    This look suits this piece. I like that you kept it antique looking. It has a simple vintage charm that I could see adding a vintage lace runner on top with a decorative oil lamp.

    I saw this on IG and was skeptical in the beginning because it said only 2 products and had the before pic first. How amazing--great job! I am highly impressed. And just subbed! I look forward to seeing more.

    Absolutely loving the black wash look. This piece turned out so beautiful. I am so glad you used the hemp oil. I actually have some of Dixie Bells, but I haven’t used it yet. I have a raw wood credenza that I want to put it on. I think it be perfect. It needs some kind of protection. And I don’t mind if it darkens it or even ambers it a little. It. Probably will be prettier! Thanks for the information. I really appreciate it.

    I love this one and I have a dresser that was my grandpa’s that I’d like to do but, I’d like a more satin finish. What would you recommend to do that?
    Thank you Connie. I love watching you videos. You are so fun.

    • @faffdesigns
      @faffdesigns  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you! Instead of sealing with Howdy Do Hemp Oil, you could seal it with Satin Clear Coat which would give you a satin finish rather than matte 😀

    Hi! This is gorgeous. Do you think you could do this with a tan paint wash and get a nice result over a previous dark stain?

    • @faffdesigns
      @faffdesigns  7 днів тому

      Hi! Yea you can absolutely use this technique with any colour paint but the results will obviously vary depending on the original finish of the piece. It would be best to test a small area first to make sure it goes how to want it to 😀

    What type of paint should I use? I’m about to remove gloss white paint from a corner cabinet and then black wash it. I’m gonna try this.

    Great tutorial. If you are selling a piece finished with hemp oil, how long do you allow the piece to cure and what instructions to you suggest for the customer?

    • @faffdesigns
      @faffdesigns  2 роки тому +1

      Glad you liked it! It depends how quickly the Hemp Oil is absorbed by the surface. It cures after 30 days so light use is advised until that time.

    Why did you choose hemp oil and not another sealer?

    • @faffdesigns
      @faffdesigns  2 роки тому +1

      Hemp Oil works well with washes as it soaks into the paint and enhances the wood grain underneath

  • @WolvesinFrance
    @WolvesinFrance 2 роки тому +1

    I'm yet to buy some hemp oil 😊

    • @WolvesinFrance
      @WolvesinFrance 2 роки тому +1

      Also, I've discovered that if you font fine grit sand down aka 1000 grit, the wood grain remains open and mops up the primer and top coat which isnt what you want really is it?

    • @WolvesinFrance
      @WolvesinFrance 2 роки тому +1

      What grit did you finally finish the piece with out of interest Connie?

    • @faffdesigns
      @faffdesigns  2 роки тому

      I didn’t sand this piece in between coats or after the final coat. Because I added water, there was no need to do that this time

    Will this technique work on a painted piece?

    • @faffdesigns
      @faffdesigns  Рік тому

      Yes, you can add a paint wash over a painted surface
