THANKYOU you the only one who knows whassup. I been lookin FOREVER fo a tutorial like this. Short video that gets to the point and shows you exactly how to do it. Not what not to do and what everyone else does, just straight up how to do it. I appreciate you I just subbed liked and hit tha notification button thank you g
hey man, great tutorial, that setting the master channels at once was a great tip. also was wondering you could send me that kick or tell me where you got it, would really appreciate it
Good video. A lot of people don't get that something as simple as levelingcan make or break a mix. I usually don't let my instruments jump pass -10 db. My drums are all around -5 or -6 and my 808 sub around -8. Balance!!
Thank you so much! My 808's were distorting when I took off the Fruity Limiter, now everything is sounding about right. This beat I'm working on is my first time using 808's so I didn't know how to stack 'em.
Nah I stacked an 808 and a kick. I just didn't know how to balance it out. Now, the way you mixed in this video is how you mix your tracks in general!?
OK. I record over my stuff so I was making sure. I'm going to eq my other tracks. I need everything sounding right. Imma check your mastering video later.
DreadfulControversy Use your ears, eventually its all personal preferences. The main question is, do you want your sample to pop out or not? Then continue.
thank you for this, its an old video but it still helps a lot. I honestly had no idea that those w.e you wanna call em, levers? lol, were there to help adjust the volume, i always had the problem of things being too loud or too quiet or a mix, now my shit sounds a bit more balanced. Now to just figure out how to get them more popping. Liked and Subscribed!
Hey man this helped me out so much! My beats just needed that extra smack that azz 808 to the beat lol The tut helped me out so It should have no problem helping others in the future!
Im in jamaica and turned this beat up while watching the video and WOW...they love it. Cant find you on soundcloud though. Would love to sing on that beat no lie.
I have a problem. My snares drown out my 808's. Everytime they hit, the 808 goes out for as long as the snare hits, kinda like a bad sidechain. Please help!
Aye Slim, Where can i get that arp from? That shit is dope bro! And i been watching alot of your videos lately.. I appreciate the help you give to me and other producers, You make great tutorials and learn us new things or things we didn't figure out yet. Just wanna say thank you and your a awesome producer also:)
Do you put any type of limiter on master when working on track or when bouncing out? somehow I got confused and been using limiter at times. Also can you explain this 2 me, if I making beat @140 bpm would the layout of it be, 8 patterns (nor sure if im explaining myself correct) on the and at 70 be half of that?
yo so everytime my 808 hits the rest of my track lowers in volume and i cant figure out how to fix it. my kick is sidechained to the 808 and i have my main drums (not 808) in a compression bus. HELP
***** Thanks bro, followed you back. lol I'm relieved.. mixing and mastering in some damn earbuds hahha although they are really good ones..and plugged into an M-audio mobile pre
***** Hm, OK. I didn't know, so I set them to 12 since you said all other stuff is set to that...Sounds good on them so far. Also, for 808's and kicks, both are individually set to 6 db? Also, a sub bass is what? 6 db? I set it to 12 but couldn't hear/feel it through my monitors.
***** Bet. Imma peep. Thanks a lot for your help bro...I'm working on my mixtape and producing all of my beats, so I needed this help. I appreciate it vastly. Love you. Lmfao.
hey what up brother. hey i am producer myself i dont use fruity loops that much i use my hardware and software in my studio. but if u can do me a favor and make a video showing me how to use FL i appreciate it. i used it before but i forgot so if u can help me out i appreciate that fam. good videos u make god bless.
Hey bro can u please help like I have watched videos on mixing and mastering but it kinda has not helped me like when u have a basic beginner beat with only 3 patterns on Fl studio do you only send those 3 patterns in the mixer please help
hey im kind of having trouble with my kick, when it hits it fades everything out and when it stops for a sec everything comes in all loud. can you tell me what im missing?
Goto your sequencer, click on the sample with your mouse arrow, you will see a pop up window that says "Channel Settings" goto to the "FX" at the top far right and drag down in the box with your mouse arrow.
This is not mixing just riding the faders. To mix drums or get them to hit you need to understand your freq ranges and put everything into its on space. Rick
yo is there a secret to flstudio 10 my friends wont tell me why they wont change over to 12 with me they want me to figure it out they are assholes i have a feeling 10 has a secret about 808 kicks or something like that or maybe piano roll i ask all fl 10 user to hear there response can you help me out
i personally like 12 better. tracking is much easier and everything is more thought out. I heard that the PND preset was taken out of FL Studios 12 though.
PARTYNEXTDOOR. like the guy Drake signed. That's where he gets his name. The only reason I think your friends aren't updating is because they're use to FL10. Updating involves a learning curve.
+MrDifferentTV naw I hear you, bro. I watch all your videos and have learned a lot from you, bro. I know you know what mixing is that's why I was surprised lol
Well depending on how much time and effort you put in a beat. Volume is just a small part of mixing. You also need to EQ and compress to make sure it doesn't sound horrible with the melody and vice versa
I been using your mixing methods....helped me alot. Keep them coming
Dude,@1:20 you saved me countless minutes wasted tracking my mix.....you rock!
THANKYOU you the only one who knows whassup. I been lookin FOREVER fo a tutorial like this. Short video that gets to the point and shows you exactly how to do it. Not what not to do and what everyone else does, just straight up how to do it. I appreciate you I just subbed liked and hit tha notification button thank you g
nice, direct to the point, not too much knob and plugin dabbling...gonna try this on my next single.
Wow this was great it helped me out a lot. Keep up the great work stay blessed
Bro your videos are very good and appreciate it once again helping me out alot
Thanks alot bro I was having problems leveling my instruments and that helped lots!!!
I was hoping for some eq'ing and compressing, the only thing you did was adjust the volume levels.
Yeah I saw that, gonna check it out again. Good looking out.
90% percent of a good mix is proper leveling eq and panning
Real simple but everything a producer needs if you already know how to engineer. Thank you very much for this video mane!
A big thanks from Belgium....
This is really great dude.
thanks a bunch my brother i have seen plenty of videos but none straight to the point like this thumbs up and subsribed
what vst's did you use for this beat it was dope i started jumping around as soon as you played it?
Thanks dawg. Answered a lot of questions i've been wondering for awhile.
Thanks, I really had a problem with this. I can't wit to get home and try it.
Nice tutorial, What VST are you using for that arp lead?
Really really helpfull! Appreciate . Thanks man !
Also, do you have a tutorial on compressing drums?
Would you mind sharing your Vanguard settings for your arp?
nice beat, thx for the video!
hey man, great tutorial, that setting the master channels at once was a great tip. also was wondering you could send me that kick or tell me where you got it, would really appreciate it
Thanks man...I appreciate that!!
Good video. A lot of people don't get that something as simple as levelingcan make or break a mix. I usually don't let my instruments jump pass -10 db. My drums are all around -5 or -6 and my 808 sub around -8. Balance!!
808s should be mixed at 8 - 10 DB nothing less nothing more. Add a punchy filter on your kicks to play behind your 808.
Thank you so much! My 808's were distorting when I took off the Fruity Limiter, now everything is sounding about right. This beat I'm working on is my first time using 808's so I didn't know how to stack 'em.

