Depends On dual screen n on use also. Like while on utube videos at 1080p i had approx 3% loss for 30mins. But i am using in wifi. While working on powerdirector with 4K video of 9GB in widescreen mode (using powerdirector on both screen) size it drained 30% in 2hrs. I bought the Note 10 Plus 5G last month. Normally, I love Samsung Note's but I do not like the curve screen, no notification light, both buttons on left side of phone! Reeeeeally should've purchased this phone. It was my second choice.
that will basically going to increased the thickness by a lot. I received my LG in November and did not get the Dual screen until December 2oth and have been on it since then. I am earning all of the great features it has to offer and I am blown away. I simply love the camera feature when you can take a pic and the person can see it as well. The widescreen is just great because I like seeing things big. I just love it.
With a really good car mount this will be awesome. Navigation on one, Spotify on the other etc. it would out perform most car infotainment systems, I mean you can angle the screen, you have the best wireless and wired auido and codecs, two oled screens, sd card, car cameras front and rear for car vlogging, headphone jack for aux in, or usbc out, wireless charging.
Hi, You're a very honest reviewer ....appreciate the effort you put for this review......thanks a lot for being truth full......iam buying this phone tomorrow 👌👌👌👌👌
At $1000, no competition. I did like having secure face id and fingerprint scanner on the same phone, and the back finger print scanner was the best and faster than the on screen one, and does not require you to look. The G8 was also the first with crystal speaker, which was great in noisy environments on phone calls. The G8 at 3120X1440 and 6.1" was also the highest ppi in the industry aside from the Sony Xperia 4K 1. I love they still have the quad dac amp and headphone jack and sd card. Their biggest weakness is software updates, and heavy skin.
This phone is simply excellent! Seriously. Even after a week of watching reviews on this I’m still impressed. I will be getting this phone. I hope this will now put LG higher up in the smartphone market as they are totally under rated. They are an exceptional company.
I had to stop the video for a moment to holler in triumph at 6:47. The lack of tablet mode was a deal breaker for me with the V50. But now, LG just brought over a convert from Samsung...
@@XeroBuster No problem. That would be my main use case for tablet mode on a mobile device anyway. Plus the supporting and supported software is only going to mature in development over time.
And again, when the content is that good, you don't even notice the duration 👌🏽! LG listens and I'm glad a Reviewer acknowledges that. I just hope they'll give more attention to their software updates cuz this redesign UI looks promising. Overall, that's something innovative to attract a big deal for them. Let's wait for the final product.
I bought the LG V20 after your recommendation and then I bought the V30 (current daily driver) and loved both phones. Each LG phone seems to be getting better and really appreciate LG's innovation (moving buttons to back, wide angle camera, Quad DAC), going against the grain (keeping the headphone jack), and LISTENING TO CUSTOMERS. I have to continue to support LG for these reasons... Plus, they make really good phones, OLED TVs and washing machines/fridges.. LG isn't perfect, but they've been steadily improving again and respect them for taking chances (modular LG G5). Well done LG and excellent vid!
I hope they don't abandon it like they do to previous flagship. My LG V30+ doesn't receive Pie and I don't know when my phone will get android Pie. It's almost Christmas.
As an overall phone the G8X is definitely better than the V50. The front, rear and wide angle cameras have all been improved and there should be a noticeable difference in quality. Better stereo speakers. Cleaner and updated UI. I was going to buy the V50 but will hold back for the G8X now.
I was kind of confused whether I should buy this or not. Read and watched lots of reviews but this review right here is the reason I have ordered it on amazon. Thanks for a clear and unbiased review.

I'm stuck between buying the Moto one action and Vivo z1 pro. Both of them have great performance for the price, but Vivo beats Moto in every other way, except that it has a micro USB port and a heavily skinned os. The micro usb dosent bother me as much because it still charges much faster than the one action. Funtouch OS though, I passionately hate it. Can someone give me some insight as to which phone is better? (I mean, z1 pro is obviously "better", it's hole punch is like 1/3rd the size of one action's hole punch, much bigger battery, much faster charging, I'm talking about the software and the disadvantages of micro usb).
