@sluys1999 then why do vegans avoid buying things like leather? that's not a food, so clearly their aversion to animal products extends beyond dietary reasons
It is a diet...and more. No one practices it anyway. Let's use you as an example. You use animal products just to argue for attention. You never win because you can't be honest. It's both "possible and practicable" to stay off this entertainment platform which is made with animal products. You know all of this and continue coming here anyway so it proves you don't really care about animals.
Left after 14 years. I was quite sick with many. symptoms for a long time, I just did not want to admit it had anything to do with my diet. I was shocked how quick several of my symptoms healed after going back to animal protein.
@@cassclare Hard to say if any of them are valid because we do not have the necessary information. I'm almost one year vegan now and my health has improved drastically, but I'm not claiming veganism is the reason I feel so much better now, because in reality, before going vegan I ate a pretty shitty, unhealthy diet. It's absolutely possible that I would've had the same health improvements if I had just switched to a healthy omnivore diet. And with Pete, well, he didn't say anything about the actual cause of his health issues, not sure if he even went to see a doctor to investigate it. He just assumed it was the animal products that helped him get better, but it could've been just a coincidence or a placebo effect as well. There could also be undiagnosed food intolerances, and simply just leaving out those foods would make a huge difference. For me, even if I kept eating my unhealthy food, just cutting out lactose would've probably already made a huge difference. Unless you actually know the exact cause of health issues, you can't really tell what actually cured them.
I’ve had periods of not consuming animal products but as we often lead busy lives actually found I ended up consuming much more processed food. I think this is even worse now with the food industry sees profit in ‘plant based’ convenience food. I’m on a path of pursuing a more natural lifestyle and eating meat is part of that.
If you are in the position to eat whatever you want, eat what you want. My ex and I had gone mostly vegetarian before the pandemic and that worked out really well as there was veggies in the stores during the food shortages, but then at some point, we just started eating meat again. I also feel the best when I don't eat carbs, so that narrows my options.
Vegan diet is a starvation fast. That’s why you feel amazing in the beginning. After 4 weeks fasting on a vegan diet, the body will begin consuming healthy cells to pillage nutrients to nourish itself. Plant foods don’t digest in stomach acid and are required to ferment in the gut in order to extract SCFAs. This process only provides 6-9 % of the body’s nutritional requirements. On the contrary, animal foods digest completely in both the stomach and small intestines, so the fatty acids that enter the gut actually heal the gut and the digest system, resulting in optimal health.
@@Assassin99584 The Vegan Society’s formal definition is: "Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude-as far as is possible and practicable-all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. What drive me nuts is when people make fun of people who are saying they had to stop being vegan or vegetarian, or pass away due to being vegan/ vegetarian, when they quit or pass due to health problems from plant based. This is true scientific evidence that proves plant based diets cause human illnesses, diseases, and cancers over time. Vegan and vegetarian diets, any plant based diet, even the current food pyramid that is so plant based heavy, is nothing to joke and tease if someone quits. Nothing about eating plant heavy is right, so stop saying they did it wrong! You are seeing the truth of why it was designed by 7th Day Adventist Christians- and no- the “save planet” and “save animals” was a scare tactic to get you hooked so you would follow their religious non science based ideology. 7th Day Adventist Christians are not making these plant based diets to make humans healthy, and not to save any animals or the planet. It was to ruin human hormones! Look at human biology- hormones control all in your system and if they get ruined with plant based foods it damages all. Just to mention a few things that affects. Ladies start to see loss of period, PCOS, cysts, Fibroids in uterus and breast. Irregular periods, severe PMS symptoms before they loose their periods, depression, cancers in breast - uterus - and ovaries, hair loss, weight gain, and so much more that leads into all the illnesses, cancers, and diseases you are seeing today. Men get ED, low testosterone, hair loss, weight gain, depression to just name a few, and all the illnesses, diseases, and cancers like prostate cancer you see today. Teenagers-plants cause weight gain if over eat, muscle loss, pimples, depression, eating disorders, anxiety, leukemia and all other cancers, and all other health issues listed for ladies and men. Be a scientist before making a decision on your health. Do research! Men and ladies have thyroid issues so body temps ruined, hair loss, weight gain of visceral fats that lead to all problems you see today-and all illnesses, diseases, and cancers seen today. Eating disorders, can become emaciated, get osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, kidney failure, gall bladder damage and removal, brain fog, dementia, teeth rotten, sarcopenia, heart disease, organ failure in general, and so on. I traveled with my family to Jamaica; I’m Jamaican-American and basically consistent on veggie beef Pattie’s and some random tofu I found at a store while the rest of my family ate meat and occasionally gave me side eye. If I was traveling solo or had my own car I could drive around and find sources I suppose. I was in Japan recently briefly, and lived off of protein bars and chips I packed, random convenient store food and breakfast and the occasional meal I cooked at my place. I would take 1-2 hours to find the few vegetarian restaurants which were kind of mediocre. I should’ve gone to Indian places. London was actually great and had more options than US. I’m not anti-vegan and I’m ok with the downsides of being vegetarian in social situations (I’ve done it without eating meat ONCE for 10+ years), but giving an answer makes it look way easier and not acknowledging the extra work to conquer the resistance to following the diet. Because there are positives in terms of health and making people aware of how much meat they consume and making people adopt healthier habits (the norm isn’t great in USA particularly).
I have no issues with long road trips either. I basically cook the vast majority of my meals. It’s only annoying in scenarios where I go to restaurants, are on longer trips with non-vegetarian friends, or have a quick trip and don’t have time to locate good resources. Of course with time you get better at having things ready on-hand and being flexible with recipes and ingredients to have meals that hit macros
I'm trying a keto-ish diet at the moment. I have to say I do feel clarity and less bloated. What does your diet look like now you've introduced animal foods?

