A 250w sticker on a 3500w bike is one of the funniest things I’ve seen all week
It is funny 👍
Good to see you back nutty
Cheers 👍
I wish one of those moped style e-bikes would use one of these battery types it would add so much to the moped/motorcycle look
Yes it would look good on one of them 👍
What sometimes works is a normal shape battery but then put it in a triangle bag with velcro straps on all sides of bag. Worked a treat for me.
👍
Great fit and look all good like a Moto and 🙂all that power! Awesome.
Yes the power is awesome 👍👍👍
I just subscribed. I love your videos.
Thanks 👍👍👍
Looks good, really gives it a motorcycle vibe!
It does give it a Motorcycle look, still undecided myself.
Battery looks just fine 👍🏽
Thanks
I like your whole set up it looks sharp. I'm really digging the tank battery I would do the same. As long as it don't mess with your center of mass and weight distribution.
It is a little top heavy, but only a little and is manageable 👍
They make a really nice looking back rack with an extra shelf just for the battery which again is the right shape for the spot and hard to even notice at first
👍👍
ok nice works
👍
Oh, and I think the tank looks good but maybe not ideal for trail riding. Keep up the fine work.
Yes it is a bit top heavy for serious trail riding.
I'm a little late to the party but that battery looks really good on your bike and it also matches your style 👍
👍👍
if you take the battery out of the casing you will fit it in the frame, but will have to cover the battery in plastic wrap, I have done this works great
That's a good idea 👍👍
Great job…. a master mechanic in the making! Lots of positives and a great build…. the battery position would not work for me especially when off road as I would fear for my future children! Also surprise someone recommended such long crank arms 175mm on a small frame is way off… I run 160mm lekkies on my ebike and 165mm on all my others - I have 32” inside led length. Keep up the good work, especially your style
I did originally order 165mm crank arms but somehow I ended up with 175mm
Depending on the suspension I see a lot of people putting them on the outside of the bottom of the triangle just in front of and above the cranks but on the bottom side of the tube but they're long and thin and rather than short and wide but it does look like a great spot if you get the right kind of battery and it's hard to notice it's there at first even
👍👍
Absolutely love the battery placement. Can you add a gas cup on top? :)
Actually it wouldn't of been a bad idea to put a fake petrol cap and use it as the charge port. 👍
Your tank battery looks fine.
Thanks 👍
I think it looks ok , might look real good with a motorbike style head light
and might be too late but If the motor was mounted within the triangle , would look awesome
Brilliant
I could put the motor in the triangle now there is no battery in there.
@@baconbuttties And thinking about it , that battery set up also would work well with full suspension, good show 👍🏻
@@mickdalglish6241 yes it would 👍👍👍
I put the magnet and sensor as close to the rim as possible, butted up to the spoke nipple, I run a 29" rim and didn't want it reading out as a smaller diameter wheel by mistake
Yes I put it there temporally and will try and put it as far as possible as it would be measuring as a very small wheel 👍
After a bit of Thinking and looking at the wheel it doesn't matter if the magnet is in the middle of the spoke or at the end of the spoke. Why? Because the spoke will still come around at the same time as its the wheels diameter that configures how many revolutions it does.
Aesthetically looks not to bad, it does shout E - Bike
But it would be a bit of a ball breaker..🤣
Hope that never happens to you.
Thanks for the video Mate 👍
Oooooof 😱 I hope not.
I have the same set of components, CYC X1 PRO 2, 72V battery, 60a controller and mine went 52 MPH in mode 4 before I backed out of the throttle, was somewhat sketchy going that fast on a bicycle, I may never know just how fast it can go
I don't know if I fancy doing over 50 mph on a bike .
It looks fine but the only issue is the high center of gravity for handling & safety, If it doesn't bother you then go with it.😜
You can feel the weight up a high a little bit, but it isn't that bad 👍.
I have enjoyed your videos. Is that condensation on the inside of the glass?
