I am sorry for this save, i did overrun mainland france and italy, but i couldn't overrun belgium (there were too many enemy divisions and mine were just terrible) and they launched multiple naval invasions in northern france (thats how my divisions were encicled near Dunkirque). I didn't want to change the tank and motorized divisions, because i didn't have the equipment for medium tank divisions (i didn't think about taking factories from the infantry equipment).
The soviet union declared war on czechoslovakia over east poland, as far as i remember (i gave czechoslovakia poland, because i didn't want to garison it).
I hope you didn't have too many mental meltdowns, because of my save😅.

Meanwhile in the allied high command: “Do not worry sir. I can assure you that the RAF can destroy the Germans holding out in Dunkirk.”
also in allied high command: "We've retaken most of mainland France."

"That's it, pack it up, we surrender."

This is definitely a new player; it took me a few hundred hours to realize I could change my division templates
A few hundred hours?? Did you not watch youtube to make it more challenging and to learn the game mechanics on your own?
@@IntrusYT I watched ISP and Rambler in 2017, that's how I learned about the game. But it was pretty rare for either of them to display their division templates, and I NEVER saw them press the actual buttons that change the divisions.

It was a US game and I had destroyed the IJN, but on land I had suffered hard. 150k Garands in the hole and two entire armies wiped out trying to invade mainland Japan. Eventually took Japan with brute force (contributing to that -150k number) and abandoned a front I had in Korea, losing even more men as I had no idea about strategic withdrawal.
You're probably asking at this point why the Co-Prosperity Sphere wasn't capped. That's because China, a Japanese puppet, was a major. I had already suffered a terrible defeat in Indochina, losing every division I had sent there, and I kinda left it there for many months.
Came back later after learning a lot about the game (this was way back in 1.9) and turned things around. Assigned a massive amount of factories to guns to remove my deficit, and reopened my failed fronts. By 45 I had pushed remnants of Japan and China back, but found myself at a deadlock in Northern Vietnam. Nukes broke that stalemate and by 46, closing in from Indochina and Manchuria, I capitulated them.
Then Germany declared war (I had not joined the war in Europe and an Uber-Germany had formed). Gave up for pretty obvious reasons and then 1.10 came out soon after.

Moreover the new MOI for Germany can give you -5% production cost for light/medium as well as +5% armor and +5% speed so it's really worth it to invest into the light tanks and then refit them for the SPG role you talked about
As I see it with Light Tanks, after 1939, their role changes from being a good start to spearheads to being the units you use to quickly encircle a front line piecemeal after a breakthrough is done by the better Mediums (or Heavies if someone *really* decides they want to do it). They are much harder to pierce than Motorized and usually cheaper than Mechanized if done right. They're also excellent as landing support since it is far easier to take the loss of 100 Light Tanks in the water than 100 Mediums or Heavies.
I also personally use them as the basis for SPG's since it's a nice "cheap" way to give Infantry soft attack and armor alongside Flame Tanks. Even it's a single factory producing them for at max 4 units, that's 4 units that can make a hard push where the Mediums and Motorized/Mechanized normally can't.
light tanks are just entirely outdone by mech due to mech having very high defence/hp allowing to trail behind and last stand one tile while taking little strength damage
same for naval landings, mech marines are king
@@BobbiusRossius Mech is not defensive because of that, it's because of the hardness, that is the core aspect of the mech defence, to reduce the damage intake from soft attack, because high defence alone doesn't work

At least in the current patch, 30 is not optimal. 35 is the current 'meta' cuz it fits better in plains.

@@poopqqqBitt3r explains why he prefers 30 in this video. Anything can push through plains, but 30 is better for forest tiles which cover a lot of defensive positions in Europe.
Imagine Free France setting up a provisional government in Syria rather than the mainland and being sent into such a panic by the fall of Damascus that they send an order to the mainland telling all their troops to disband and hand their weapons to the Nazis, and all their government officials to welcome Petain back into the country and surrender to him.

2:40 I have to disagree here, with advanced light tanks, you can still have sufficient armor against AI divisons (who still doesn't put AT) and the speed advantage is just so good to pass up. Furthermore, light tanks are 20% cheaper than medium tanks for the same speed, so if you want to mass produce tanks, go light

Just an fyi, if you build a lvl 1 port it’s much much faster than a supply Hub and functions as one if it has rail access even with no supply ships

Love that sub spam is still a thing! When I do it though, I only manage to sink convoys. Do you NEED some spotter destroyers or spy planes in order to sink the enemies' navy?
subs aren't really good at sinking navies
Just put it on always engage, you replace the loses
Subs have a very weak torpedo potential compared to light cruisers or destroyers. Subs are best used at long range to snipe convoys while the rest of your fleet is split between port strike and patrol.
Subs will also usually try to run due to their low power, even though they can often win engagements from an IC perspective. This is generally desired since they should not be the entirety of your navy if you are a major. That said, wasting IC replacing lost Subs instead of expanding into new regions is also a bad idea in the long run, as shutting down trade helps win the war as Axis or commintern.

You've shrunk your tank divisions! I agree that 30 offers more flexibility than 40 width. Also, if 60 width of armor isn't doing the job, 80 probably won't either, so may as well have more divisions.

I never understood what's the point of 40 width considering the MASSIVE supply use it has, supply is already such a hassle with Barbarossa, I don't see why you would make it worse on yourself on purpose
@@IntrusYT I mean fighting against AI on normal difficulty, just do whatever is fun for you! I quite like when you have a full army of tank divisions ploughing across the American Midwest, and the 30 width lets you fit nicer into some terrain types. On a 90 width for instance you can pack in more tanks on a front without penalty, so you attack with 3 slightly smaller divisions rather than 2. It makes sense, I switched a while ago (same with 25 width mountaineers with all the artillery), but again, if you're enjoying yourself and you're not in a 2.5k tank deficit then go for it.

Question, does a disaster save need to have DLC to be sent. I am new to the game, and just finished a Germany game successfully (though I invaded the USA instead of the USSR). I might have disaster save later though.

I tried this game and the Allies had at least 3 times as many divisions, couldn't push anything, but I'm in 1945 and going strong.

For some reason I never seem to have the industry to produce proper tank, mech, or motorized divisions to push for breakthroughs and encirclements with. I see you do it in every video, but can’t seem to make it work with any nation. Going to probably give Germany or Russia another go soon to see what I can do with it. Any advice would be welcome! I’m 500 hours in and still suck at this game
