As a figure it’s ok, the problem is the price your paying. If you payed 20-30 bucks it would be great , but 85 bucks?! No
I live in the UK, so I’ve had this on preorder for a while. And when I saw the reviews come in, I decided I was just going to sell it. Then it arrived, and I just wanted to have a look at it…I opened it up, and really ended up liking it. Maybe I had set my expectations so low, or maybe it’s because I paid so long ago I wasn’t thinking about the price anymore. But in hand….I kind of like it. It’s no Monsterarts, but it feels like a detailed more posable vintage vinyl figure…and I think that’s what I’ve always been searching for in a Godzilla figure
Man I just really wanted a hesei figure the only one I have is the neca st Patrick day exclusive and it sucks lol.

Fun fact, When super7 showed off the prototypes in a preview vid, the Biollante damaged vine heads had moveable mouths. Idk why they changed it and didnt say anything but yeah.

Man, these are great like $30-$40 figures… What do you mean these are $85 figures?
There price on bigbadtoystore, last I checked it was 85.99
My main problem is the lack of waist and tail articulation. If super7 adds a balljoint at the waist and make the tail move more fluid instead a stiff stick then this toy line will succeed.

That and the fact you need a second head for an open mouth. Like making a mouth articulation shouldn't be a problem hopefully.
I got the SDCC dark horse version instead better paint apps and a unique version of Godzilla
Just not sold on it. I'll get the ones that monsterarts will never make and that's it
I had the rose form on pre order along with both Destoroyah and the meltdown Godzilla. But Sadly after seeing how they turned out, i cancelled my preorders. I was going to keep the rose form pre order but decided to just not chance it. I will probably just wait for Bandai to release their Rose form so i can have one in my collection.

The paint application just bothers me too much. For those that say the line is intended to have a retro toy feel, that's more like a post rationalization - the preview pics did not look like this. For those that are worried about scale, the figures are off too. In both forms Biollante is taller than Heisei Godzilla so the S.H. Monsterarts and Neca look more appropriate.
I think it's kinda bullshit that Super7 cancelled the White Tigerzord. The whole reason I was collecting MMPR Ultimates was for Zords and Monsters, but especially Zords. It really discourages me from wanting to get more.

It's almost certainly just because of the novelty of Rose Biollante that I'm not as annoyed with her figure, but that's translated to me despising this figure because I feel like I was so ripped off by ordering these two. I will keep my pre-order for melt down, but I canceled everything else. I will wait for either SHMA to reissue Space Godzilla, Destroyah, and Mogera like they just did with Mecha or I will wait for Hiya to do them.
Also happy to see the skits back in full force!
I'm sorry I got them, I think they could have been alot better, I also think we are paying for the fancy box, hiya is alot better.

I got him and I still love it I skipped the flower child next set I'll get the two and so on I can't wait for the space Godzilla the one I want next year a way and burning Godzilla and destorya wow I want it's fun but still want

When super 7 announced they were doing a line of Godzilla figures I thought trendmasters godzilla figures with updated sculpts and articulation needless to say I was disappointed, biollante looks good and matter of personal opinion is the best of the two where as godzilla looks like if playmates tried to do a collector based godzilla toyline.
Both figures aren't worth 85 to 95 bucks, but Rose Biollante isn't over saturated like heisei Godzilla figures. For that reason alone I'm more forgiving of the Biollante, neither are great, the boxes are nice though.
At least We got Bio rose action figure now

Yeah the dream was to have a Trendmaster Godzilla with the articulation of NECA and shma without killing my pocket. Damn they cancelled the white tigerzord that just booty!?!?!?!? The bloody Godzilla looks better than this one so far ,but I have to wait and see when it comes in the mail. It ain't dead until it coughs up blood!!!! I'm still on the fence about the Space Godzilla and Moguera

I don’t see how in any way that Hiyas stuff is the “low ground”. They’re overall heads and bounds better than anything from Neca when they did Godzilla and they offer figures that more accurately represent what the kaiju look like in the films compared to everyone else. I haven’t had any breaks from Hiya, unlike Neca and Bandai, I haven’t had major paint issues, unlike Neca and Bandai. I don’t see how Hiya isn’t objectively “the middle ground” when you compare and go through everything, nor do I see how anyone can’t fall in love with them.

The whole idea behind Super7 is they make figures that look antiquated. So these figures are meant to have an old toy aesthetic. Also the tail doesn’t have a gap, you just have to push it in further.
You are right about the reason for the price though, it is entirely down to them being Toho suits. If these were Monsterverse figures, they’d be in the $55 range

@skinnyman That sounds more like a cheap excuse to justify the mediocre job super7 does on their overpriced figures with limited/outdated articulation and cheap QC. In the case of these ToHo Ultimates they simply set the bar too high, they promised a lot and the final product is well a let dawn. Even the old Neca figures look better than those Ultimates. Super7 should stick with stuff like Thundercats or TMNT.
@@alexherrera9305 I have both, and 99% of reviews are showing them under harsh lighting. Under normal lighting, they aren’t glossy. Additionally, my copies were covered in mould release and have a fair amount of joint lube on them which is adding to the glossy effect. I agree they should be cheaper, they are very much $55 figures but because they’re Toho designs, they have to pay more for the license. That’s why Monsterverse figures are always cheaper. NECA’s figures are worse than these, despite the chunky joints on Super7’s figures they have a much better range of motion than NECA and they’re much closer to the source material. NECA’s 89 looks pretty bad in comparison

Yes your right people will get him that dont know any better but love Godzilla with a different look but toho name is what your paying for and cheaper then s.h.ma and it's running against hyia so it's a race I don't care I want super 7 and hyia anything but shma since I don't trust them to many broken lose figures from them and way to much so I'm happy

Hiya trounces all over Monsterarts
It’s an odd take that’s for sure. But Hiya trounces over all of Mosnterarts is pretty extreme. I agree that if you want a figure that better represents what you see on screen with great paint and lesser but still good articulation, Hiyas Monsterverse stuff takes the cake. Godzilla looks better, Rodan looks better, Mothra looks better, King Ghidorah looks better, and they’re doing stuff that Bandai refuses to do, and based on prototypes, looks fantastic.
Curious on the actual criticisms because I doubt they’re going to very convincible and bring some credible evidence to back it.

@@GojiraFan-in9oo We can't say that unless they tackle other Godzilla lines. They've only done Monsterverse and they're...comparable atm.
