got one your 20" 223 wylde barrels for my first build coming in a few days ... excited to complete my first rifle!
I recently bought the 18" fluted premium barrel. I now have about 30 rounds through it. I put it on a full length rifle lower. But, it's light weight enough I'm considering swapping it to a carbine lower.
I did scrub the barrel with Hoppes before mounting it on the upper and checked it out with my bore scope. I was happy with the results. This is my 3rd BA barrel. I see a 4th in the near future.
I bought the 16" .223 Wylde Tactical, Gov., S/S, Midlength AR 15 Barrel w/ Ops 12 and love it!

Ordered the fluted 18” spr today🤞- I’ve had some incredible results from BA 416R barrels in the past. In my experience, once I find the ammo the particular barrel loves, half MOA is achievable if I can shoot Half MOA, which is by far the toughest part! These barrels seem to do their job is my point once the individual barrels harmonics are matched to the correct round. I’m no expert for sure but my process has been to use black hills OTM in 6 or 7 varieties, almost always above 68 grains though, and just see which groups the best while keeping the barrel relatively cool. Big fan here and loyal BA buyer! Also love the Hanson’s with the pinned gas block but this last purchase was for the rifle length gas so unfortunately couldn’t go Hanson. Also my first fluted barrel- wanted to try it out. Great videos!
How did you like your barrel?
17.7" Hanson for the win. Paired up with an A5H2 buffer setup for super smooth, flat shooting.
This video helped me a lot. I already ordered the 17.7 3 gun barrel. I have a carbine lower to mate with my upper. Question is to get a soft shooting reliable gun what weight buffer and spring do I use ?
I am now ordering a 20inch SPR barrel that will use another carbine lower.
Same question, what buffer weight and spring do you recommend ? Thank you so much in advance ❤️
I stuffed a 14.5” BA-Fluted Hanson barrel in an m4e1 receiver set & rounded out with strike industries components and was very impressed with the machining quality & the value of barrel with the most import test of how it shoots some 69&77gr imi razor core, coming soon.
My only question is, does BA have any plans to offer any of their fluted 416r barrels with some wear resistant coating along the lines of melonite or nitride coatings, or something other than just bare metal to assist in a longer barrel life and exposure to the elements?
Asking since I’m looking at grabbing a 20” fluted 6.5grendel BA barrel to have finished for deer season next fall.

Great videos! I’ve had difficulty in the past with more than one 18” Rifle Gas barrel when trying to mate that barrel to a carbine buffer system (std). My belief has been this is a gas port sizing issue with barrels manufactured with the intent of use only with a rifle buffer system. Yet, I have had many people say that I’m wrong and that they had no issue using an 18” rifle gas barrel and carbine buffer system.
Assuming my gas block alignment is correct and the port and gas tube are unobstructed, can gas port sizing on these barrels be that different between manufacturers and/or profiles? If so, is there a standard they go by that a buyer can use to tell them apart?
Which of your gas systems are softer flatter shooting for running and gunning for rifle competition? 17.7 midlength BA premium Hanson ,your "3gun" barrel or a fluted SPR stainless18" rifle length system?
What kind accuracy differences are you seeing between the performance series spr 18" and the premium series spr 18"(assuming everything else is the same). Good vids guys, happy bday big dog.

Will the right angles on a muzzle device mess with the performance of a Hanson profile barrel?
Question: on the 13.7” Hanson barrel, what was the reason for choosing carbine length over midlength gas system, and will dwell times be an issue? I recently purchased this barrel from your website and I’m trying to get more info on this barrel so I can do some calculations in my head to get an idea of how my rifle will work once built. Thanks.
Im looking for the most accurate 18" NON stainless steel barrel I can find. I wanted Daniel defense's but they are impossible to find right now. What would you guys recommend for a mk12/spr inspired rifle build?
Does the gas port enter the bore in between the lands or in the lands of the rifling?

hey guys maybe somebody can help me out I bought the 223 wylde 1/8 premium fluted barrel and I hate to say this but haven't had very good luck with it at all 4 to 6 MOA Ive tried 55gr and 62gr of federal/ hornady 68gr and 75gr of Black Hills and some Sig Sauer 77gr and just no consistency so I thought my scope is lose maybe nope I even took another scope off my hunting rifle and had the same issue I checked the VG6 muzzle break I had it on another rifle with no issue I just cant figure out my accuracy problem
Happy Birthday Clint! Why doesn’t BA make a lightweight Hanson profile barrel with a rifle length gas system? Either 18” or 20”. I love the weight of my 17.7” Hanson, but wish it had the smoother recoil impulse of my 18” SPR.

I have a question!!!
If one has an adjustable weight buffer system and adjustable gas block on their rig. For a given load. What is the correct process for adjusting the two together, to optimize the cycling of the rifle and reduce recoil?

Just received my barrel the outside has great finish but the inside was rusted and after removing the rust is heavy pitted have tried contacting them with no success hopefully they respond soon
Any update?
After about two months of waiting they got back with me sent the barrel back and they returned it looks like they just polished the barrel haven’t had a chance to shoot it yet so will see looks really nice

Clint you're obviously not being truthful, my 20" 223 Wylde barrel is definitely the most accurate barrel out of your shop.
BA 223W 16" or 18" Tactical Government Premium Black Series ( MK12 Mod H Profile ) is one of the best 223W on the market . I've tried 4 or 5 diffrent 223W barrels . I definitely favor 416R QPQ or Nitride . I'm not really fan of S.S. by itself .
CRITERION CORE or Hybrid was my go too for years . Then I got the BA Tactical Gov 223W and it shoots identical to the CRITERION Barrels . I'll never spend 300 on 223W barrel again . BA Premium Black Series is the way to go for sure ..
Wish BA made 223W TACTICAL Gov P.B.S. in 13.9 or 14.5 . Then I'd have 0 reason to look at any other barrel lol..
BA Hanson and TACTICAL Gov are my 2 favorite barrels because they are accurate as hell and dont break the bank ..
I just put a 18inch hanson on my are and it short cycles Everytime, I have a rifle buffer what do you recommend I shoot 50 grain hornaday vmax
Either you have weak ammunition or need a lighter buffer spring. Try a lighter buffer spring first.
It's not the buffer spring and of course the ammo is week it's .223 shoots 5.56 fine but no 223 thinking I need to bore the gas port
My carbine shoots the stuff fine and I put that lower on it still the same issue
Check your gas block alignment too...

I am returning for exchange an 18" SS SPR premium as Im sold by the stellar reviews of the 16 hanson profile.
But then Clint dropped that most accurate barrel ever left the factory was a fluted 18" SPR premium.....

What I have been told that 223 wylde can shoot 556 NATO is this true I'm new to the ar platform and at the point of buy a barrel for it
Travis Allen that is correct. .223 Wylde can shoot either round 5.56 or .223. They say the chambering in the .223 wylde makes it “more accurate” but we know more goes into accuracy than that, but it can’t hurt. Hope that helps.

I ordered the heavy fluted Ballistic Advantage barrel and when I got it and bore scoped it was completely full of rust from the chamber to the crown and after trying to brush out the rust it shot 2 moa with match grade ammo and with the same ammo my Proof research 18 inch barrel shot under .5 moa a complete waste of 285 bucks on a poor quality barrel that looks good on the outside but the inside of the barrel sucks
The same has happened to me they don’t respond to emails or phone calls
