I turned 81 this October, and it has been decades since I was aboard a train. I would love to be aboard one like this one and experiencing weather and its sounds and sights like those of this video. Maybe someday, before my life ends ... carp'e diem.
I remember taking a night train from a city in Switzerland to Milan and it was wonderful . . I couldn't sleep so I pulled the curtain back. And with the moon beaming I could see the silhouette of the mountains. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life.
I grew up near a old train transfer station in the Far East Russia, every night I fell a sleep hearing the train come and go, thank you for filming this, I felt I was back in my childhood again.
I used to live two blocks up the hill from the mbta. In the summer I’d hear the squeaky wheels and the trains traveling along. It took a long time to fall asleep when I moved away.
I feel the exact same way when i see the moors of my homeland and quaint valley towns.. I wish i could feel the nostalgia you feel for these trains as much as I wish I could share the gulf winds breaking on the peaks of fold mountains
I suffered from insomnia for about 4 years, my body and brain were really tired all the time, but I couldn't sleep more than 1 or 2 hours per day. I suffered from terrible hair loss. I had really long hair but it almost completely fell off. My bones hurt and my hormones got imbalanced. And one day few months ago I was home alone and I felt tired but couldn't sleep, so I searched UA-cam and found this (I tried many relaxing videos, sounds etc.)maybe less than 10 minutes into this I fell asleep. I woke up around 18 hours later. My mom thought I died cos she couldn't wake me up. Since then I don't dare to sleep without this. Im feeling much better now. Thank you for this! ❤❤
My dad passed in 2000. He was a railroad man 36 years and was part of a crew for Amtrak from Springfield, MA to White River Jct, VT for over 10 years. He loved his job with the passion of a small boy who loved and dreamed of 'working on the railroad' and never lost it. He is forever walking through the cars, "Bellows Falls, off for Bellows Falls....". Thank you for these gentle memories.
My grandfather worked for the Santa Fe railroad for 40 years (he lived in Kansas). Whenever I hear stories about others working for the railroad I always think of him.
Hey stranger.... We'll probably never meet but : Take a deep breathe and let your anxiety dissolve, clean your mind. You deserve happiness. May you and your family spend a great time in this life...
Why have I been listening to this as background for the last hour? why is it so comforting, so reasuring? Who cares if this train never arrives.. It's the journey, people!
I just came home from a four-day three-night stay in the hospital. I listened to this every night to sleep. It was very comforting, and drowned out all the machines. (And honestly, the length didn't matter, they woke me up every two hours anyway and I'd start it over.) Thanks.
@mattchurch I think it is also peaceful maybe it takes us back to a time when life was more slowed down. @trickshot77 I’m sure you have some interesting stories! We live near a train and my daughter and I were just talking about all the crazy things that I’m sure conductors have seen.
I once took an Amtrak from Ohio to Arizona and back again. We passed through the rocky mountains during the winter. I drank champagne in the viewing car at night and looked at the stars. It was a memory I'll never forget! ❤

I love to watch this, especially during the summer months when the heat and humidity get to me. For a short period, I'm in the past on a train ride. There is nothing more to do than relax and just be. The window is chilly, but I'm warm bundled up and sipping a warm drink. Occasionally, I'll see a deer lift their head as we go by. I LOVE to ride the train!!!❤❤❤ I haven't taken a plane since 1975. Trains are so soothing and relaxing. Civilized. Of course, I haven't been able to travel for years due to money problems. Plus we've had medical problems. My husband died almost a year ago and I am stuck. No car, don't drive anyhow. I sure would like to take a train trip again sometime. My dream is NYC at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. We took a train on our honeymoon and did some trips with our girls when they were younger out West and back East to New York State where my husband was from. Many happy memories, so naturally this is very relaxing. I don't like a quiet home since I live alone. This is perfect for me. Jacque from Nebraska 😅

