Thank you, Blanca! That was so easy. I have an antique oak dresser that I'm wanting to do this to. I love tiger wood oak. I have an antique dining room table that need to be stripped and I might consider doing this piece too!
That’s is fantastic! This finish is very simple but beautiful! Good luck on your project 😊❤️
Thank you for this video I really liked it. I love how you were able to do the black wash without stripping the finish off, can’t wait to see more from you ~ Funkensense 💚
Awww!!! Thank you so much for your comment! This one was so much fun to do and super easy. Good luck 🍀 🥰

Hello from Suffolk in England. I would like to do this on a mahogany dresser. Wuuld I need to strip off the varnish first? Thanks!
Very nice…..
Helps to sand it first lol
Can you please please give me advice on doing this to shutters in my house . Can I do this on shuttle and what about the time for wax cures , sun exposure? Please .
Absolutely! No problem. It takes about a day to be fully cured. I would suggest that instead of using the Mind Your Own Bees wax you use a protector like matte sealer. It should be fine with sun exposure. Let me know if you have any other questions
Love the technique and the finished product! What's the name of the brush you are using?
Thank you so much! I used a zibra brush with an angle. Thank you for watching 😊
@@blancag4657 I just watched your video again because I definitely want to do this with an old oak kitchen table that's shaped like a small butcher block table. It's in very good shape but the wood is pretty dry and the finish has dulled. I would need to refinish it before moving on to what you've done here.
Would you mind telling me more specifically what you meant having to "refinish" the furniture before doing the black wash etc? For example, is there a particular type of stain and/or color of stain I should use?
I would like my table to be the same underlying color/tone as the dresser you worked on in this video. Thanks so much for your advice!
What I meant is that if your piece has scratches or if it is chipping off then it has to be redone. If it is only dry and dull you can do the wash. I hope this helps
@@blancag4657 Thanks for the clarification Blanca. To achieve the same effect as your dresser though, can you tell me what brand & color stain was applied on your dresser underneath the one step black paint? Golden oak? Antique walnut?
@@patdarlington3297 The stain is the original on this piece. I did not re-stain it. However, if you stain your piece I recommend the English Walnut gel stain from Amy Howard. It is easy to apply, all natural crushed walnuts with a beautiful dark color.
