Here in fucking Greece this set costs a 100 too but I won't to buy it because I think it Is worth in comparison to sh monsterarts hedorah if u do t have a hedorah figure
The box art wasn't made by Mezco for this set, its pre-existing artwork, originally used as the cover for IDW's Godzilla #11.
Well then, that's doubly terrible. First for not being knowledgable enough to realize what I said, then to take said artwork that's wrong, and let's top it off with not creating new artwork to begin with.
How do you know Toho didn't mandate them to use that artwork though?
@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork Because they wouldn’t mandate the usage of a random comic cover, especially one that doesn’t reflect the film. Did they mandate that for the SHMA figure? Nope. The upcoming Hedorah Reaction figure? Also, nope.

NECA said in previous interviews that they had a really hard time getting Toho to allow them to use movie specific artwork for their boxes. That's why their artwork always matched the garbage artwork thta Bandai Creation and then Playmates initially used.
@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork NECA said a lot of things, lol, however there are sometimes STYLE GUIDE mandates to keep cohesion like say the GvK branding across all lines including ahem SHMA--they aren't immune to this stuff. That is something very different however. Having worked for a major corporate creative entity before, I can tell you there would not be product specific mandates. Most especially ones steering the product in the wrong direction.
I've been loving these Mezco Godzilla sets, this is a must buy for sure.

I disagree about the box art ...I think it's cool...I totally agree about the eye...they should of did godzilla same as hedora and put an extra piece.
Dude is complaining about the box art like a beta. Bob Eggleton is one of the most renowned Godzilla artists.

I have this set coming I just ordered it from BBTS like two nights ago waiting for them to send it. I really like what you have showed here and now can't wait to get in hand myself. I just wish they would have given two Godzilla heads one with the eye damage and one without and maybe one of them with an open mouth for an atomic breath beam..
As for the orbs I have always thought they were Hedorah eggs, because why else would Godzilla pull them out when he beat Hedorah and smash them, he didn't want anymore growing and coming back.
In my head canon, they're eggs for exactly what you said.

You think it's great??? It's great that Hedorah is far too small? It was much larger than Godzilla in the movie. This fact spoils the whole set.
Meh, he's chunky, it feels fine in those terms. Spoiling the set for that is overboard when it looks good.

@@stevenanderson3936 Eh, again, the set looks good, they look good together. To me Hedorah looks great with everything else they've put out, dare I say it looks the best. An inch is a crazy thing to stop you on. I didn't give it a thought tbh it's that negligible in hand due to Hedorah's mass.
Hedorah's size fluctuates through out the movie, while it's true he's taller than Godzilla during some fights. In the final bout after they pick themselves off the ground Hedorah is actually shorter. I used to think he was slumped over or maybe his feet were dragging, but he's actually standing. All that aside, this is a very good looking set.

Mezco has a history of sketchy stuff and stealing designs so the fact that they lifted comic art is not a surprise to me. Look at their Wexter figure from Axe Cop. When their stuff is good it’s very good, and when it’s bad it’s worse
