ticket collectors, correct?
It depends if the second train set is open for passengers or not :) it could be closed one way due to little demand, and opened in Bergen before heading in the other direction again.
Sorry wrong time, should be 1:08,15
1:14:35 was that a rabbit between the rails?
Nope ;) that was either a plastic bag or a sheet of paper in the tunnel :)
There is no passenger...
No need to speedup the walking ;)
;)
NSB … Norwegian Super Bad?
Norges Stats Baner (Norwegian State Railway)
No, norvegia supar boy
At about 1:08:10, is it an animal falling down from left side on the track ? 😮😯😶
🌷🌿🐮😃👏😊✌🐮🌿🌷
Haha! no, just water on the windshield :)

All & Nothing Strange how the mind works. The light spot was shoe soles in my immediate interpretation.
@@david_1704 No raccoons in Norway! :-)
