    NiB for BCG’s is terrible. The most out of spec carriers I’ve ever seen were all NiB. Dimensional issues and the application of the nib can actually hurt the substrate material underneath.

    I love running a nice phosphate BCG. I run son's of liberty gun works in my ARs.the bcg is the heart of the rifle, no bcg, no pew pew. its not a part of the rifle you want to get cute with by trying out different coatings. Alot of the serious fighting rifles stick with phosphate bolts. BCM, Daniel Defense, Sons of liberty etc.

    @Danger Noodle. Another reason I would go with it AR9 is muscle memory. While obviously not the same exact same rifle/pistol as the AR-15, I believe the two are similar enough so that the muscle memory developed with your AR-15, should mostly be applicable to the AR-9. I think from a HD or even PDW perspective that’s pretty significant.

    Don't get me wrong I love you BA, but $450 for the stripped 9mm glock receiver set 😩🤤😝 I've been looking forward to this set but dang, I can get a complete gen 4 AR9 from PSA for $550!

    • @AUXdrone
      @AUXdrone 5 років тому +1

      AlphaRomeo-OneFive yep. Pricey.

    • @donhammer186
      @donhammer186 5 років тому +4

      @AlphaRomeo. Sure, you can save $$ with PSA but, (my opinion) B.A./Aero parts are a much higher quality and are well above "Mil Spec" in dimensioning. Remember "Mil Spec" is a "minimum" acceptable tolerance. In other word's "it has to fit", not necessarily, "fit well". Have a great weekend everyone!

    • @AlphaRomeoOneFive
      @AlphaRomeoOneFive 5 років тому +2

      @@donhammer186 I do agree AP and BA are higher quality, I'm not debating that whatsoever. I have parts from both companies on all 3 of my AR's and love them. In my opinion charging $450 for a 9mm stripped lower and upper is crazy. I guess I'm just bummed that it's that much. Barrel and bcg are the heart and soul, and where the money should be spent. Not on an upper and lower even though I was really looking forward to this set.

    • @donhammer186
      @donhammer186 5 років тому +2

      It is high, about all I can add is, I hope they realize it and lower the price in time. I'd like to build one myself. I have a PSA that I had to do a lot of work on to get rid of the rattles and shooting acceptably, I was regretting buying that one but, I'm a fussy ol bugger. Best of luck AlphaRomeo.

    Im new to the AR platform.I currently have a Mil Spec phosphate finished bcg.I want to upgrade and looking at nickel boron or titanium nitride.My barel is 223 wylde.Will any Ar15 bcg for 556/223 do the job? Not sure if they all fit the same

    • @muddyhotdog4103
      @muddyhotdog4103 4 роки тому +1

      Honestly, a different bcg coating isn't going to do much but eat your money if your bcg works fine already. And if it is already worn into your upper then I wouldn't change it as your bolt is already mated to your barrel. I mean you can but you might wanna headspace your new bolt to the used barrel then if you do.
      I've bought a few wonder coating bcgs for rifles myself, but have gone back to standard phosphate milspec name brand bcgs (colt, bcm, daniel defense, Lmt) as they hold lube whereas nickel boron and nitride tends to shed it. I mean if you buy/build a new rifle then why not try one out, but if the one you're using works then getting a new fancy coated bcg isn't going to make you a better shooter and to tell the truth they don't clean that much easier to the point where you should change one out.
      But it is good to have back ups so there's that too. And yes, all standard ar15/m16 bcgs should work in your rifle if it's made for your caliber (ie 223/556). The only difference between an ar15 cut bcg and m16/full auto cut is that one has more material to trip an auto sear. The m16 cut one IS legal and preferred by most as it has a lil more weight to help with locking time making it more reliable usually. I wouldn't mess with any low mass bcgs as they're more of a niche part for tuning competition rifles which aren't aimed at reliability typically. Nickel boron/nib-x is ok, though it tends to stain black after a while and flake after hard use *sometimes*. Np3 is a lil better imo. Nitride is better imo as it's just tougher. Hard chrome is nice when done right(it can flake too) and imo is better than nib, and dlc is one of the new players that's pretty good too. Just buy quality and it should serve you right. All in all I've seen the least problems with reputable milspec carpenter 158 phosphate bcgs though.