The unfortunate world of UA-cam, they can put ads on your videos without your permission, even 100% original content, they’ve done it to me, thankfully this is not the case here 😴
For the last couple years, I've listened to this exact video to sleep. I love the train sounds, taking train trips. The railroad ties remind me of a heart-beat. Click-clack... click-clack... clickety-clack
this is my favorite train asmr video during Covid lockdown i was home alone for some months i would sleep in the living room and put this on my big tv so i could hear it and looked at the screen sometimes it helped me not to feel lonely and to sleep!🌹
Forty years ago I took the train from Thompson to Churchill in Canada, about a 13 hour ride over muskeg. It was supposed to be a no-smoking car, but the lady behind me was chain-smoking the whole way. This is so much more pleasant!
Pure Sacred Reality I did ask, but that didn’t stop her, and my dad told me it was impolite. I think she was an Inuit, and that was her only means of travel from one village to the next. The train made several stops along the way, usually to let one or two people on or off. Not always at a station, sometimes all I could see was a light off in the woods. A fascinating train ride. We arrived in Churchill on Aug 1, the first day that the ice had cleared and the port was opened to shipping.
To whoever is reading this: thank you for being strong and making it this far. Please keep going. Whether you know it or not, whether you feel it or not, the world needs you. And it is a better place with you in it. I hope this can bring you a bit of respite. If it doesn't...just know you're not alone in feeling this way, and I hope at the very least that brings you a bit of comfort.❤💛💙👻
This video makes me feel like I am in my cabin on the Ark Train called Snowpiercer, just staring out into the frozen wasteland at my window, hearing the harsh cold winds of the Freeze that blow against the train. Giving a sense of dread as the great white death surrounds me, being inches away from me from a thick sheet of glass, that will then freeze me solid in seconds if it were to ever give away. Yet I hear the rattling of the train-tracks, the hum of the Eternal Engine powering the very heat that keeps me warm, all reminding me that the train is still moving, carrying the last survivors of humanity safely across the dead frozen world. All reminding me that I am safe, and I can rest easy in my bed, as I lay in my comfortable blanket, next to heater, all while feeling the wheels of my carriage rattle against the frozen tracks. I even dreamed about this once. Thank you for this great video, it helps me sleep well at night.
This takes me back to a journey on the trans Siberian when I travelled overland to Thailand about ten years ago, it was Chinese New Year time. Wonderful time.
To anyone reading this comment, I hope you have a great day today! Relax, you deserve a break! You can do whatever you put your mind to! Wishing you the best of luck
This appeals at several levels to me. It resonates with my leanings towards escapism and isolation from the world. Cruising has a similar vibe for me. The gentle rocking on rail and at sea is so soothing but the almost white noise of the rail trip is useful for my tinnitus. An enjoyable bit of ASMR for me. Thanks.
This gives me Polar Express vibes.. Like my childhood dream came true. I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where it was based, and asked my mom every Christmas eve.. "When will the polar express come?" The thing is, that movie's only 1month and 28days younger than me.
I lived my a railroad in Saskatchewan a long time in my life and the second I feel the vibrations of a train and hear the sounds of it’s horn instantly pleases me it’s like an old friend no matter how fast it’s going by or how loud it’s horn is blowing I feel like I could fall asleep as one passes by
The Long Dark is my favourite game to chill to because of the cozy "blizzard outside, storm lantern and a tin of pork & beans inside, somehow I'll survive this" feeling. Blizzard/storm Sounds through a window/wooden walls are the essence of feeling protected for me, I can let go for a moment. This experience in a train is very different but feels just as great. Thank you!
Amazing for reading if you struggle with concentration! I have a hard time tuning things out and music is distracting. This is the perfect white noise! It covers up the sounds of voices, and keeps you at ease during you're reading
I grew up traveling on trains since my Father worked for the railroad, this brings back some of my best memories, the sound of the rails under you is so very peaceful and something I’ll never forget Thank You for this peaceful video 🙏
I have Severe ptsd due to growing up In a crummy area going through 3 different home invasions getting shot three time and paralyzed in my last home invasion I use this to sleep every night it keeps me grounded it brings me back to being young with my train set thank you.
Listening to this in Arizona, it feels like another world, I love this video so much, it’s just calm and cold, just the way I like it, I would love to take a train journey that lasts for days on day, maybe across Europe to see the landscape and the lives of others. That’s the dream
My nostalgia brought me here cuz this reminds me of my grandparents house near the train station I used to hear this sounds a lot especially at night so i kinda used to it and now i moved on to my parents house and the sound of the train still come to my mind at night so here it is this video helped me a lot especially for my sleep 🤍
Oh I just found this! I love this channel ❤️💙. Thick blanket, fluffy pillow, hot cocoa. And just watching the snow and trees. Freezing cold outside but toasty warm inside. The gentle rocking of the train. And the long but comfortable journey home. No drama, no politics, no fighting. Surrounded by friends and family. Making new friends and having wonderful conversation! 3 am in Cali now. The heat, fires and political climate. Covid 19. A train trip to a magical place. Welcome to the Hogwarts Express! ALL ABOARD!
Of all the train videos on UA-cam, this is my fave..just a nice constant, no distractions, easy to fall asleep to and read whilst listening in the background..perfect..thanks for uploading.
Ah this is nice just laying here listening to this train noise and also for the howling that's coming through the train. Thanks train driver for driving the train
I used to have a ton of cassette tapes and cd's of just train sounds when I was a kid. I'd upload them if I still had them. sadly they were destroyed in a flood
Thank you so much for this. I have two trains that run immediately past my house so this is a constant sound. When I travel it's so hard to sleep without the sound of trains, and something like this does a lot to help. :)
The film is from Finland and most probably the original sound track (pun!) too! Sadly, the tracks have welded seams nowadays and clacking has ceased. The howling wind is added later. However, if the howling was a bit lower, it would resemble the atmosphere of the carriage vestibules. Finland is, however, not a big place. There might have been some legs between two stations over one hour, but really, not too many. But this is actually a good part of my youth soundscape, coming back from my father's late in the Sunday evening in more or less deserted train.
I’m from north Italy , my mom’s family is in the south Italy and when my and my sister were child we were always taking the train with my mom to go there, this reminded me lovely moments that I’ll never forget and they always will be in my heart ❤️
I always loved travel by train and I did quite a lot especially when I was a boy. I loved the rocking , the wheels making noises, the wind, and the atmosphere that only a train can create. Thank you , listening to this video it is really relaxing and let you fall asleep!
Normally I'm a basic "calming thunder storm, 10 hour version" person but I'm so glad I found this because I was in Europe for the summer and quickly realized that trains put me to sleep INSTANTANEOUSLY - so much so that it would be dangerous to travel alone because I would never wake up when it was my stop. Even if we were just taking the metro for ten minutes, I'd pass out. I even fell asleep sitting on the floor between traincars. Now I can safely pass out listening to cozy train noises without the fear of missing a stop and ending up in the wrong city after all the trains have stopped for the night.
Quando ero piccolo con la mia famiglia facevamo dei lunghi viaggi in treno. Viaggiavamo perlopiù di notte. Ricordo ancora quelle magnifiche dormite. Ora se chiudo gli occhi torno a quei tempi. Magnifico video. Grazie

