    Another excellent video Matt!!!
    Running that vertical splitter like a pro!
    Vertical is the way to go, quality splits every time, and no slash.
    Keep the videos coming

    It is not easy to find firewood splitting video without any music. The sound of wood cracking is comforting and helps me reduce my depression. If we want to listen to the music, we'll find in music video, not in firewood splitting video. Thanks for uploading this video. I watched this video more than 10x today.

      I am seriously considering the vertical because of my bad back (5 surgeries) and it really looks like you can handle the wood easier than the horizontals I have always used.

    That VS is gotta be so satisfying to run! I love the ease of making uniform custom splits! I kinda geek out a bit on the beautiful bundle grade looking splits🤣 Love it! Well done Matt👊🏻

    1st to comment from Western North Carolina. 1st to thumbs up. I'm jealous with all the nice equipment you have. I'm new to the woodland life. I'm 64 years old with a bad back and serious asthma issues. However I'm going to give it a go. I do not have a truck I have an old van. I do not have a trailer. I do not have a tractor. I do not have a skid steer. What do I have I have motivation I have an old van and I have three chainsaws. Stihl ms171 , ms250 and ms261. Wish me luck.

    Great video! Any woodturners out there? It sure does seem like you could do bowl blanks with a vertical with the more precise splits that it looks like you can do. I want one primarily for firewood but I also see potential double-duty for making spindle and bowl blanks.

    The thing I like best about this unit is it is foot switch activated! Leaving both hands free to position the wood rounds, and the plate is nice and slick so the rounds glide over the surface when moving....minimal effort! Great machine, how much does it cost??

    • @lillysfarmandfirewood
      @lillysfarmandfirewood  11 місяців тому

      Yea it’s true doesn’t take much effort to run the machine at all. They start around 12,000 and go up you can also get a attached conveyor

    Hey Matt, I can see you are seasoned running your 17vs. By the way thanks so much for getting back to me on the pedal. Do you get much wood coming back with the return chain on your conveyor? Do you separate out bundle grade wood from firewood? I started to separate barkless bundle wood from firewood. I sometimes think that not necessary. Ugly wood I separate by itself too. We have a tough market here, hard to get 70.00 a face cord. Bundle wood is the route to go. Sorry for all the questions. Take care. Al

      Hey pricing is a little strange by me also. I have a 2 totes one for junk one for bundle wood and the rest up the conveyer. What do you mean return on the conveyor?

      @@lillysfarmandfirewood hi Matt. I’m having wood that some times catches and comes back with the paddles and gets jammed at the base of the elevator. The chain is the same chain that is used in your longer elevator. I have some paddles that got bent from the jams. Chris is sending Lee out to replace the whole conveyor today. I feel bad that they’re driving 5hours one way to do this repair. Chris is thinking they left the hydraulic motor relief valve setting the same as a longer conveyors giving the motor way more power , causing the paddles to bend. Now that’s service from Wolfe Ridge. It seems with the short conveyor if I dump into my dump trailer. You need to have the conveyor at a stepper incline and that’s when the wood seems to come back with the chain. I was watching your conveyor haul the wood with no problems. Your incline is nothing compared to my short conveyor. It’s also hard for the wood being conveyed to get picked up by the paddles. The wood kind of builds up until you push it so the paddles catch it. Thanks for chatting. Later . Al
