      I use this trick on my Line 6 POD X3 Live.
      Since it allows two different tones at a time, I set one of the tones to what I need for playing the part. And on the other, I set the delay to infinite repeats, and then tap the tempo of the delay using the TAP footswitch.

    The flamenco guys have been playing up and down with the thumb like this for 200 years; they call it "alzapua", literally "up thumb". Including with the nail. . .including with the hammered on triplets. You can hear the technique used in recordings from Ramon Montoya in the 1930s. Paco De Lucia was the absolute master of this.

    • @treeforged9097
      @treeforged9097 Місяць тому

      Yeah but they did not palm mute everything and slap the note so the string hits the fretboard to give it the percussive sound that he is getting. That is why if you listen to alzapua and tosins thumping they don't sound alike at all. Flemenco guitarist have also used percussive hits to the guitar for hundreds of years but they never replicated the kind of percussion ensembles that modern guitarist do.

    all these feels even more incredible due to the fact that Tosin almost quit playing guitar altogether - the first AAL album was not in a state to be released, but the label wanted it anyway to just put it out to get some money. Tosin was so embarrassed by how it sounded he was planning on just moving to France and giving up guitar, but then Misha convinced him that he could fix it up to a reasonable state. We got the first AAL album thanks to Misha, and now look where he's at today. Incredible.

I have read guides and watched videos all over the internet and nobody has made a point of that fact. the wrist doesn't anchor it floats, and to make clean notes you must decelopy good finger movment combined with a very small wrist movement for economy and speef

    Have you heard Animals as Leader's Weightless? This technique is used quite a bit on it and it sounds phenomenal.