I have been a flexitarian for years now. Most days I eat vegetarian. Once in a while I have eggs or fish (I stay away from dairy generally), and way less frequently I have meat. I noticed that cutting the meat down to rarely made me much happier on many levels and I prefer meat substitutes like seitan, tofu, tempeh, beans and TVP anyway. We absolutely have to adapt to how things change for us in order to feel in our best alignment.

Hi Pete, I know it's a hard thing to quantify but roughly how much meat are you eating? Is it multiple servings per day? Or is once serving a day, or even just a few a week sufficient? I am facing similar issues around lethargy and I am contemplating reintroducing meat. Any feedback from you would be appreciated.
Hey there Matthew, here is what I eat in a day. Maybe this will help. In the morning, I'll have a couple of eggs and a pork chop. That will easily take me to noon and then some. Afternoon meal could be fish, chicken, beef, and occasionally some sweet potatoes but not often. For the evening I may not eat, I may not be hungry yet, but again, a bit of cheese, yogurt, it depends on how hungry I am. I'm not strict about my diet, I will have a couple of bananas, I'll do carrots, and sweet potato occasionally. Once you get past the sugar/carb addiction, your body will tell you what it wants. I do have a meal of liver (raw) at least once every couple weeks and about once a month. I'll crave sweet potatoes or bananas, so I get a couple. That is about it. For years, I ate "healthy" fruits, vegetables, and plenty of grains/seeds and ended up feeling like garbage, body aches, joint pain, lethargic, and just plain ill and run down. I looked into the dietary sciences, and it completely changed my diet and the way I felt. Of course, I'll have a couple of cheat days like Christmas or Thanksgiving and usually feel like crap afterward, likely due to the high sugar desserts and carbs. It's the sugar and high carbs that put me in a defunct coma. I stay away from all grain/seeds/nuts. They are bird food, not human food. I stay away from legumes, leafy greens, and especially nightshades. This made a huge difference in my life. People will do differently on specific diets. You gotta figure out what works for you. Its funny, for most of my life, I had lactose intolerant symptoms from dairy, but since I kicked most of the plants out of my diet, dairy products became a big part of my diet without any issues. Try some fish and egg, but you gotta kick that sugar and carbs, not all but most. The average sweetness level of fruits was about the same level of modern-day carrots before we genetically modified everything to a ridiculous level of sugar content. Food for thought. I hope this may help you, take care and good luck!
How you getting on?…. Some ideas. Eggs, tomato, hash brown. For breakfast. Lunch, light salad with fish, small side of rice. Dinner. Steak 🥩veggies potatoes 🥔.
You were never VEGAN, veganism is about ANIMALS rights, not about diet or about health. You were plant based like you said in the video for health reasons. Real vegan can never become ex vegan. There is no such thing as ex vegan. Someone who cares about animals, which you don't, would never ever ever ever again support animal cruelty in any shape or form. Stop spreading misinformation. There is no excuse for animal abuse.
Humans hunt meat like deer. They appreciate the animal with providing them a balanced nutrition and good health. Do you save all the living things from farming equipment that plows down your massive mono cropping plant based foods?! No you don’t! Do you have farmers not spray pesticides to keep from harming all the living creatures that try to eat your plants? No you don’t. And the bugs that eat your pesticides get eaten by birds that get harmed. Then the birds get eaten and the animals that eat them get harmed and so on! There are so many species of animals harmed by your pesticides! Do you care if living creatures smaller than a sheep get harmed? No you don’t. Do you relocate every single living creature who looses it’s homes to deforestation from you cutting harmless trees to do massive mono cropping? No you do not! They get pushed into city’s and harmed! They get harmed from massive deforestation equipment, scattering all over helpless, sad and confused! The trees that once stood now gone all due to massive mono cropping plant based foods for humans! Do you care if our natural forests continue to be harmed and cleared for your massive mono cropping for plant based foods that need a clear space, but one day our planet no longer has any forests- no way to purify our air and provide homes for living creatures- no you do not. Do you go outside and dig a hole to potty 3-8 times a day to dispose all the plant based material you ate that did not absorb in your human body due to it not being bio available and anti nutrient and naturally toxic to your body, to conserve toilet paper and water? No you do not. Do you replenish the soils from your mono cropping? No you do not! Our planet’s soils are being harmed from the massive amount of mono cropping occurring! Over time the soils will be beyond help! Shall I keep going? Your explanation of humans eating meat is extreme- but my perspective of humans eating herbivore food is not. You harm so many living things and do not care. You ruin the nutrients from soils from mono cropping and you do not care! You waste water when flushing toilets 3-8 times a day but you do not care. You deforest trees for large mono cropping and you do not care. You ruin homes for living animals of all sizes to deforest the forests to put in mono cropping and you do not care. You deforest trees to turn into excessive amounts of toilet paper and you do not care! Your body excretes carbon from eating plant toxins and you do not care, affecting our ozone layer because your colons can’t process the natural plant toxins and fermentation. Why have humans been eating more plant based in the past 100+ years, notice I said HEAVY plant based, not light seasonal due to not finding meat- to prevent starvation. Heavy plant based eaters get the sick with illnesses, diseases, and cancers you see today which continues to rise, but you do not care! You continue to follow the religious agenda of the 7th Day Adventists Christians by not eating meat, not eating animals saturated fats, and eating heavy plant based foods! The 7th day Adventists Christians only made the heavy plant based diets up to ruin human hormones and it’s working! When you ruin human hormones it ruins the whole body and how it functions- which leads to the escalating illnesses, disease, and cancers you see today! The 7th day Adventists Christians don’t care if you get sick- they just tricked you into eating plant based heavy by making sympathy tactics like, “save planet” and “save animals.” And guess what-they fooled you. I refuse to follow a non science based corrupt religious agenda by them! Humans on carnivore choose health over being sick! They choose longevity. They choose to not be a statistic of all the illnesses, diseases, and cancers! They choose to follow science based ways of eating that shows healing- that’s what we call carnivore. We replenish our soils, take care of our forests, we rotate our ranching, we appreciate the animals for providing us goos health, our ranching does not require deforestation, does not require harming living things with pesticides! We don’t waste water or toilet paper because the human body digests all with little to poop out. Go do your research! Your way of eating still harms living things and and our planet! Open your eyes!