OK. I record over my stuff so I was making sure. I'm going to eq my other tracks. I need everything sounding right. Imma check your mastering video later.
I meant I am going to mix them...My bad.
Oh wait! For samples should I keep it at 6 or 12 db!? That's what I need to know. I mainly sample.
DreadfulControversy Use your ears, eventually its all personal preferences. The main question is, do you want your sample to pop out or not? Then continue.

Hey man this helped me out so much!
My beats just needed that extra smack that azz 808 to the beat lol

yo that kick knocks! Do you have any kick tutorials on here?
how did you get nexus2 Refx ?
When you added in your kick and 808 the master channel was hitting like 0? I thought headroom was needed?
Gr8 shit...Helpful.
Great Video!
Thanks man this vid helped
I have a problem. My snares drown out my 808's. Everytime they hit, the 808 goes out for as long as the snare hits, kinda like a bad sidechain. Please help!

Good look bro✊🏽💯
should the 808 be around -4_-6 db also if I'm not using 808 say if I'm using like a bass guitar what db range should I am for on that.
Do you put any type of limiter on master when working on track or when bouncing out?
somehow I got confused and been using limiter at times.
Also can you explain this 2 me, if I making beat @140 bpm would the layout of it be, 8 patterns (nor sure if im explaining myself correct)
on the and at 70 be half of that?
Dude how do you get your samples sounding so clean? Mine sound so muddy and I can't do anything about it, tried everything..
yo so everytime my 808 hits the rest of my track lowers in volume and i cant figure out how to fix it. my kick is sidechained to the 808 and i have my main drums (not 808) in a compression bus. HELP
Whats the name of the Snare?
I still haven't gotten an answer to my question from you. Are referring to rms or peak level?
Thanks alot, very helpful vid ^^
I can't stand FL Studios layout. I'm Ableton live. But, I will be trying this mixing method. looks good, very simple and to the point, good job.
good job man, yea most people I hear have a problem with knowing what db levels are good.. thanks bro
I made this beat and used your mixing tutorials word for word, tell me what u think. soundcloud.com/lostboizproductions/dreamz
***** Thanks bro, followed you back. lol I'm relieved.. mixing and mastering in some damn earbuds hahha although they are really good ones..and plugged into an M-audio mobile pre
true that man
cheers bruh.
Holup. what about Bass lines. do you treat them with the same dB levels as the horns or the drums?
***** ok, cool
Good Shit G
you helped me there
For samples, what dB should they be? 12? Not snares/kick samples, straight sounds/instrumentals/voices/etc.

Hey bro can u please help like I have watched videos on mixing and mastering but it kinda has not helped me like when u have a basic beginner beat with only 3 patterns on Fl studio do you only send those 3 patterns in the mixer please help
however many instrument patterns you have, you send each one to its own mixer channel whether it's 3 or 100
is it better to mix without the limiter on the master track? cus i notice you dident have on there
how much do they price for?
ok man thanks
hey im kind of having trouble with my kick, when it hits it fades everything out and when it stops for a sec everything comes in all loud. can you tell me what im missing?

***** bro what kick is that? good shit btw.
***** You really only need to EQ certain things...Not everything.
Oh OK certain sounds I don't eq though. Like certain hi hats or snares.
