I am a wood purist. Wood and wood grain speaks to me. Having said that, I am one who hates painted wood and I think that comes from having a grandmother who painted EVERYTHING when she had left over paint from some room painting project! She also wasn't a very good painter ... ! That said, when you stated this wasn't a wood piece, you had my curiosity on what you were going to do. Your work, color choice and the little details you shared made this a pleasure to watch and has given me some ideas to explore. Thank you!
I love it when someone turns a boring mass produced “junk” piece into such a pretty piece of furniture. That color is so rich! I’m glad you kept the hardware.
Oh Honey PLEASE DO AWAY WITH THAT INSANE MUSIC. 🤢😵 Sorry I did want to see the out come of your creativity However. Whew What a 🤕headache from that sound Yikes 🥴
As an antique dealer who for decades stripped layers of paint from pieces whose value was cut in half by well meaning ignorant people, I disagree. There's plenty of junk out there that needs your creativity. I deeply appreciate your discretion.
It was a great piece to begin with, you gave it an updated look and breathed new life into it....the finish on the wood reminds me of an Asian technique....Congratulations ❤
The beauty of working on a piece like this is that you are actually upscaling it. The waxing really brings this piece alive. Gorgeous makeover! ❤ Shirley
Thank you for the disclaimer. I love painted furniture as long as it is not antique, And antique if it is a terrible mess.. Looking foreword to more.❤. Great Job!
Magnificent flip! You are a master with the wax aging. After flipping for years I still cannot get the kind of precision control you have. Incredible transformation!❤
Love it! Good call on the bronzer. Looks great with the color you painted it. I have a vanity I'm painting. The veneer is too far gone to fix it. I think this color will look great for it. The bedroom is in grays, lavenders, plum and my Fenton glass collection is purple tones and maroon and cranberry. 💜🩷 You explain everything so well! I'm inspired! Thanks for sharing
The more I see this wine color in furniture and decor, the more I like it. I absolutely love this! It’s beautiful! And yes, I love me some Dixie Belle too. Such a great line.
Love your taste in colors; your not afraid to step out of you comfort-zone; what will be will be; God loves a “discovery mind”, , their easier for him to guide you, than stuck-like a mule on an old path. great job🙂🕊️🙏👍
I would have preferred to see someone repair the wood strip and refinish this piece. But damn this looks incredible with the painting and detailing you did. I really love that interior coloring. An incredible piece anyone would love to have in their home. Having those great skills with painting of the raised areas so it all blends so nicely really makes the whole thing stand out.
I've had a few pieces of furniture that I would have called antiques. The rest was just old so I painted them. I just started using chalk paint last year. I had the piano from childhood that was ugly so I painted it with chalk paint. I've painted my cherry toned furniture to black and it looks so good. Well IMO and some family and friends agreed or lied. ha.
This type of applied detail was huge in the early 70's - think of the Spanish Mediterranean craze, in furniture. I believe it is referred to as varathane molding.
I was hoping you were going to use your bronze wax on this piece. So beautiful… ❤️. I also appreciate that you don’t do your details in the traditional gold or silver gilding waxes all the time. Always a pleasure watching you create.
Great piece to experiment with! Kind of an odd design. It looks like drawers with that decorative design but opens as doors. I was hoping you would go purple! Nice job.
I like the way you emphasized the lovely details of the piece. I would have gone with a different base color as I don’t like maroon. Overall, it turned out very nice.

I think it's GORGEOUS! I love you're custom color! The wax and the gold make these details-decoration on the drawers pop! Thanks so much for sharing
Thank you!! 🤗❤️

Girl listen!... you can "freely do anything you want" whether it's an antique or not. Never allow criticism to stifle your creativity. Never!❤
Exactly
I so agree. I would rather paint a piece and use it, than “ save” it in the garage.
Agreed beauty is in the eye of the beholder and thats yours, u purchased it😂

But even if it was wood, it’s your piece and you can do whatever you want with it! (And it looks good!)
Totally agree, never understood what some people think gives them the right to tell others what to do with what they bought and own 👍
Lovely. That piece deserved a 2nd life. Glad to see rich, saturated color as an interior decor option again.
Stunning piece!!!
That's a beauty!
Oooooo …. It looks like fairy tale furniture!! I love it!! ❤❤❤❤❤

Deep rich color really made it pop.
It kind of looks like a cheap piece of furniture anyway so I don't blame you for painting it ❤😊 the end result was GORGEOUS!!!
Loving it after the wax application!! Drives home the details with the shadows of it!!! ❤💓❤️
Magnificent flip! You are a master with the wax aging. After flipping for years I still cannot get the kind of precision control you have. Incredible transformation!❤
