Hi-Jay Mg hello there. We don’t recommend the acid to be applied on the lips themselves. This is for the surrounding area. *I have seen people do this though on UA-cam. Hello. We always want you to be using either a retinol or an acid serum/cleanser... something to even out the skin's layers before a chemical peel. The retinol - I would think - is mandatory for those in any climate. I would also make sure to have those ladies using a hyaluronic every day and spritzing with water as the day goes by to KEEP their skin hydrated, When you have the Nano Hyaluronic on your skin the water will plump up everything and rehydrate again. Lock that in with an oil like emu oil or another.
I've done 3 of these lip peels (1 layer of 20%, 2 layers of 20% and 3 layers of 20%). The wrinkles appear less noticeable at first but always return after a few weeks as if they have cellular memory. About to give up.
You have to realize first that it takes months... for the collagen/elastin to generate in your skin ... let alone work its way to the surface and show a noticeable improvement. Your first peel will only become slightly visible after about 3 months. Don't lose hope - keep moving forward and you will start to see permanent changes very soon.

I recommend healing and soothing products until the skin has peeled. Vitamin C Serum in the morning and Tretinoin at night is perfectly fine to use after the skin has finished peeling.
Blinks46 it will take a few peels and a few months! Collagen takes months to reach the surface of our skin and become visible. You will do about 2-3 monthly peels and see some changes. Many of our customers see change after one peel - but, of course that isn’t enough. As with all peels, you will follow a series to get best results. No topical can touch what a Tca peel can do.

Annie Peeples absolutely you can. What is really easiest though is to do one or two layers on your whole face and then do a couple more spot treatments on your problem areas. You can just use a Qtip if you wish to make it easier. Another option of course is to do the 13 on your face and then use the 20 on your problem areas. Feel free to mix and match as needed to get the results you want.
No baking soda needed. TCA will self neutralize on its own, however, we want you to splash your face with cold water for several minutes to rinse the solution and for comfort reasons.

If you are doing a 3-4 layer jessners peel & a tca 20 (1 layer) do you need to do a separate lip peel? This wasn't mentioned so I'm curious. Also, I only have emu not Syn TC or Luminosity. Are you stating LIP peel .. as in ON the actual lips? Or the nasal and outer lip LINES? ON the lips we want you to be much more gentle. Like Lactic 50. One more question. Why is the lip peel concentration 20%? I thought that with TCA we start lower? I need to call but i am moving this weekend. My New Year's Resolution is to start your peels. Theresa Mitchell we are recommending the 20% so that people who are targeting deep lines can get some quicker results. It requires a deeper peel to get those strong lines - and even then it will take months to stimulate new collagen growth in the tissues. You will see a smoothness more quickly though. This is just a targeted treatment, if you are a beginner, and want to peel your entire face, then yes apply 13% at 1-2 layers everywhere else.
zanna Adedigba that really depends on your sensitivity. Most people will need to give it a few days off before a peel. If you have been using it for years though, and it doesn’t effect you, then you may be just fine to use up until application.
TCA 20 is a strong acid. It should not cause swelling - but, it could in someone! That is always a possibility. The area above the lip is pretty sturdy - and generally it needs a stronger acid to get quicker results. **If you wish, you could just do a 13% TCA face peel and add on 1 or 2 extra layers to the nasal labial folds and upper lip lines. That will work wonderfully as well.

That is definitely something that happens to many people. Mostly to those with skin that is a bit darker. It is just the dead skin sitting there getting ready to flake off. You can apply the Luminosity (.50% retinol) every day to help it flake more quickly. You can also use an enzyme mask to aid in removing the skin more quickly once it starts flaking.

You certainly could! Our Prep B does contain an ingredient that gives a slight numbing sensation but prilocaine and lidocaine creams do help if you are applying multiple layers.

Tara Berg you can definitely apply the acid to your mole. High percentages of acids have been used to remove them. Generally, just s Qtip dipped in 30% Tca can be applied directly to moles, skin tags and the like. No worries at all. Not a problem at all. I am glad that I can help. ***If you are trying to remove the mole, I suggest applying the TCA 30% (get 5ml bottle) with a Q-tip. Wait 5 minutes and then dab on another application so you get it good. Wait 5 minutes and rinse well. Just apply healing oils like the emu oil for a few days and then start up with the SuperCop 2x daily to help replace that tissue. ... You will most likely need to do another peel on that in about a month, .... but see how it goes first before deciding to do more.

Bree Pearson if your lips are naturally lighter and have just darkened over the years - then yes, absolutely you can. I suggest a milder acid than the 20% though. Try the Tca 13 and staring using a Retinol or acid serum in the evenings and definitely an spf on your face/lips every day.