The glass was cracked
@@baconbuttties So you haven't noticed any moisture on the motor glass? The reason I'm asking is with my Pro gen 2 it was a known issue.
I bought the Pro gen 3 and this problem is supposed to solved. Thank you for sharing
@@wallyworld6249 When it failed it looked like it could of had moisture but it also could of been the oils
Good job like the battery on top look smart
Make it look like a motorcycle
Did need pay fees on battery ?
Thinking about do the same look
There was no extra fees on the battery.
I'm interested to see how fast and how is rides on trails just saying hi from Birmingham UK 🇬🇧
May try some light trails in the spring 👍
Hello, that's looks smart, expensive bit of kit I bet.i reckon it will go 40mph on the straight.
I will have to do a cost evaluation of all the bits on the bike 🚲 and see what the total cost is... I haven't looked yet 🙈
i never saw this style of battery .. cool form factor ..
how is the weight so hi on the bike and does it hit your knees?
my guess is you get up to 40-43mph
You can feel the weight up high but it's not too bad at all. It also doesn't hit your knees as there is plenty of room.👍
@@baconbuttties amazing!!! the total weight is not that bad .. the tech has come along way since my first bike
@@FSK1138 👍👍
Title says Gen 1. You may want to rename this video CYC X1 Pro Gen 3.
Thanks for the helpful videos, this seems like overkill for my trail needs. I think I'm going CYC X1 Stealth Gen 3 and running 52V.
Thanks, I don't know why I wrote 1.
It doesn't look daft but mounting on and off the bike looks difficult.
It's actually not too bad mounting on and off 🙂
I would think you should be able to hit 50mph give or take on flat ground in good weather. I wouldn't use the rear lowest gear that would be more for your torque with less top end and your highest gear which is the smallest sprocket is for top end with not much torque
👍👍
🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲👍👍
👍👍
Where did you get this battery from? I really like the idea of mounting the battery above the frame, but I don't see too many "reputable" battery makers that have those types of shells... I may just take a chance on Amazon though, it looks really good
It's from Ali express, the company I bought it from had some good reviews.
@@baconbuttties I missed that part of the video lol, thanks. Did you have to specify the charging connector when ordering? It looks like it's the XT-90 in the video, but it's actually kinda hard to find what type of connector CYC is expecting you to have...
@@thomasfisher1829 the 72 volt battery had a XT90 and so does the CYC x6 controller
@@baconbuttties They really should pay you for this XD Thank you so much man. Definitely subbed, awesome build
@@thomasfisher1829 👍
Looks ok , but not very stealth and top heavy , going to build one when money allowes thanks for the vids
It is a bit top heavy but doesn't feel that bad when riding.
It looks like one of those motorized bicycles with the tank on it - You can change it to have 9 assist levels from the setup menu on the bike display... double press to get into the menu and then go to advanced ... it's in there.. This bike is going to really haul ... I'm guessing at full power on the flat with you pedaling in top gear you will easily reach 50mph -- but it will depend on the gearing ratio of the bike ... what's the front chain ring size - the back will be an 11 tooth. I found I can easily hit 70kmh with a 38 - 11 on my X1 stealth on level 4 of 5. Beware of putting to much torque through your back wheel - those spokes aren't rated for 3000+W --- lol You may need to rebuild the wheel with 13 or 12G spokes far quicker than you'd like if you go full throttle and power output from standing... Anyway love your video's
I do try and take it easy on the throttle as I can feel the torque could do some damage. 👍
what battery is it. I have bought the gen 2 5000 watt
The battery is 72 volt 20Ah
And BMS is 60 amps.
Got it from Ali express.
Range test Range test Raaaannnnge teeeeeeeeeessssssssstttttttt! Please :)
I will try and do a range test 👍👍👍
Range test please, I need to build one like yours but I want to make sure that I can use it to go to work and come back with single charge. 40 miles total, thanks.
Did battery come with wire and connector fitted or did you have to fit it by yourself?