Each year there are 80 BILLION land animals + 2.3 TRILLION marine animals murdered for human consumption. Are you aware how much crops need to be grown to feed 80 BILLION animals and how much water is used in the process? If you cared even about humans you'd know that by people going plant based we could end world hunger because instead of feeding 80billion land animals which eat much more crops then 8billion humans could ever we could use that same land and much much less to grow crops only for human consumption. If you care about humans even, which is obvious you don't, since humans who work in slaughter houses are often those that are poor and have no other option but that to survive by paying for these products you are forcing these people as well to become completely traumatized by working there or they end up complete psychopaths and human murderers as well, if you cared about humans you'd still go plant based. 99% of humans eat factory farmed animal products so what are you on about deer hunting? entire nature has been ruined because of animal agriculture so again what are you on about? I am vegan because I care about animals and I want to do as less harm as possible to animals. Before going vegan I was anemic, sick, lost and completely asleep. Before going vegan I didn't know that veganism even existed, I haven't watched even one video where someone tried to persuade me to stop contributing to this holocaust. Each day when I'd eat these innocent individuals body parts I'd say poor animal but ..... Then I decided to face what I was supporting and found a video of slaughterhouse footage and watched it. I obviously already knew that animal had to be killed in order for me to eat them but I was very disconnected from exactly what happens to animals in these industries. When I watched this video it broke my heart and overnight I ditched all animal products and I became vegan. You don't need any difficult philosophy to understand what I'm about to say now. When you look at these innocent sentient beings who feel pain just like us, who can feel love just like us, who have families just like us and when you see someone causing them pain, being cruel to them for unnecessary reasons don't you feel it in your heart that this is wrong? It's that simple. If you have heart and at least little intelligence you would see that what you were supporting all along was wrong and is something you should stand against. Because if you were in these non human people's position you wouldn't want to be treated that way. You would want someone to speak up for you since have no voice or ability to defend yourself. This, what is happening to animals is the largest holocaust in the history and the biggest blood and death ritual to which you are contributing if you are not vegan. You are the same as those who are "pushing these agendas" if you are not vegan. All these that you're doing to these animals do you really think it won't come all back to you. Each evil you do to another comes right back to you. So even if you love yourself you'd stop abusing animals. I don't need to move a finger. There are certain universal laws that always work no matter if you believe in them or not. The balance will always be achieved. Action and reaction, positive and negative, what goes around comes around. You have a lot more to learn. Everyone will learn, now whether you want to learn the easy or the hard way you choose.

