- Hermitcraft Season 10 is here! Join us as we settle down in a new world, build cool stuff, and have a good time with the other Hermits.
In this episode we go caving, explore the new map with Gem, find our base location, get our tools enchanted, clear cut a forest and then start building our future base.

I think Etho is the UA-camr I have been subscribed to the longest! Found him thru DocM who I found thru MonkeyFarm if I remember correctly. So I wasn’t around the 1st season of his LP series and didn’t watch YT that much at that time as my free time was limited.
Did he say this in the video? It’s wild because I am a returning viewer. I watched Etho LPs religiously in my teens, and then I grew up. Now, I find peace in the nostalgia- in the thought that some things are still the same. Quire interesting. Etho is truly an icon.

I remember a while ago (maybe a decade ago?) he mentioned he and his family were florists. I always liked to think this contributed to his skill in choosing color palettes.

I love the way etho makes his builds. He seems to grow them rather than build them, and he always picks such fun colors and blocks. His season 7 base (my personal favorite) has got to be one of the coolest example of that so far.
This base reminds me of a mix between his season 7 base and the recent modded series base. I love it

yes! I love that so much about his builds, it makes it feel so cozy and fun. Hermitcraft is full of amazing builders, but it's so nice to see this more organic-feeling style amongst all the insane megabuilds. It feels almost alive

haha yeah, I had a sniffer next to it at one point and I was shocked how close the colors are to each other
@@EthosLabif the frogs are too hard to keep in the water maybe you could have a sniffer or even a turtle would go well with it. Maybe even some fish like a koi pond

imo, i think the theme of this season is community. a lot of the hermits are interacting more then they used to, and with a lot of people in nice tight knit groupings, it's bound to happen. I hope a lot of the more illusive hermits stick around a little bit longer this season, because its been fun seeing them interact with people outside of their little social group.

Okay so my jaw literally dropped when you revealed your base. It's absolutely GORGEOUS

I literally teared up a little bit, it was so pretty. And I'm not usually one to get emotional over Hermitcraft stuff.
I'm defo looking too deep into it, but I genuinely feel like his build is reflecting his eager and drive to get back into the game again after everything he's had to deal with over the past year or two. It's nice and peaceful compared to the chaotic and funky vibes from the past two bases he's made in hermitcraft (which were beautiful and van-sway in their own right lol), which genuinely feels like a fresh start for both him and the audience.. needless to say, I'm looking forward to this season 😂
IT feels like he’s using season 10 to build the stuff he was going to do in modded s2 which is exciting cause i really liked the theme of the builds theres

That build is beautiful, oh my goodness! I love that it clearly shows your growth as a builder, while also staying true to your personal style. It’s like a mix between the Modded S2 restaurant and the Hermitcraft S7 flower room, personal favorites of mine 🌸 So cozy, so lovely!

That's just intentionally making everything harder in the early game. Shields are an easy skeleton counter until you get a bow and steady amount of arrows.
Only if you can effectively use them. I die trying to use the controls to block with my shield. I'm much more effective with torches in my offhand and my trusty axe in the main hand.

Especially in the context of that diamond belonging to the shared loot pool so its not just his diamond to burn but everyone's diamond he is burning.
I'm fairly certain he did this in basically every challenge map too, much to team Canada's chagrin.
The Etho & Gem banter is really great, there's a really nice balance between your personalities. And such a great display of that famed Canadian politeness!

Etho is such a sleeper of a builder. I don't think very many people consider him a builder, but he consistently makes some of the most jaw dropping builds on the server
Don't get me wrong, it's a nice build, but compared to others on the server? Really? If I had to mention some: Bdubs, Scar, Grian, Gem, Pearl, Rendog, Keralis are all in a league of their own compared to him. I don't think I've ever seen a jaw dropping build from Etho.

@@decomposedcorpse5186There's no point in comparing them because those other builders are great at building large scale projects, while Etho is more macro scale. He puts detail into the smallest things, and is great at picking color palettes that most people wouldn't think of. Etho is an amazing builder, but in a different way than the people you mentioned. If your requirement for "a great builder" is "can build really big structures" then it doesn't take that much to be a great builder lol.
The difference is that Etho doesn't *like* building that much. He likes having a good looking base, but he only begrudgingly builds stuff because he wants it to look nice on top of his mechanical stuff like redstone and farms. He finds building to be boring, and so both doesn't do it often, and when he does he tends to skip over large portions of it in his videos.

