Very smart on the $200 and the $250 just to pass very quickly and not to waste time just try the next one and maybe something may come to you later on and it worked, very well played by a seasoned vet Charlie s.
so much fun watching people win on this show. props to Siebert for showing genuine sportsmanship by not wasting time and passing immediately. he was always one of my favorites
This really was one of thee best game shows then & in re-runs now. I always yell when they win. Everyone is so dam happy! It was a way to see maybe your favorite celeb definitely under a different light. Miss you Dick Clark, you really added to this show!
The improvement to the music in the CBS version of the Pyramid provides the perfect punctuation to the wins in the winner's circle. It just adds to the excitement.
That's a very unorthodox way to get to the top of the Big Pyramid, but there's nothing in the rules to say you have to get'em in order, only that you have to get'em all in 60 seconds or less.
@@DarthTaz no that would be illegal. That's too descriptive. A haystack isnt a thing with a needle. You "find a needle in a haystack" in that proverb, but that's overly descriptive.
The main object other than win $10,000 was to score as high as possible where high score wins the day; so Charlie getting the $300 box was huge then go back to get $200 & $250. If time had run out before he got $250 box then $800 would be great score!!
I'm sure I'm not the first to notice, two of these answers would be repeated during the same bonus game, with Charlie at the helm, in 1985. ua-cam.com/video/c58xS9uJoFo/v-deo.htmlsi=nIN1v89EcxuV5khu
I’m watching this so excited, clapping and yelling like it’s a new game show. Love old school....anything. Best time ever of my life.
AHHHHHH!!! ME, TOO!!! :-D :-D #Oldschoolisalwayscool
Me too. The 80s are the best!
#SpoilerAlert.... I love how she knew it when she screamed NEEDLE!!!

The best bonus round win of all time. High drama and the jump on delivering “Things With a Needle” was EVERYTHING
I dunno why but it just makes me especially happy to see her win
Me too
Me three!
It's always a joy to watch Charlie in the WC.

Doesn't matter how you get it done, just get it done.
I’m glad to hear Charles added word tree to apples.
That was the clincher.

That moment she put 2 and 2 together was great.
Totally! She knew she got it the way she screamed needle.
Clarity. It's a good thing!
That was a real nail bitter.. didn't think she'd ever say "orchard".
I know right
Yeah, that ORCHARD one was hard!!!
No way in hell I would have said orchard.
When the giver mentioned "cherry trees", that drills it down further.
Sometimes you have to pass and come back to a subject, then you think of stuff to say that you don't think of the first time.
That is true. It does help.
Fantastic exciting win just Great!!!!!
HOORAY!!! I really wanted her to win!
I didn’t
Pyramid is one of the game shows that I really wanted the contestants to win. Unlike the Wall where I love when they win 0.
RIP Charles Siebert
That 200 box... feeling like Dick Clark... You dingbat, say a tree! A farmer!
1:22 YAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSS!!!

Unusual, but it worked, and it was reused in flashback intros.

Yup, DIck has admonished the pair in the winner's circle to pass if they had trouble and to come back to it later.
YES...with one second to spare!
RIP Charles. You were an excellent Pyramid player.
Charles Siebert's still alive, isn't he?
No. He died in May of 2022.
Really? Dick passed away too.. That shows that we are going back in time.
One second left!!
that was an epic way to win period
I had turned 17 just two months before this originally aired.
The "Chrome" answer was the key to the game. She guessed that one so quickly that they had enough time to go back to the two they passed earlier.
The Best Winner Circle Win With Just One Second Left
Never seen anything like that before. Probably the only time it happened.
No it happens very often people go out of order all the time to reach the top.
A couple of those categories were tough.
Charles Siebert has died. He passed away a few months ago. So may he RIP. He was a great Pyramid player.
Charlie is adorable ❤
Had he said apple TREES right away I think she would have gotten it right away. Nevertheless, well played.
Till this day, I still get hyped up whenever anyone wins.
Adding “tree” to the orchard category as well did it. He needed a plant in there.
She held her excitement until the very end. "Things with a needle!!!!!!!"
She just made that
Anyone know if there's footage or pictures of the back of the board or how it's operated?
Dave Smith there was a episode of two on the town I think it was called. ..bunch of ppl manually turn them
unorthodox but I'll take it
I about had a heart attack. 😂
Things with a NEEDLE! 😂😂😂
There’s another clip on this same channel here on UA-cam with the same celebrity guest that has some of the same categories. How strange.
I luv this!
Surprised that "a syringe" wasn't even thought of for a clue.
I'm more surprised that hay stack didn't come in
@@DarthTaz no that would be illegal.

I would never have been able to get the top one "chrome," either as giver or receiver.
Would "a cassette tape" be legal for Things Made of Chrome? (high-bias or Chrome cassette tapes)
Yes...

PRetty rare to win the game after a double pass.
@1:15 "A phonograph."
The judges could have disqualified that part, because phonographs do not have needles. They have styli. But no needles.
Syringe would have been a good clue for Things With A Needle.
that was an awkward round.
I was hoping Charles would add a syringe to the last clue, but she got it!
I love that she knew she won before he said it.
“Are you happy?” Oh Dick, if there were a prize for asking banal, facile questions, you’d win the blue ribbon
Paper…snow…a ghost!
She really to just cool her jets and let him give the clues.
Today many people wouldn’t know what a phonograph is, much less that it has a needle.
As of the late 2010s, records are back in vogue
Good old Dick Clark...
Rip...
Why do I always feel like I won when they win?? I don’t realize til after they win how tensed up I am.
I woulda said "a syringe" for things with a needle. Or would that not be allowed? I think that would be the most obvious clue.
Yes, they’re not synonyms. There are syringes without needles. One of the first things I thought of too along with phonograph.

a hypodermic syringe, a sewing kit,
Never knew that robin quivers was on phramid
LOL!
He gives to clues too slow!
Probably my favorite win on this terrific show 🎉🥲👏🏽