Not saying a vegan diet works for everyone and if it doesn't the person must've done something wrong, but the fact that you simply switched to animal products without even identifying the root cause, kind of makes it look like you simply wanted to stop being vegan and were looking for an excuse.

A Plant based diet can be adjusted to any health condition. When people make the ethical commitment, they find solutions. Without it they find excuses. They become excusitarian.
I'm vegan myself, but I would disagree. The healthiest plant based diet include meat and animal products. Everyone uses animal products. Some of us are just honest about it and others accuse people of being "excusitarian."
1-3 percent of people are vegan after 20 yrs. Between 10 - 20 yrs its around 40 percent. There's a reason why so few vegans remain so after 20yrs, and it's not because of '' excusitarian''

One cannot simultaneously enjoy eating meat and be sensitive to the pain animals feel when they are slaughtered. Thus meat eaters tend to become insensitive to the sufferings of others and can lose the quality of compassion. Human beings are meant to understand that all life is sacred, and meat eating destroys this vision. The psychological problems caused by this insensitivity are surely a contributing factor in the escalating violence in today's world. It is often said, "Why worry about animals' suffering when there is so much human suffering?" Yet man's insensitivity to man starts with his lack of compassion for the animals. Albert Schweitzer said, "As soon as one loses respect for any part of life, he loses respect for all of it." The law of karma warns us that pain and suffering return upon those who cause it, either in this life or the next. Although primarily identified with the spiritual tradition of India, the principle of karma is reflected in the Golden Rule taught by Christ and other great teachers. "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." The Bible also states, "As you sow, so shall ye reap." Those who eat meat are implicated in all the violence connected with killing animals in the slaughterhouse and must eventually experience such violence themselves. For example, a person who eats meat could take their next birth in the body of an animal and they themselves be slaughtered. Or they may become a casualty in the senseless violence of modern warfare.
By this logic then all vegans would be super kind and sweet and this absolutely not the case. Sorry to say, your theory is false. I've met lots of vegans who scream and yell in peoples faces. My hair fell out well before becoming vegan so could this have been down to eating animal products? It happened after a period of great stress so perhaps the strain could have caused hair loss?
I too went through a Vegetarian phase. Then I applied logic and reasoning. God himself ate meat. I read a book just last week called: Good Question Good Answer. It is a collection of common questions that a Buddhist monk answered. Let me tell you that it was mind boggling - Buddha ate meat until his death.

Your problem was the high amounts of saturated fat from not getting lean meat and not getting fat free dairy
It's always healthier to go from a gluttonous diet to a restrictive diet.

Hi Pete,
I know it's a hard thing to quantify but roughly how much meat are you eating? Is it multiple servings per day? Or is once serving a day, or even just a few a week sufficient?
I am facing similar issues around lethargy and I am contemplating reintroducing meat. Any feedback from you would be appreciated.
Hey bud, shoot me a message on Instagram and I will get back to you there.
Maybe it would be good to check what food you might have an inflammatory response too

Thank you for this video. I've been eating a vegan diet for about 6 years. Last year I started craving things like eggs and fish, so I started slowly adding them back to my diet. I primarily eat plant based, but I feel less anxious knowing I can eat whatever I want now. I feel like I developed a bad relationship with food when I was vegan. Like you, I felt great for a long time, until I didn't. Our bodies change and I'm a firm believer that not one diet works for everyone.
Want to be a guest on my channel?
Now you develop bad relationship with animal!!! Animal are notfood
What nutrient where you missing that you felt you needed to eat fish and eggs ?
Low carb diet =eating disorder =ex vegan 100%
If you started eating animal products because of some cravings you got you were never vegan in the first place
Well, at least not an ex-vegan who was on some stupid extrem vegan diet like raw vegan or fruitarian, who then blames veganism for his stupid dietary choices like 90% of all ex vegans on UA-cam.
That being said, I find it a bit odd that you never mentioned seeing a doctor, but thought "well, I'm going to try animal products" and even when that didn't work, you just prolonged it.
So without any blood work done (at least you didn't mention that you did) it's impossible to say if it was actually your diet that was responsible for your health issues. Without the root cause for your problems, it could be pure coincidence or placebo effect that it got better after you started eating animal products.
Not saying a vegan diet works for everyone and if it doesn't the person must've done something wrong, but the fact that you simply switched to animal products without even identifying the root cause, kind of makes it look like you simply wanted to stop being vegan and were looking for an excuse.
aaand we remain selfish and destructive.. nice.
Yep, just like everyone else.