Its got under floor heating from the coal it just takes fifteen minutes to circulate to the cabins. A nice mild heat..not too hot or to cold..I think you can opt for blackout thermal curtains too. .
Absolutely love this train ride. Reminds me of my 3 daughters and I all comfortable and cozy. We took a 34 hour trip on amtrak and loved it. Thank you for sharing ❤❤❤❤
Man I almost missed this train with so much going on and oh my cabin looks so nice. Its so cozy. Im about to do nothing but bundle up under some warm covers and relax. I dont want to disturb everyone else who is doing the same. Mmmmm hmmmmm 😴
Used to this sound in the old train with a narrow tracks. The new electric train makes different sound and more quieter. But have lots of memory with the old one as my father used to work there and we used to travel for free. Thank you for this awesome recording.

Reading the comments makes me even more happy. Makes me feel not alone and I love to hear other peoples stories ❤
Thanks for sharing. Glad it helps. 💗🙏
Hugs to you and your baby. They'll grow so fast 🥰
Bebeğiniz 4 ay daha büyüdü. Umarım hepiniz sağlıklısınızdır. Herkesin kendi kabini olan bu trende, size de güzel bir gece yokculuğu dilerim.
We are all listening to you. You are not alone and we sit in the next cabin.
Warm and cosy on the sleeper to Christmas. Can't wait to get there.
Right now as you're watching this, there are hundreds or thousands experiencing this live.
Thanks! It was great to "pause" here and think about that. Another world on the same 🌎. Right now, 2020 I'm in a tropical storm in Miami...
Experiencing a 15 second loop repeating itself? I think not.

The uploader is the MVP for his lack of ads.
I listen to this most nights to help me fall asleep, and I've never once had an ad.