Battery came with wire and the connector was the same as the controller so it was plug and play.
@@baconbuttties cool.... what type of connector is it on motor is it an Anderson connector?
@@colinwilson652 It was a XT90
Battery looks as is..not much choice where to put it.. im really interested in a video of your app settings for the motor as i own one and id love to know how you have set yours up ?
I haven't done a deep delve into the app yet but I could do a video once I do a bit of tinkering with the settings.
Music to my ears .. there isn't one on UA-cam yet so I'll look forward to that and thanks 👍
@@MrJackster1961 👍
any concerns of that battery catching fire?
Not at all, why do you say that?
@@baconbuttties I'm scared to buy batteries from unknown sellers with all of the ebike battery fire videos I've seen on youtube. Been trying to stick with reputable brands such as EM3EV, ChiBatterySystems, Powerful Lithium, Lunacycle, and etc that build batteries with quality Samsung/Panasonic/LG cells. Nonetheless, it looks like the battery you're using is kicking ass. I hope to see a 1,000 mile review of your rig :)
@@VietPho I think it's okay but you never can be to sure.
The BMS seems to being what it should 🤞
Are you the ex window cleaner from Stockport ?
Nope 😃
If your scared to do the top end speed, I can pop down and do it for you lol
You will have to sign a disclaimer hohohoho
@@baconbuttties KEK :D
I bought a Alloy Rear Bicycle Pannier Rack Carrier Bag Luggage Cycle Mountain Bike for back mounted battery their
How did the weight feel at the back?
BButtie your bike 👁looks👁 great I like it very much 👁👁💯🚵♂️🚵♀️🚵with that kind of power you should wear a helmet with a shield so stuff won't be hitting you in your face 😂😁😎😎👌👍🙏
It would be better 👍
where you get battery
I got it from AliExpress
I must admit, not sure with the battery. It's got some grunt, doesn't sound as noisy as the previous version.
Cyc has also released a small motor, looks good, the photon I think, 110nm of torque and it looks tiny.
I think in that app there's a setting for road legal, which you could use to keep the boys in blue happy, 🤣🤣
Yes I did see the road legal setting, I think is in sport mode at the moment.
What next, an 8,000 what Cyclone...?
I did make a 9000 watt ebike in my earlier videos
Looks like a petrol tank 😂
It does 😄
My guess is 75km/hr
Would be nice if it gets to that speed.
Butty
I don't know what to make of just butty?
40mph ish?? Nice bit of kit thou and 72v mm
Be good if it is 40 ish 👍
I am always amazed, that people will spend thousands and thousands on a bike that is limited to 15mph, with a generic motor, and be happy with it, when that motor would be capable of much more, or they could do a similar build.
@@acelectricalsecurity 👍
You're not a teenager anymore and when you go down you're not going to bounce right back up again 😮. You should consider rescheduling or better yet take a rain check and act your age LMAO😊😅😂
it will hurt if I fall off at my age 👍😄
It looks ok to me .But ot might attract a bit too much interest from mister plod .
I know, I would rather it be a bit more stealthy. The motor doesn't look that big so Mister Plod might leave me alone 🤞
I would put a rack on the rear and put the battery there
👍👍👍
It looks way too silly but consider this as an option because you can make it in whatever configuration you want to fit whatever space you need she do it yourself because you'll do it exactly the way you like it 😊
ua-cam.com/video/zmX07eZ10Z4/v-deo.html
👍👍
Doesn’t look bad.
👍👍
@@baconbuttties Tank shaped batteries are a good idea. I don’t need any attention from the police though so want to keep things discrete.
@@kevinkeelan354 yes a police stop would not be good 👍
@@baconbuttties those bastards are the reason I need a bike in the first place.
@@kevinkeelan354 😱
If u put a playing card in the spokes so it makes a engine noise u will be able to get by.. 🫣
Hohohoh I used to do that when I was 10 years old.
