I’m getting the Mothra one for my birthday
apparently the hands on godzilla can rotate, ultrazilla found out they can but its a very stiff connection and he started to stress the plastic so you could probably hit them with heat and make him able to hold the orbs
I just bought my mothra last week. can't wait to see what she looks like in person.
Very neat sets! I might pick up the Mothra twins set and pass on the Hedorah one since I plan on getting the shmonsterarts one. Definitely looking forward to future mezco releases as well
I wonder if the dorsal plates are painted that color to better match the dorsal plates of the suit in Godzilla vs Hedorah, the colors of which were a bit dulled after Destroy All Monsters, Godzilla’s Revenge, and the 2 years exposure to elements while being in storage, which was between Godzilla’s Revenge and Godzilla vs Hedorah. Believe me, go back and watch some clips of the oil refinery attack, that Godzilla suit has barely any paint on those dorsal plates.
I've got both of these sets on the way from BBTS and I am super excited. It is weird that they are doing Mothra 64 without the Godzilla to go with him, but hopefully there is a specific purpose for that. I do think it would have been nice if the Godzilla had included a non-damaged head, but oh well, I've got the DAM version anyway, so it doesn't matter that much. Right now I've got the DAM set displayed with the Revoltech 56 and 61 Mothras, but damn am I excited to swap out the Mothra for the Mezco one.
Now I do have mixed feelings on the flocking of the Mothra since I remember it rubbing off on He-Man figures that used it, but we'll see. Maybe flocking technology has come a long way since then.
I hope we don't have to wait much longer for the GvsMechaGodzilla set to come out and that another set is announced sooner rather than later.
Smaller than what I would have thought. I assumed these would be a 7 inch set like the biollante first form or the destoroyah with Godzilla sets
I like the Mothra set pretty much. Main thing I don’t like is that the antennae on Mothra are too fluffy/thick. Should be slimmer. Would be nice if it was really a wire covered in flock and that would allow for extra movement. Another thing too, the abdomen are beyond the chest is a bit too slim. The body of Mothra doesn’t have an exceptionally larger head compared to the body. The flock also should have kept that ruffled look like in the promo pictures when first announced. I liked that they did improve the look of the eyes though. Look more movie like. One thing I did notice is that in the promo pictures, it appeared you could swap the wings around to the opposite side to get differences in flight appearance. There are a couple of pictures where the bends at the tips are actually reversed for those pictures. Hinting you could swap them around. Overall I like the set, but I am so hoping for an improved Showa Mothra.

I was very skeptical about the Mothra set, but I really wanted a Showa version and Bandi just wont do it, so I placed a pre-order. I really have not liked the DAM sets and while I do still think Mothra's set is a bit much, I was surprised. I love how clean the flock is and they did a good job on the wings. This is one case where the final product looks better than the render. I do wish the wings were separate molds (front and hind wing), but I do like how thin they are (light shines through it), yet feel nice and sturdy with nice, tight hinges. The design and color's could have been more accurate, but I'm okay with it.
Also I could be wrong but I feel she is a bit bigger in scale than the rest of the sets. At 9" She actually fits in pretty good with any SHMA figures you might have, especially the '64 Godzilla. The twins are okay, But I feel Mezco got lazy. They seemed to have sculpted only one side of each head and just mirrored the other half in Modo or similar program. The box is.....okay, as it would have been nice for some kind of flock or padding inside instead of a sticker wrap all around the box. I do wish they would have included another larva, so we could have two in the line.
Is it a good figure: Yes! Is it worth $60-70: eh..no, not really. Still until SHMA decides to give us some Showa, this is gonna do just fine.

Considering MonsterArts charges like $100+ these days and still can't get their quality control right on a single figure, Mezo's stuff is the superior alternative.
