Kind of a rough start for Mezco, but I like them. Price should've been lower, no question about it. I hope the Mothra set will be an improvement.
Now we just need non Godzilla Kaiju like
Kumonga, Kamacuras, Varan, Manda, Gezora, Ganimes, Kamoebas, Sanda and Gaira since they were supposed to be in destroy all monsters anyway. Plus it'll look insanity awesome
Even if its not part of the destroy all monsters series. I they would be great to have and without having to sell my kidneys to a guy on eBay for a crummy looking figure.

Your first one minute sums up my feeling for these sets. "Are they worth it............no." I'm still excited for the Mothra set when it releases by 2052, but these sets should have been $50 max.
compared to SH Monsterarts they're a steal
I got this set because i've been hunting for a decent anguirus that's less than $100. He's my favorite so i was really excited when a store finally had him. I was extremely excited when i first opened it. The bummer part is with his closed mouth head. The spikes were not warped but the piece that goes into his head was molded too big, so it looks like he is wearing a hat. Called mezco, no answer. Real bummer for me.

Yeah I'll definitely pass, they could've done way better work with the paint job and scaling. If they were 6inch I'd definitely reconsider
Same here, if they would have at least been 6", I would have no problem with the price or articulation. I just want some Showa monsters to go with my SHMA Godzillas.
@@JH-uh9zc Absolutely, scaling is very important to me especially for stop motion projects. Still waiting for a good articulated Varan, one of my favorites
@@Ergeniz I'm not familiar with those. I'm looking for figures that scale more with neca, sh and 5 to 6inch. Those new figures from super7 look very good too. I'll definitely get some of those
@@ShinGoji1987Official Super7 are either gonna be oversized with the articulated line, or undersized with the Ultimates line.

Holy shit they murdered them with the paint job. I had to cancel because there was other line of figures I wanted. I'm happy I did.
@@Ergeniz Nanmu dinosaurs. Found a sale on ebay. About 50 lower than the price of the two sets plus mothra's and hedorah set. Im quite happy with this. Got a t rex, spino, giganotoisaurus and indominous rex.
I can tell you that my paint apps were nothing like his. I only have a bad tooth on Anguirus' closed mouth and a couple of paint dots above Bargon's eye lid for his crawling head.
I personally wanted to get both round one and two, so I could give them to my figuarts/figmas and pretend they're miniature x-plus figures for them. But I'm not pleased with the price point Mezco is asking, I'm personally only willing to get them if they're under $50, anything above is no for me.

If they were 6 inch I could see it. Bandai sells theirs for 20ish and this pack sells for about 80. So each would be 20 but sense there so small it just doesn't see worth it. I'm still going to get it just because all together I think they look nice but yeah...

Showa era?

I picked up both of these sets at a local con two weeks ago and I love them. I personally think they put the MonsterArts to shame. I'm not sure what happened with your set in the realm of paint apps, but mine were 99% fine. Nevertheless, nobody has any derpy eyes like every MonsterArt before I quit the line seemed to have (Godzilla 2002 was my quitting point). It's nice to see someone actually give the Showa era some love and give us a nice big cast in one go. They also put the Playmates vinyls to shame. Just comparing Gorosaurus between the two lines shows how terrible Playmates' stuff truly is. While I typically prefer 6inch figures that are fully posseable, I'm all in for these Mezco ones as long as they stick to the Showa era, at least until someone fully commits to 6inch Showa figures and does everyone, not just Godzilla.
I'd love to see the following sets happen:
Godzilla 1954 with a bunch of buildings and tanks
King Kong vs Godzilla with Kong 62, Godzilla, MakaniKong, and the octopus thing
Mothra vs Godzilla with Godzilla 64, adult Mothra, Larva Mothra (different from the DAM one), and an egg
Destroy All Monsters Round 3 with Kumonga, Varan, Manda, and either some sort of display base that would be like Monster Island or the "Fire Dragon."
Godzilla vs Megalon with Godzilla 73, Jet Jaguar, Gigan, and Megalon
Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla with Godzilla 75, Titanosaurus, King Caesar, and a MechaGodzilla that has interchangeable arms for the MG logo
Toho Classics with Rodan 56, Frankenstein, Sanda, and Gaira.
I'm holding out (until I die, I'm sure) for a King Kong Escapes set that includes Kong, a repaint of Gorosaurus, and Mechani-Kong. Be cool to get an Atragon set with the sub and Manda, but that might be an even deeper cut than King Kong Escapes. If they've lead off with Destroy All Monsters and Godzilla vs. Hedorah, then I can imagine a Godzilla vs. Megalon can't be too far behind.
