    • @RawFoodRomance
      @RawFoodRomance  8 місяців тому

      I don’t have an eating window or follow that kinda stuff. I eat anytime, from when I wake up to dinner. If I’m hungry I eat. I usually eat first thing early just fruit and a smoothie after workout. Usually by lunch time I’ve eaten 1000 calories and then I have lunch and dinner. Eating early in the morning allows sor me to have abundant energy through my day and workout and gives me more time to get my other meals in for further calories and nutrition. It’s SUPER HARD to get the 2400 calories that I need each day of water and fiber rich foods in a few hours as our stomachs can only hold maybe around 500-600 calories at a time of water and fiber rich foods before the stretch receptors signal that we are full. I just don’t see how it could work with raw in my mind and I’m not interested in stuffing 2400 calories that I need in only a few hours. Sounds incredibly uncomfortable!

    This raw vegan diet is very good. But I wouldn't be able to continue this where I live. Here, especially from May to October, the weather is very good, when most fruits and vegetables ripen. During the rest of the year, we can eat root vegetables, apples, pears and seeds raw. The other fruits are canned or frozen in the summer and the vegetables are pickled or frozen so they can be eaten in the winter as well. Although I'm also thinking about drying. This is better for those who live in the tropics or the Mediterranean.

    • @RawFoodRomance
      @RawFoodRomance  Рік тому

      I dont live in the tropics or Mediterranean. Right now I’m in Vegas in the desert and yes I can get more here but it’s because I live in a city - the desert is not very easy to grow in. I actually also did my first 5 years raw in Edmonton Canada where it’s winter most of the year and regularly is -30 to -40 degrees cold. Snow for 7-8 months…. It wasn’t the best and food is more expensive and stuff isn’t as ripe etc. but I made it work because I wanted it to. I totally understand though in some rural remote areas it’s a lot harder but you can grow your own sprouts and microgreens inside as well and heavily boost your fresh intake. Drying is a good option it just makes food extra calorie dense so it’s easy to over eat that. It’s definitely about doing the best that you can with what you have. ❤️

    I'm quite sick currently, chronically ill and weak,so I'm having more of an anti inflammatory balanced diet(no gluten,dairy red meat),which has grains like sorghum(it helped me a lot),healthy fat like mac nut oil,lots of fruits,(wanna eat more veggies but not happening because of family and where I live),some protein like fish, seafood and chicken (rarely) it works for me very well
    But yes I wanna try vegan or raw vegan someday,if my body lets me,for a short, cause it's interesting. I'd eat lots of dragon fruits cause they are low carb,and lots of veggie salad and wraps😍😍

    I’m 62 and vegan for 7 years. I just started my raw vegan journey 2 months ago. Can you include some meals that do not require so many different ingredients? I’m older now, in my senior years. I don’t want to be constantly traveling to the grocery store or ordering from delivery services to get so many ingredients. Also, I am still working. But many seniors my age or older are on fixed incomes. Can you show some recipes for those on a budget? According to the IRS, the monthly food budget for a single person is about $350-$450, depending on location. I know in your videos you are presenting the deliciousness of the raw food vegan diet. But some older people may not have access to all the wonderful ingredients in your recipes, either because they cannot travel frequently to get them or they cannot afford them. My grandmother (born 1905) believed in stocking up on canned food and dry goods. Older people back then were not accustomed to frequent trips to get groceries. Many elderly people today still shop like this even though those types of foods do not provide optimum health. If you can, please show us seniors out here a practical way for us to become raw food vegans. Thank you. ❤❤

      Hi there! Great work on adding more! I have both simpler and more ingredient recipes. I eat a lot of variety because it’s been mega healing on my gut. It’s one of my top priorities as a raw vegan and also to get the flavors I desire, most times we need more flavors. Nate and I fall right within or slightly below the monthly budget per person maybe $300-400 max. We spend a lot less than most do because we aren’t buying a lot of expensive boxes, canned, etc food. We shop about 2, maybe 3 times a week only if we forget something or wanna make a specific recipe. We don’t buy all organic. We shop in season. Shopping more often actually saves us a lot of money and food waste because we aren’t buying extra stuff that may go bad or we might not use fast enough. We only buy what we need. The key is not less ingredients, it’s actually more planning. When planning is on point, one can be way more efficient. I always felt my recipes were way simpler than what I used to eat so it really depends on where one is coming from. Simple to me is least processed, not least ingredients. I hope that clarifies!

    • @RawFoodRomance
      @RawFoodRomance  11 місяців тому

      Plus on a side note, you don’t have follow my recipes exactly (except the wraps you do cuz they are a special formula) but for salads, it’s completely fair game, no real rules except eat enough and get some kind of variety (not just lettuce and tomatoes!) you don’t have to put all the same variety as I do in my salads. Put whatever works best for you in the salads. As long as you’re eating enough, you can build epic salads with whatever ingredients you like and have access to.

    I eat less protein than you, because of health problems, I'm still surviving hehe
    but yes we do need some protein (I hope you are having enough
    I can't tolerate plant protein well, cause I have IBS, I can't eat red meat either,no dairy, sometimes not even eggs, my only source of protein used to be one or two pieces of fish or some 2 or 3 pieces of chicken but that wasn't enough for me. After that I started having sorghum, it has 11g(or something) of protein per 100g, that's a lot of plant based proteins and something I could actually digest. Also fruits and veggies help too.
    I personally think you are having enough protein,but is it complete protein?(just curious) do you ever eat something like quinoa or any grain)? can you actually cook food? or no boiling or steaming allowed?