The unfortunate world of UA-cam, they can put ads on your videos without your permission, even 100% original content, they’ve done it to me, thankfully this is not the case here 😴
Ooooh, this is perfect! 😲😍
I'm listening to this while drinking tea and reading "Murder on the Orient Express" by candlelight. ☕📚🕯😌 Thank you!
You're welcome. Enjoy. 😊
So cozy
Perfect
Can't explain how much I love this.
🙄🤔🤣🤣🤣🙏😍
For the last couple years, I've listened to this exact video to sleep. I love the train sounds, taking train trips. The railroad ties remind me of a heart-beat. Click-clack... click-clack... clickety-clack
Glad you liked it. Enjoy. 🙏😊
Watching and listening to this relaxing video during coronavirus “lockdown” in USA.
Hope you enjoyed it! 💙
Me too only I don't live in the USA but in Germany.
Reminds me of the movie " Dr. Zhivago" ! Thanx!
You're very welcome. 😊
Yes!,
this is my favorite train asmr video during Covid lockdown i was home alone for some months i would sleep in the living room and put this on my big tv so i could hear it and looked at the screen sometimes it helped me not to feel lonely and to sleep!🌹

Awww yea Thompson born and raised.
you should have had her smokin' ass kicked off the train!
@@jamessancimino why would they kick a smoker off a train 40 years ago? lmao. You could still smoke in restaurants and pubs like 10-15 years ago..
Yeah smoking is a stinky habit, only the smoking don't notice how stinky they are.
This video is much like *MY LIFE*
full steam ahead, and never actually getting anywhere.., smilin' & enjoyin' the ride... ✌️
Good one! 😊
😂
You're welcome. Thanks for sharing. Wishing you all the best. 🙏😊

This takes me back to a journey on the trans Siberian when I travelled overland to Thailand about ten years ago, it was Chinese New Year time. Wonderful time.
Wow , what a crazy train of paradise I love it where we going next 🤣✌️🌹

This appeals at several levels to me. It resonates with my leanings towards escapism and isolation from the world. Cruising has a similar vibe for me. The gentle rocking on rail and at sea is so soothing but the almost white noise of the rail trip is useful for my tinnitus. An enjoyable bit of ASMR for me. Thanks.
You're welcome. Thanks for visiting and sharing. 😊
Perfect. Now I have something to listen to whilst I write "The Midnight Express" to give me that 72-hour freezing train journey feeling
What ever do you mean you do freezer spells
This is beautiful ! Just give me a warm blanket, hot cocoa, and a book and I would be in heaven on earth.

This gives me Polar Express vibes..
Like my childhood dream came true.
I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where it was based, and asked my mom every Christmas eve.. "When will the polar express come?"
The thing is, that movie's only 1month and 28days younger than me.
Some of my fav movies still
The locomotive used in that movie is kept and maintained just a couple hours east of you in Owosso.
xøғʀɴᴋ I love that movie. Best 3-D movie, I saw it in Sacramento, CA with friends when it came out. We were enthralled.

Such wonderful comments that put a smile on my face. Sleep well fellow travelers. Sleep well.

You're very observant. Of course! The passengers should be sleeping undisturbed. 🥱😴
That would be embarrassing. I don't have any :D
But I heard him say: Tickets please.

my body rocks the moment I hear train noise... and it's not even intentionally.
I used to have a ton of cassette tapes and cd's of just train sounds when I was a kid. I'd upload them if I still had them. sadly they were destroyed in a flood
Love the positive waves x
I fall asleep with this sound. It reminds me of my childhood, when my mother use to hold me tight during the night, in the train.
Thanks for visiting and sharing. 🙏
Thank you so much for this. I have two trains that run immediately past my house so this is a constant sound. When I travel it's so hard to sleep without the sound of trains, and something like this does a lot to help. :)
You're welcome. Glad it helped! 😊
Thanks for visiting and sharing. 😊
Thank you so much for this. Now all I need is my bed to rock slightly from side to side with the sound from the tracks and I could sleep for days.
Have fun. 🙏😊

I always loved travel by train and I did quite a lot especially when I was a boy. I loved the rocking , the wheels making noises, the wind, and the atmosphere that only a train can create. Thank you , listening to this video it is really relaxing and let you fall asleep!

Beautiful and so relaxing. 💜
Thank you! 😊 Enjoy.
Thanks for visiting and sharing. 🙏