WE don't generally recommend that - though we have seen it done on youtube. If you have a spot of pigmentation on your lips - you can definitely use a Qtip and dab a bit on there. Going all over the lips though - that is going to lead to extreme dryness and possibly cracking.

Hello. If your skin is naturally a Fitzpatrick 4 or darker (olive or darker) then you need to be very careful what you apply. You MUST pretreat the skin for 4 weeks with a melanin inhibitor - like our Fade Bright. Then, doing a body peel in an intimate area - use a milder acid. Mandelic 40 or Lactic 50 are good choices. Jessners is also very good for hyperpigmentation. NOW .. keep in mind that the BODY takes about 30 days for the skin to turn over and shed! It is NOT instant. Hello. If peels are brand new to you I definitely suggest starting with the 13%. Apply that to your entire face and do a few peels to understand how it works. This 20% is a targeted peel that you "could" do... but I really feel that's a bit aggressive for a newbie. If you want to start with something even milder then look at a glycolic 30% peel. That is a very mild one that can be done on a weekly basis.

Not generally, no. The lips are very thin and I don't want people to be aggressive with this. Do your daily treatments (melanin inhibitor such as our Fade Bright or a hydroquinone product and SPF 50), then do something like the Lactic 50 peel 2x a month. With both you will see improvements.
@@cheyaneandre To heal the chapped skin I would recommend something like Emu oil. It heals quickly and hydrates well. Avoid any licking and watch for extreme temperatures. Protect before heading out. It can certainly cause extreme flaking and possible cracking - I would try something lighter on the actual lips. To help address pigmentation we suggest a daily melanin inhibitor such as our Fade Bright or a hydroquinone 2x per day. Also SPF 50 no matter what. Never leave home without it. Peels such as Lactic and jessners are excellent for dark areas.

The pink lips themselves, or around the lips? This 20% TCA is meant to be used around the mouth area but not on the lips themselves. I am afraid that the 20% would cause extreme chapping and possibly cracking. I would suggest a lower percentage if that is what you are looking to do. Opt for the 13%.

A chemical peel is a very low pH of an acid that you apply to your skin to get it to peel off. It dissolves the bonds that hold the dead skin to your face. When this skin comes off your coloring will be more even and other issues can be minimized.
Can i use this around my lips and spread it onto my whole chin? I have acne scars and discoloration around my entire mouth area. I get hormonal acne in that area.

Hello. Are you referring to the entire (pink) lip itself, or the surrounding area? We do not generally recommend acid peels applied directly to the full lip. This could cause severe cracking. If you are intent on doing this, I would try a milder acid like the 50% Lactic and do a weekly peel.

Getting dark after a peel would be PIH *post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. That can be avoided by properly preparing the skin with melanin inhibitors and applying SPF 50 daily.

I recommend healing and soothing products until the skin has peeled. Vitamin C Serum in the morning and Tretinoin at night is perfectly fine to use after the skin has finished peeling.

Blinks46 it will take a few peels and a few months! Collagen takes months to reach the surface of our skin and become visible. You will do about 2-3 monthly peels and see some changes. That is just fine. Spf 50 every day. Reapply or wear a hat if you are going to be sitting in the sun for protection.

Annie Peeples absolutely you can. What is really easiest though is to do one or two layers on your whole face and then do a couple more spot treatments on your problem areas. You can just use a Qtip if you wish to make it easier. Another option of course is to do the 13 on your face and then use the 20 on your problem areas. Feel free to mix and match as needed to get the results you want.

No baking soda needed. TCA will self neutralize on its own, however, we want you to splash your face with cold water for several minutes to rinse the solution and for comfort reasons.

Theresa Mitchell we are recommending the 20% so that people who are targeting deep lines can get some quicker results. It requires a deeper peel to get those strong lines - and even then it will take months to stimulate new collagen growth in the tissues. You will see a smoothness more quickly though. This is just a targeted treatment, if you are a beginner, and want to peel your entire face, then yes apply 13% at 1-2 layers everywhere else.

zanna Adedigba that really depends on your sensitivity. Most people will need to give it a few days off before a peel. If you have been using it for years though, and it doesn’t effect you, then you may be just fine to use up until application.

TCA 20 is a strong acid. It should not cause swelling - but, it could in someone! That is always a possibility. The area above the lip is pretty sturdy - and generally it needs a stronger acid to get quicker results. **If you wish, you could just do a 13% TCA face peel and add on 1 or 2 extra layers to the nasal labial folds and upper lip lines. That will work wonderfully as well.

That is definitely something that happens to many people. Mostly to those with skin that is a bit darker. It is just the dead skin sitting there getting ready to flake off. You can apply the Luminosity (.50% retinol) every day to help it flake more quickly. You can also use an enzyme mask to aid in removing the skin more quickly once it starts flaking.

1. We aren't peeling the actual Lips. This is for the Upper lip lines, nasal folds ...
2. It isn't a temporary solution. TCA helps to stimulate collagen, elastin, glycosaminoglycans in the skin and these can help your skin to look tighter and fuller over time. *Remember that it will take at least 90 days before your treated skin starts to show the positive changes. It is not an "instant" solution in any way.

Tara Berg you can definitely apply the acid to your mole. High percentages of acids have been used to remove them. Generally, just s Qtip dipped in 30% Tca can be applied directly to moles, skin tags and the like. No worries at all.

Wait 5 minutes and then dab on another application so you get it good. Wait 5 minutes and rinse well. Just apply healing oils like the emu oil for a few days and then start up with the SuperCop 2x daily to help replace that tissue. ... You will most likely need to do another peel on that in about a month, .... but see how it goes first before deciding to do more.

For sure a month. Don't ever purposefully go into the sun to "tan" the skin. SPF 50 and a wide brim hat to protect the skin.

WE don't generally recommend that - though we have seen it done on youtube. If you have a spot of pigmentation on your lips - you can definitely use a Qtip and dab a bit on there. Going all over the lips though - that is going to lead to extreme dryness and possibly cracking.

Hello. If your skin is naturally a Fitzpatrick 4 or darker (olive or darker) then you need to be very careful what you apply. You MUST pretreat the skin for 4 weeks with a melanin inhibitor - like our Fade Bright. Then, doing a body peel in an intimate area - use a milder acid. Mandelic 40 or Lactic 50 are good choices. Jessners is also very good for hyperpigmentation. NOW .. keep in mind that the BODY takes about 30 days for the skin to turn over and shed! It is NOT instant. 20% TCA is not a starter strength in any way. :) I just want to state that firstly. This is a targeted treatment for nasal labial folds/puppet lines and upper lip lines. It can be done as a standalone peel 1x per month. This kit comes with 2 bottles of peel solution, Luminosity and SynTC. As an alternative, you can do the entire face (and just apply an extra layer to your problem spots) with the TCA 7 or 13%.

Hello. If peels are brand new to you I definitely suggest starting with the 13%. Apply that to your entire face and do a few peels to understand how it works. This 20% is a targeted peel that you "could" do... but I really feel that's a bit aggressive for a newbie. If you want to start with something even milder then look at a glycolic 30% peel. That is a very mild one that can be done on a weekly basis.

Not generally, no. The lips are very thin and I don't want people to be aggressive with this. Do your daily treatments (melanin inhibitor such as our Fade Bright or a hydroquinone product and SPF 50), then do something like the Lactic 50 peel 2x a month. With both you will see improvements.
Can i use this for chapping around the mouth area
I would not apply an acid peel to already chapped skin. Allow the chapped skin to flake and heal completely before you apply a powerful acid.

@@cheyaneandre To heal the chapped skin I would recommend something like Emu oil. It heals quickly and hydrates well. Avoid any licking and watch for extreme temperatures. Protect before heading out. Watch for something causing dermatitis. This could be more than chapping if it persists for a long time.

ha- jhay they are different modalities. We don’t do laser here, so I can’t comment on that. What I can tell you is that Tca definitely has been proven to stimulate collagen and elastin in the skin and this is very helpful for tightening the skin.

It can certainly cause extreme flaking and possible cracking - I would try something lighter on the actual lips. To help address pigmentation we suggest a daily melanin inhibitor such as our Fade Bright or a hydroquinone 2x per day. Also SPF 50 no matter what. Never leave home without it. Peels such as Lactic and jessners are excellent for dark areas.

@@klapzzo9024 Ah yes, that will definitely happen. It is very important to use a high SPF when you are doing peels. Start using a melanin inhibitor daily and SPF 50 always before heading out. If you don't it will continue to darken. *Keep this up always.

The pink lips themselves, or around the lips? This 20% TCA is meant to be used around the mouth area but not on the lips themselves. I am afraid that the 20% would cause extreme chapping and possibly cracking. I would suggest a lower percentage if that is what you are looking to do. Opt for the 13%.

A chemical peel is a very low pH of an acid that you apply to your skin to get it to peel off. It dissolves the bonds that hold the dead skin to your face. When this skin comes off your coloring will be more even and other issues can be minimized.

Hello. Are you referring to the entire (pink) lip itself, or the surrounding area? We do not generally recommend acid peels applied directly to the full lip. This could cause severe cracking. If you are intent on doing this, I would try a milder acid like the 50% Lactic and do a weekly peel.
Is it true that after applying tca or any other chemical peel on your lips, your lips will become light only for a few days and then it will become more dark ?
Getting dark after a peel would be PIH *post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. That can be avoided by properly preparing the skin with melanin inhibitors and applying SPF 50 daily.