    • @RawFoodRomance
      @RawFoodRomance  11 місяців тому

      I only eat raw food and no grains or anything needing to be cooked. The “complete protein” thing was debunked decades ago and as long as a person eats enough and a good variety, they can easily surpass their protein needs. I’ve been doing this for 9 years now and haven’t eaten any cooked foods and I’m healthier now and my gut is at its peak health. I have worked very hard to build it with a very wide variety of fiber. I had serious gut issues before (dysbiosis, constipation followed by diarrhea, Candida overgrowth and severe gas and bloating that left me unable to move sometimes) and my family history has colon cancer and Crohn’s disease so I’m very aware of the new gut health science so I worked on increasing my variety of pants and I do gut testing to see where I’m at. Things are incredible for me now and I’m feeling so great considering where I came from.
      The protein thing is so over sensationalized in my opinion. I’ve done some very deep research and read the actual studies that were done of how they discovered what humans need of each amino acid and as long as we eat enough calories from a variety of plants, it’s super easy to get enough. People who UNDER EAT and RESTRICT their food intake (on any diet) are at most at risk for not getting enough protein. Not people eating adequately planned diets of any kind. If someone is under eating and restricting themselves of food, then protein is gonna be one of the lesser problems they may encounter…

      Not sure what you mean by different, I’m a human like everyone else and am allowed to change just like you. So change is normal. No one will ever stay the same over the years. Expecting that is unfair. My hair is back to dark now and I have bangs/fringe again and have new glasses but otherwise I dunno I still feel the same, actually better than ever and not much is different except I’ve added a bunch of new things over the last 6 months like asparagus, sunchoke, fennel, endive etc to build my Microbiome even stronger. I still eat pretty much close the same as I did all this time really, the only thing that might be different is one itself. We all age and change. Being vegan is an ethical stand against animal exploitation and our diets are a part of that. Vegans make choices not to consume or use animals to the best of our ability, including diet, clothing, entertainment, etc etc. health is a whole different thing though because just as much as you can easily be an unhealthy standard eater, you can also be an unhealthy vegan, vegan doesn’t always = healthy because there’s a lot of junky vegan stuff out there

      That might mean that your gut microbiome is weak to fiber but that’s okay because you can build up to it. That’s a sign you need to introduce raw a little slower. Start with low fat and add more raw as you go. Too much too soon is too hard for weaker microbiomes but slowly adding more raw over time can grow your bacteria so you can handle full days.

    dont you get cold?

      If it’s cold outside, I’m still human so yes if the temperature is cold, I get cold, it if you’re referring to metabolism, no… my body temp is very stable because I eat enough calories to fuel my body (if you’re eating a very low calorie diet of cooked food you can still get very cold due to limited fuel like hibernation the body die regulates metabolism)

    57g of protein is not enough protein.

    • @RawFoodRomance
      @RawFoodRomance  11 місяців тому +2

      It is for me. Not sure why the protein obsession continues…. but we really don’t need as much as is parroted by society. I have researched this topic in depth for over 20 years on both sides of the coin and honestly it’s not even a concern for me anymore. I’m more focused on eating a wide variety of fiber (97% of North Americans don’t even get close to the pitiful RDA for fiber every day and here we are worried about protein 🙄….) and eating enough for my calorie needs. I get enough protein. I’m just fine thanks!

    she doesn’t show how many grams protein

    • @RawFoodRomance
      @RawFoodRomance  Рік тому

      Most days I’m getting anywhere between 55-
      80 grams a day, far more than my RDA. Everything (all raw plants) has amino acids in them to make protein.

      Plus the RDA is already set on the high end for protein. Society is obsessed with it and we don’t even need that much while 97% of the population isn’t even getting half the RDA for fiber yet we worry about protein… I have zero concerns. I’ve researched the protein topic heavily for over 2 decades and I’m comfortable with my choices based on the nutrition and biology I’ve studied.

    B12 and iron can't get from fruit and vegetables and why all raw vegans so skinny as hell? Because there's no fat at all in fruit

    • @RawFoodRomance
      @RawFoodRomance  4 місяці тому

      Using absolutes like “all” and “can’t” and “no” is not helpful. If you study food science, there is fat in fruit, albeit small. And I don’t only eat fruit. I eat a wide variety of vegetables, greens, sprouts, nuts and seeds as well, all of which also contain fats in various amounts. I also eat enough calories to sustain my needs. I don’t under eat or do detoxes and fasts like many do. And please don’t say there’s no iron because just one cup of sunflower microgreens has 6mg and lots of vegetables and greens have plenty too. I average 20+ mg iron a day from my diet and I’m not anemic. B12 is not really a diet vitamin, despite diet being a way to get it. It’s meant to be acquired from our environment, wild soils, natural springs, etc - it’s made by a bacteria that we should have in our guts but many people struggle because of modern lifestyles, low fiber diets and many other factors, not so much about “just” the food. Please avoid using absolute statements because it spreads misinformation and takes away from your comment.

      Thank you!! Yeah my bowels seem to flow with the meals I eat so if I do 3 meals I normally have 2-3 bowels. I’m sure if I ate 5 I’d have 4-5 but I don’t need to eat that often. I eat enough in my current meals ❤️