I like how the monstrosity in S7 helped develop your building style. What started out as an "easy to spam" style quickly turned into a pretty in depth color theory experiment (or a tutorial I'd like to call it because it opened my eyes to the possibility of most minecraft blocks.) Thanks to that, we are blessed with such a gorgeously vibrant build right off the bat in S10. I'm excited to see what you can achieve in this season that isn't just limited to building. After all free glass wasn't related to building and I was all for it if you know what I mean :P

I really appreciate how this episode is more just playing the game with your friends rather than just focusing on a project or build. I hope this season keeps to that kind of small scale format, it feels a lot more like a classic series :)

Yeah, definitely seems like the vibe this season for all the Hermits so far is: let's just play together. No big pressure builds trying to top previous season builds. Just fun, playing & pranking with friends, and the creativity will flow naturally!
Pretty sure that Etho knows that he's the coolest guy on the server but neither he nor I knows why. He just is.
Etho's always seemed like a very humble, down-to-earth guy, I doubt he thinks of himself as exceptionally cool. Whenever people fangirl over him he doesn't really seem to know what to do with it, and he's always very quick to praise the talents of his fellow hermits

I think this is one of my favorite Etho videos ever (and I've watched hundreds). 30 mins of shenanigans, 10 mins of gearing up, and 10 minutes of building a SUPER impressive base. This video has it all. I thought the thumbnail was from the season 7 base with how detailed it is, but no, it was made in episode one. I am super excited for this season!
Etho and Gem worked really well together, i hope they do more stuff together this season!
They are very close this season, Tango's base can see both of their areas.
Their are about 13 hermits all in close proximity around this mountain. 7 are part of the mountain faction. Zed is a neighbor but not sure in what direction. Etho, Tango, Cub, and Pearl surround the lake south of the mountain. And Doc's village is southeast of Pearls base. (Edge of render distance from the top of her hill)
So much potential for collabs this season.

I love Etho's building style so much. His colors are so vibrant and the use of organic blocks makes the build feel really alive. And his layouts are so unique too, just really good stuff
I have been watching some of these people for a decade now. As a whole they are all just such sweet and pure people. Every interaction seems genuine and not forced. I am so happy Etho is still playing. He was my first Minecraft sub and one of the reasons I started playing.

I love the way Etho builds so much. His sense of color and contrast is wonderful and they always feel so lively, and he’s really good at adding dimension to flat surfaces like walls and floors.

Etho, I absolutely adore the colour choices you make every time for your base, and I just want to remind you that when they added the chiseled bookshelves they textured it to look like the beehive, so you can use that in the base too with more shapes but the same colours. =]

A Vault Hunter recognizes another Vault Hunter by the way they look up to dash when they are playing vanilla, there where so many moments where you see Etho look up to use the dash ability, hilarious

I really like the glowstone lamps! Its a big contrast in colors and people dont use glowstone as much anymore because of the 'prettier' light sources available, made me really happy to see a glowstone block texture being used lol
Over the years the art design of the game has shifted to make them look out of place

I think a great goal for the season would be to shake off the "Washed up" joke. Retrain in the ways of PVP and pranks. Can't wait to see what happens this season.
He shook that up pretty much in the Decked Out last season. I remember one of his later runs a lot of the Hermits already said something akin to hes not washed up anymore. I mean not that anyone ever thought seriously of Etho as washed up anyways.
All that Vault Hunters I'm sure has sharpened up his PvE at least

I rarely see anyone use dripstone lava farms, let alone in the early game. It's always interesting to see people finding new ways to play a game (which basically happens almost every video on this channel).

That's one of the most beautiful builds I've ever seen! The build palette is so unique, and at the same time it has a lot of the elements that make an Etho build an Etho build. I can't wait to see how it turns out when the rest is complete, but from what we've seen so far, this one is really special.

I really appreciate showing the build as it's coming along, the explanation for the block palette and the talk how colors complement each other. It actually gave me some ideas for what I could do with builds I've been stuck on! And it's a gorgeous build. The organics really liven up the entire place. I should do more of that
