These videos should be sponsored by Norwegian Tourism boards. Makes me want to see Norway.
Trump wants to buy Norway too. Just over the water from Greenland
I've been to Stavanger in the spring but would LOVE to go further North in the winter and see some REAL snow!
ken rudge I’d vote for that!
@@kenrudge8002 Cool, I wish I could buy it too
❤️
I watch them to go to sleep or just to relax. I love trains!
I do the same. They help me unwind and fall asleep.
Me 3.
Me too..
Me too👍
My absolute favorite thing to do every Christmas is watch this video. It has become my night time tradition. ❤️
I'm happy to hear that! Thanks for including my video in your traditions! All the best for 2021!
I LOVE these videos. The scenery is always so peaceful. And it makes me wish we had good train service like this in America. Thank you!
Was thinking the same earlier in video - New Zealand Rail could learn a lot from this. :)
Adam Dubois We do have great rail service in America.
BLiF, there is a whole video explaining why trains in america suck if you didn’t know.
Cross country train service in the US is prohibitively expensive.
We really need to push for this in the US...
Ive never seen a train with a playroom and coffee machines in the carriages. And a decent buffet car. Your trains are far better than ours in the UK.
Is it wrong that I've watched this route so many times in various videos I can almost begin to anticipate locations, tunnels and speed changes?!?! Thank you for another wonderful trip.
Becoming a pro! ;)
After a day like today in the office, I think I'd trade my tie for a driver uniform right now.
CG Tower I would appreciate if you could identify the towns along the right of way. That is how I learned my geography. Ciao
The train journeys are hypnotising...Like you I have watched them several times. I find the journeys very relaxing.
So do I MIchael.
This is my FAVORITE of all "Train Driver's View" videos! I especially love the ending into the bright lights of the train station against the snowy evening sky. The only thing that would make it better is to see one of those folks at the station holding up a sign reading "Hello, Bill! Merry Christmas!" :) Thanks for this great video.
My favourite also Bill
Thank you for the train tour at the beginning. I just love your videos.
Yes! I have seen the other video, the official one done by the railway, and I was always wondering what the trains look like inside and out. Very cool and we hope to get out there one day and travel the line.
I love how, in these videos, the train just ploughs through snow drifts covering the track like it's nothing. In my neck of the woods (South Wales, UK) our trains grind to a halt and can be delayed for hours, and even cancelled, for something so simple as wet leaves on the track. It's actually kinda sad, really... Two or three inches of snow can bring the whole of Britain to a standstill.
Welcome to Norway! Where the Vikings have dealt with snow for centuries ;) Thanks for watching!
I’ll never see Norway, but, you have made it possible to visit from the comfort of my chair. And, you have made it possible for me to appreciate the expertise in dealing with snow country (I mean REAL snow country!) Thank you HCG. For some reason, I feel I’ve known you all of my life. Your yankee sister.
Wowsers, words fail me! What a gorgeous winter wonderland! And to see the train glide over the snow with no tracks visible! Just awesome, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you for watching!
Greetings from North Central Ohio.My mother's parents came to the U.S.A. 102 years ago from Bergen. I have never been to Norway but watching your videos makes me feel like I have been there.
Watching this have made me realize that there is light at the end of the tunnel, thanks.
Things are always darkest before they go completely black
Everything has an end, except for a tunnel which has two.
@@oscarbear1043 Ferrocarrill andino Peru has a switchback tunnel that ends in rock!
I have enjoyed watching all your videos from when I started watching them on December 18th 2017. I really do think you have done a wonderful job with the video making and given pleasure to boundless people all over the world. I live in Bangkok so it is a wonderful pastime to watch a snow bound country while sitting-in my living room with the air con full on. I have also shown your videos to people who have never seen snow and they have also enjoyed your videos. I have a personal interest in Norway because I had several friends from Norway while I was at university and consequently visited your country a few times in the late sixties and early seventies. The visits were thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks you so much for your videos and for taking us through the Norwegian Countryside on your train.
the slow progression to an ever more snowy scenario was great. now i can't wait for our next snowstorm.
What lovely weather
for a train ride together
with you.....!
Giddy up,
Giddy up,
Let's go...!
What is it about trains? They just seem to have this natural calming effect 😌 😴 ☺
I've asked for images of the train you were driving, etc. in the past and am so happy that you have provided the excellent coverage. The train is superb! Thank you!
Thank You for the little tour of the coaches, and your breakdown of the voyage - it helps me feel more part of it! :-)
This sure uplifts my spirits. Breath taking scenery...Great stuff!!
Love your views on the train system, thank you so big, will in Florida
Bad weather? This is great weather!
“Normal” people call it bad, people like you and Call it great 👍🏼 😂
Hooray! I love the ones with wipers!! Thank you so much for taking the time to put these up. Sometimes work is so dreary, and your videos help lighten my load.
RailCowGirl: Thank you for the walk-through. More photos of equipment, and explain again the signals please.
The trains and the railroad are so clean and beautiful It must be a real pleasure to work there.
Come to the US to see what bad trains, equipment and tracks look like.
Oh and could you show the inside of your cab, too. I would love to see what that looks like.
Watching this on Christmas Day. Enjoying the rain; it feels like it's falling on my face. Thanks for this gorgeous and calming video.
I'm watching at 2x speed and when the tracks are covered in snow it's like flying through the mountains in a hovercraft.
Thank you to the train conductor for such an awesome video that will go down as one of my favorites
Magnificent scenery - thank you for sharing.
Beautiful places covered with snow and more snow...had goosebumps when train was running on white tracks 😁
Very addictive... We have really been enjoying this video since we found it.💕
Great vidio best cab ride I've ever watched these railways by far the best engineering I've ever seen on a railway must have took years tunneling and laying that rail bed absolutely brilliant thanks for sharing jeff uk
Nice train tour at the beginning. This is one of my favorite HCG videos.
Thank you internet, I am now addicted to these.
That was amazing! Thank you so very much. I love watching your videos. Cheers
Great video HCG, just love the smoothness and efficiency of the Norwegian railways. I loved 1:21:31, the Youth Hostel at Voss, stayed there for one night in the summer on the way to kayak in Naeroyfjord. Epic scenery, and a bit warmer that your video :)
Another great and enjoyable video - many thanks. Good looking locomotives too!
Thank you very much for this beautiful journey. Wonderful winter landscapes !
Thank you so much!
Oh, this video is very intense. I have mixed feelings. In the second half of the video when is snowing, the homes and christmas trees are light up everywhere, that is imagine BUT you're in the cab and ride a hundreds kilometers from home...
Thanks you HinduCow and all who serve for Christmas and other free days, to get people home to families.
THANKS! By in safe
Another great video...the inclement weather brings its own unique beauty to this scenic trip. Always look forward to your posts. Takk!
I know you'll probably never see this but I'm going to say it anyhow thank you for walking through the cars.
Surprise, I do see it ;) ❤️
wow. from grass to snow on opposite sides of a tunnel. amazing. love it
Thank you @railCowGirl for this terrific Xmas video which I watched for the first time this Xmas. I am totally entranced by your journeys. This is the closest my 1/4 Norwegian blood will ever get to journeying through this beautiful country. Tusen taak!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it :D
Thanks for the info on the Loco, different types of carriages and tunnels!
Great video. I've watched about half it and plan on finishing it tomorrow. However already I've seen some beautiful sites. I love how the tracks, villages are right along the river. Just beautiful. I'd love to be able to ride on this line one day. Thanks for the train tour as well. Again, great video.
Fantastic! I like to watch your videos on a widescreen tv if possible - they are really interesting. Thanks for the details of tunnels, stations etc. Keep posting!
thx for the info and for showing what the train looked like :-)
Every time I watch one of your videos I learn or see something new. Like I never really noticed how these trains looked inside omg if we had trains like these everyone would use them. Actually as crowded as highways are here they should get these but doubt I will ever see that happen in my time lol. Wow so comfortable and got's everything for your customers. Traveling in style fantastic Again another awesome video. Hope you had a nice Christmas anyway. :) P. S. My birthday day after Christmas 26th :) Looking forward to more videos..
Thank you for the walk through! What beautiful trains you have!
Thanks, glad you like it!
Love these videos. Thank you.
Du har fina videos som visar detaljer som är mycket intressanta, det är sällsynt. Tack för din effort!
Tusen takk!
These Fjords are something truly unique.
This and the Spring videos with rushing waters are probably your best productions.
Congratulations.
Glad you like them! ❤️
Another excellent video!!! Same here, thank you for the train tour at the beginning ! Thank you for sharing!!! :):):)
How eerie to walk through a deserted train
BIG LIKE! Love the presentations of carts, maneouvres and stations. Keep up this good work!
Nice tour, thank you very very much..
Great! Thanks, fellow! Recently I climbed a snowy mountain like this. And as the loco's sanding equipment didn't work, every moving off was great challenge, several times I had to move the train back. For 100 km I made nearly 1 hour delay.
Hello, I think your stress levels on a journey like this one must be very high. Thank you for sharing what you do, it is very much appreciated. Happy new year, take care. Greetings from Yorkshire UK.
Not really :)
I’m in the South of the USA, used to live in the North, and ski in Quebec, Canada all Winter. Needless to say, I miss snow. I watch this video at night often, with an iPad close to my face, in total darkness, and earbuds. Geez, it’s just like being there. You can actually trick your mind, if you do this for the whole three hours, into cooling yourself off. I love seeing everyone standing at the station with all their luggage, coming and going from a skiing holiday. I pretend I’m there with them. Great videos!
I love these videos and would love to be able to travel on one of these trips one day. I also use these videos as a way to help me to sleep when I can't (which is often) they are so beautiful and I just set the TV to turn off after 90 minutes which usually works, it's also nice to turn on the TV when I wake and find another video playing which I watch while getting ready for work.
This I think was one of, if not my favorite. Loved the tunnels! I work for the MoW and I couldn't imagine servicing inside there. Thank you for the videos.
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
The images of these trips are incredible I love congratulations.
Thank you very much!
Another great video! :) I understand that you need to be extra cautious in this kind of weather, but cinematic quality of this ride is fantastic!
Sitting under the air-conditioning watching this during the summer in Australia is AMAZING! ... if I concentrate really hard I can almost forget I'm sweating my balls off XD
Me too mate. Cheers
I wish my frozen nuts were roasting instead. 🤪
😂 Same as in the Summer on the Gulf Coast of the US.
Looks like they didn't have to dream of a white Christmas. 😃
Those trains look so clean and tidy. Norway must be a nice place to live.
It is a very nice place to live :D
UFF DA! One marvelous and spectacular video, HCG! Thank you! I'm freezing and think I will go watch a video taken in the tropics! Caribbean! Somewhere warm! BRR!
Haha! Hmm.. UFF DA! The phrase I laughed about when I was dining at the Crazy Norwegian in Port Orford, OR :)
Of course I had the "Uff da"-burger :p
Thank you for the ride.
I find the cab view very relaxing and I go into a sort of trance - probably induced by the monotony anodyne. I love the start when he's making his way through the train to get to his cab at the front. At some point he realises that he's going to be late so he gets off the train and starts running. Someone should have taken him aside and said "No point in running, old boy - you can't miss the train because you're driving it"
Love these videos, they help me sleep. The noise of the wiper is reminiscent of the old joined track. I miss that rhythm of the rails.
Thanks for this very interesting video!!
So amazing. Esp after 1.33.01 Excellent vid. Also love it when I see people out x-country skiing, and Christmas light on the homes.
1:33:01 is the way to write UA-cam time.
this is a special treat for us especially on christmas . takk skal du ha .
Tusen takk!
Videos like these are what made me go to Norway this year to take the train from Oslo to Bergen. It's beautiful.
Great to hear!
What a great video. Many thanks.
Such a long watch ... not sure why - other than it was awesome. Cold but beautiful. Think I need to add this to the b bucket list :) Thank you
Long Trains = Long Routes
I love these videos keep doing this work
I love this channel. I have been away for a while, but I’m so glad it exists.
Glad to have you back :D
One of my favourite of you videos, I've watched it dozens of times. I love when you finally pull into Ål Station, it looks so magical, a slight shame it cuts off so abruptly at the end.
I know :) This was before I started doing the exteriors when the trains leaves the station etc :)
Nice!! Amazing scenery, colleague. I would love to ride there. :-)
Thank´s!
Love the Tour through the cars, that is one long train
Love the public safety warning due to skier near the tracks ~1:57:31.
thank you for the tour of your train. nice vid.
Thank you! 🙏❤
you gave an idea how beautiful Norway is especially winter time,i should visit your country soon!
Fantastic views! Very beautiful.
I love snowy days, and when train is passing between the snowy land,it seems beautiful 💗💖💗💖💖💓
Your videos are my favorites. I find them so relaxing. The help me falling asleep at night. Thanks for the train tour at the beginning.
This is good to see and a train actually moving in bad weather.
Here in the UK they always have pathetic excuses, services will be disrupted due to leaves or snow on the lines??
Great video 😀👍
Voila un joli voyage bien au chaud dans son salon et une p'tite bière à la main. Merci pour le voyage.
Makes me wish I had been a train driver now !! These video's are fantastic, thank you !!
Glad you like them! Thank you!
Thank you for your videos.
So lovely, it's a amazing virtual trip 😄❤️
Thank you!
I love these videos....the scenery is spectacular...!!!!....thank you....
Thank you so much!
An interesting trip through the snow. I only ever saw snow once and it was between Lithgow and Bathurst from a train and seeing cows with hills of snow on their backs. We are about an hour East od snow in Winter, here or 300 miles north West of it in the Southern alps on the NSW and Victorian border in Australia. Well done.
Thank you so so much
Thank you! 😃
Really amazing! A nice video. Thanks ;)
Thank you!
Thank you for working on Christmas day. I hope you still had a Merry Christmas.
Thank you! I did. Hope you did too!
@@RailCowGirl I did, but things have gone downhill since. My life exploded. I'm dealing with coming to grips with PTSD and my resultant anxiety and depression. I also have a vicious cyclic sleep disorder that makes these problems worse. Focusing on treating myself and being there for my family. I have to overcome this to be there for them.
Your camera glitch at 2:18:30 makes it look like a sci fi movie and now your train is going to go through a space time warp and end in another part of the galaxy!!😄
With the name Helvig you can guess my heritage. The closest I have ever been to Norway however is flying from London to Seattle we flew over the west coast of Norway. I love trains since I was a boy in the 40/50's and took Amtrak from Phoenix to Springfield MA, just last week. Thanks for a rail side tour.
Another great video.
I sympathise having to work on Christmas Day, I worked in the hotel industry and worked Christmas Day for 20yrs.😢
Excellent videos! Thanks!