As others have commented I dont think you were ever vegan as you never mentioned the animal cruelty that is involved in animal agriculture, you just focused on not eating them for your health. This isnt what veganism is about, its not about us, its about reducing using animals for food, entertainment or any other purpose. I dont blame you for seeking optimal health through food. It could have been due to manynother factors, water or air qulaity or even motivation andnother lifestyle factors. Its proven that whole food plant based foods are the healthier and that meat and dairy cayse 8 out of the 10 human killers including heart disease and cancer.
After going for a whole six years as a vegan, it's a great shame that you decided to just give up on that. Your energy levels could have been raised by eating plant-based foods that are good for that such as; Bananas which are high in potassium, complex carbs, and vitamin B6 (all of which can boost energy), Sweet Potatoes, Apples, Goji Berries,Hummus, Oatmeal, Edamame beans, Oranges and Strawberries.
I ate all of these things when i was vegan and i still ended up sick and deficient. I now eat an animal based whole food diet and feel way better at 50 than i did in my vegan 20s . The foods you list here do not contain anywhere near the same level of bioavailable nutrients as animal foods and will not fix the deficiency issues so common in veganism . Can you not just accept that veganism does not work for everyone because that is very clearly the case. There seems to be a very strong strwak of evangelical fundamentalism in the wider vegan community....and even when i was vegan i found this very offputting.....what other people eat and their ethical perspective is really nobody elses business right?
@@kaychown Ok, did you eat mushrooms, yeast and products containing this, seaweeds including wakame and nori plus foods that have been fortified with B12 such as nut milk, vegan cheese, vegan custard and others? Can accept that some do not respond to vegan diets but the majority of people who have stayed with this change of diet have found that they are healthier than when they were eating animals. Have not found any other vegans to be evangelically fundamental, they are just caring folks who don't want to contribute towards animal suffering and yes, it's an individual choice to be that way.
@@bodhiapurva3887 yes i did....i did my homework and are a very well planned diet....it still made me feel awful...gut problems , tired, pale , dry skin, anxious and depressed. Im aware that some people seem to do perfectly fine on a vegan diet but i know far more people for whom it hasnt worked at all. The problem if you are vegan is that you end up in a vegan echo chamber where you only get to hear about sucess stories. Ex vegans like me tend to get either blocked or gaslit ( " you didnt do it properly, " " you are lying " ) even though the research that exists on this subject suggests that veganism does have a very high drop out rate . So the movement has become very cult like, which i dont think does it any favours....cults tend to implode eventuallly . The diet i eat now is a wholefood animal based diet. I feel amazing, im 50 and feel better thani did in my 20's and my blood work is also the best its ever berm. So there is no way i would return to veganism
@@kaychown So your system is not suited to giving up animal products, fair enough. What you say about vegan being like a cult, well it is a specialised diet and those who have thrived on it are all fine, no symptoms of deficiency or other fall out. Don't think that veganism will implode at all, there are a growing number of folk who are giving the vegan way a try and will remain on this diet once they have made the change.
@@bodhiapurva3887 yes as i alrwady said i know that some people do thrive on a vegan diet. A Plant based diet can be adjusted to any health condition. When people make the ethical commitment, they find solutions. Without it they find excuses. They become excusitarian.
Or maybe it can't be adjusted for some people.
You are an absolute loser.
I'm vegan myself, but I would disagree.
Some people simply got absolutely screwed with food intolerances and allergies and while you can work around pretty much all of them individually and still have a healthy vegan diet, it can be almost impossible if you have a ton of them combined.

Albert Schweitzer said, "As soon as one loses respect for any part of life, he loses respect for all of it."
The law of karma warns us that pain and suffering return upon those who cause it, either in this life or the next.

@@tinknal6449 tell me a single thing that was hyperbolic about his comment
To vegans that need clear message on your reasons to be vegan/:
