  • When a bad paint job leaves you looking glum 😂 I have EXACTLY the same expression in both of these shots but I look like I’m about to commit murder in one . Ive had a lot of questions recently asking how to wear lipstick without either emphasising a downturned mouth or, inadvertently, creating a ‘sad’ mouth. If every time you wear a strong lip some random stranger infuriatingly tells you to ‘cheer up love’ ... you might like this one

      Tell them that they're being rude. Most of them get embarrassed and will leave you alone.😂 I used to work at a restaurant and was told plenty of times that I had to smile by guests. I wasn't upset or sad, just concentrating on not spilling drinks... Them demanding me to smile made me upset. 🥴

    I'm 24 and always wondered why red and dark lipsticks made me look decades older. You made me realize I've accidentally been making my lips downturned with lip pencil my whole life! I tried it this way and it works perfectly, I can literally wear any shade now, don't have to stick to boring light nudes anymore (which are nice, but it gets stale after a while). I can't believe I'm discovering this just now!! Thank you so much!!!

      @@LisaEldridge just wanted you to know how much I look up to you, I'm a widowed mom with two young boys and honestly, I have been struggling, I haven't been able to work since January, I work with horses that would have been sent to slaughter for not placing in the races and with school being cancelled because of the virus, I can't work with horses, and have my boys. I haven't been doing my makeup for quite a while, I tend to kind of give up on myself when I'm struggling. I used to avoid wearing a lipstick for this very reason for several years. Every time I went to a shop to finally buy a nice shade of lipstick I ended up in frustration because no matter what shade I tried it would turn me into an angry 50 year old woman (although that time I was in my late teens). And only a year ago after experimenting with shape I finally figured out that it's shape that truly matters not colour. So I can definitely admit that this tip is super helpful 🔥

This was very validating and finally explained what it is that makes me need this different technique.

      Hi…I know it’s been 2years since you posted this comment on Lisa Eldridge’s UA-cam channel. You were watching her video about lips, but you commented that you were struggling with terrible skin. I’m wondering how your skin is doing now. If you’re still having problems, I’d like to see if I can help in anyway. I’m 77 and have been interested in skin care all my adult life. Perhaps I can guide you to products or a specialist who can help you. I do not sell anything. I’m not here to make any money. I just like to help if you need it. But what I really hope issues are over and your skin is glowing now. Let me know OK I’m just a grandma in San Antonio who is obsessed with skin care!

    I have known and admired your work for years and years... I used to just watch your videos because I loved makeup, and I loved the way you explained it for people that knew so little as I did at the time. What I didn't know was that, one day, I was going to want to become a makeup artist myself. I'm getting there, and I recently remembered your lessons, your channel, and how you make seem easy the things that are not, how elegant your art and, how not hard to follow your explanations are, and how humble I think you are. What I came here to say (tho I said a lot haha) was just THANK YOU. I wish, and I hope, I can be able to achieve to do makeup at least slightly as well as you do it, one day. You are so, so loved.

    • @Rena0Dawn
      @Rena0Dawn 2 роки тому +21

      I know this is really late but I’m sick too and these are the tips that help me. I put a salmon color corrector under my concealer on my dark circles. And I put highlighter in the inner crease of my eye and my upper brow bone. I angle my blush up higher on my cheekbones instead of the apples of my cheek. This always makes me a little less dead, hope it helps!

      So many of today’s foundations are yellow-based, so sickening, they make the majority of us with “cool” skin tones look sallow. So hard to find pink-or blue-undertones in foundations, CC cream, BB creams.

    • @DanielleNicoleMakeup
      @DanielleNicoleMakeup 2 роки тому +1

      @@lynnebattaglia-triggs1042 oh you speak to me girl. Totally agree. I find Tarte makes the best true cool undertones. Not yellow or warm at all. The new Shape Tape Cloud Foundation that I reviewed has quickly become one of my favs. And their Hydroflex Serum. KVD Good Apple I find has great cools as well. Unfortunately even the new Kosas Revealer that I love runs yellow and claims they are "cool." I add the LA Girl mixers or a touch of their cool pink concealer if I have to make it cooler. Anyhoo, I totally feel you!
