  • Does your Polaris RZR have a bad vibration coming from the driveline? If so, a bad u-joint, carrier bearing, or prop shaft could be the culprit. If any of these problems goes untouched for too long you could be left stranded out on the trail.
In this video Charles shows the proper steps to inspecting and replacing the driveshaft on a 2014 Polaris RZR XP 1000.

To add info and maybe help someone. On my ‘19 turbo 4 seater, you had to remove that heat shield and loosen the 10mm bolt that holds the coolant lines. Once you’ve separated the center it all slides out nicely. The rear came out the rear and the front come out the bottom. I did pull the clutch cover but don’t know if it was necessary. Only plastic that needed removed was the console in the back seat. I also used a 15mm wrench to loosen the drinker side carrier bolt from the bottom.

If you have a RZR 1000S, BEWARE. The rear shaft doesn't magically (not actually shown being removed) come out like they say in the video. It might come out the bottom but not sure of that either. Also, be very careful pressing out the u-joints, the yokes bend easily.

It came out just like the video on my 2021 xp 1000 did everything just like the video except for installing a new pin in front.....I used a 5/16 fine threaded bolt with lock nut and red loctite.

The metal around the actually bearing would stay on the bearing. I removed them. I couldn’t get the rubber boot on because of them sliding off the bearing.

Yeah, ours was pretty easy but we didn't have any corrosion to deal with. Are you having problems with something? -Charles

On the transmission output shaft it doesn't matter if it's lined up I'm assuming don't need to mark

Yeah, like the video says, the marks are just to phase (u-joints all lined up correctly). Front needs to line up with the roll pin holes, rear doesn't matter.

Once you get roll pin out. Replace it with a stainless 5/16 bolt and lock nut

I did took out the roll pin (RZR 1000S) with an air hammer and it still took about 2 hours before it finally let loose. Definitely not an easy task.

I've seen on other videos for the RZR 1000 XP, that there is a metal shield over the rear portion of the Front Prop shaft that needed to come out before back half of the front Prop shaft will come out.. Is that metal shield not required to be removed?

Depends on how you ride. Rzrs in our Group got 3- 4k on them no problems. I only replaced mine because it was out for u joints at 2800 miles.

@@WilleJamesHuff how do you get so many miles outa it?? mine is at 350 and needs a replacement

@@floridamangonwild it depends on how it’s drove honestly. I worked at a Polaris dealer. I seen completely one side to the other of abuse and hard riding and then ones taken care of and not abused.
