    I absolutely love this clip, even 38 years later. Constance McCashin shows her wonderfully positive and unselfish personality and is even more excited than the winning contestant. She truly cares about making a difference for someone other than herself, and that's the ultimate sign of a healthy perspective and well adjusted woman who cares about others. BRAVO! Constance... 38 years later. We miss you... Thursday nights @ 10pm haven't been the same without you. And you were even more brilliant to know when to walk away from all of the Hollywood bull-shit.

      Cried my eyes out when they killed off Laura on Knots Landing. She was one of the most complex characters. Constance played her beautifully. I miss Thursdays and Fridays CBS 80s.

      Every celebrity on the show wanted to win for their fans that's why it was so different from other game shows and what made it a great show. They weren't acting or in character or on a talk show but forced to play the game as a regular person would.

      She gave up acting to study psychology, later taught psych classes at Brandeis U. and she's now a professional psychotherapist in New England! She doesn't tell her students or her clients that she used to be an actress although a lot of them eventually find that out anyway.

    This must have been super early in The New $25,000 Pyramid's run, because they are still using the old 1973-81 bell, and the chyron flashing $10,000 is still the 1970s Helvetica font instead of the later Roman serif font used for most of the run.

    The contestant gave the clues and was fumbling, but atleast he won. I've seen celebrities be the clue giver and screw contestant out of winning. He is not used to being under pressured circumstances. Celebrities are and they still screw up. I'd rather be a clue giver and my loss was on me instead of my already overpaid rich celebrity partner giving me illegal clues.

    • @wschmrdr
      @wschmrdr 3 роки тому +1

      It's easier to receive than to give, which is why you saw it so much more often. Remember that you have to convey the answer to your partner, and there are many more things you can do than just say the words, such as vocal inflections and facial expressions, which the acting celebrities have a lot of experience with doing. Mistakes can happen, and remember that these celebrities want to win just as much as you do. It's the whole "thrill of victory" thing.

      The contestants should always be the clue givers in the Winners Circle as they are now in the Michael Strayhan Pyramid. But back in the day, some celebrities didn't know how to play the game. So they screwed it up for there parners the contestants.