Hello I really enjoyed your video and I have a quick question I have the LG V50 that I just recently got from Verizon Wireless and I was so sad to learn that the dual-screen was only available in Europe but watching your video I see now there's another dual screen for the LG G8 X that uses the C-USB port to connect instead of the three pins on the bottom back so if I am not mistaking both phones are about the same size so is it possible for me to connect my LG V50 to the dual screen on the LG G8X using the C-USB port because both phones are the same size and same brand and both phones use dual screens so is it possible to switch the deuce screams so that I may be able to use a dual screen on my LG V50 from Verizon Wireless here in the United States so if you or anyone else can please help me with this question I would really appreciate it very much and thank you so much again sincerely Blair Fox Love!*
That would affect the durability of the device in a negative way, reduce where you can touch on the screen and significantly increase the cost of the device. It doesn't even look good for something that tends to be a headache to use (the screen protectors doesn't help and it is much more expensive to replace if you happen to drop it). It doesn't need any sort of curved edges.
i was wandering, what would happen if one connects another phone (like note 9 or so) with an usb cable to that 2nd lg monitor? only the g8 supports that 2nd monitor or also other phones (which can be connected to monitors)?
I was hyped to buy this phone but... No android 10, no SDM 855+ and it's not a QHD display. Guess I'll stick to my G7 a little longer. Disappointment but still love LG.
I'm an LG fan ever since the G4/V10 extended the warranty cause of the bootloop shituation. Only question is how long will LG support the consumer with updates?
Nice LG G8X Dual Screen, it is more practical and less expensive then the Samsung dual screen. True Apple is a stubborn company because they have never included a SD card slot in their IPhones.
Good review first.. second i was asking for the dual sim version are they working together in the time in another meaning full active both of them.. thanks.
If you only want extra screen for typing fxtec pro1 is even better option, it has a real keyboard. This seems definitely a better idea than folding screens tho.
Can you use SwiftKey keyboard on this and still have all these dual screen options with copy/paste etc? I use this keyboard for many many years and it brilliantly learn and predict what I type.
Unfortunately, no. The keyboard features for the dual screen like moving to second screen only works with LG default keyboard. It is unfortunate indeed as LG keyboard, while not bad, isn't the greatest
@@bensgadgetreviews Thank you very much for super fast response. Now I don't think I will get this phone as SwiftKey remembers my frequently types emails and whole sentences. Don't know how good LG keyboard is as couldn't find and videos/reviews.
Okay Ben, I finally got my LG GX dual screen thanks in part to your review. The only frustration I'm now having is being able to use Chrome on both screens, like you show. You don't show where the button or icon is that enables this feature, so I have yet to be able to use both screens for a single app like Chrome. Even using Google Assistant hasn't proven helpful. could you either answer this comment or do another reviews that shows some of these features close up and how to enable them.
@@bensgadgetreviews Did that, and just tried it again, but I still only get two copies of the same window, not one big window that I can get "immersive" in. I even tried using a three-finger swipe in landscape to see if that might do it but still no luck. It's just two windows that look identical, not one large window that stretches over both screens. I know Chrome is one of the few apps this is supposed to work with, and other reviewers have shown it as well, I've even "swapped screens", but to no avail. 🤷♂️
Ben I found it. maybe you explained in one of your reviews, and I have seen three or four of them from you, but I have not seen any that have explained you have to go into settings, click on the pencil, and there you will find Wide Mode. You then have to drag and drop the Wide Mode tile into your regular quick settings menu. After that, whenever you want to use it, you first have to enable dual screen then click on any app that you want to see spread across both screens, then go into quick settings and touch the Wide Mode icon to turn it on. Voíla! Like Magic! I can't believe this isn't explained where we expected, but in my searching I found there is an app actually called G8X Wide Mode available for free from the play store. The app actually allows you to use wide mode for almost any app, but there is the factory preset which works for Chrome and gallery.
LG decided to sell the V50 WITHOUT the dual display accessory in the US - in fact the US version doesn’t even have the pins on the back, so one cannot import and use the display at all. It’s amazing the LG would sell the V50 without one of the few selling points for it over other devices like the Samsung S10. Maybe this time around LG will try to sell the G8X dual display without the phone instead, just for a laugh.
Hi, how to get that home screen wallpaper to stay like that without the zoom in effect that happens when applying the seamless wallpaper? Mine always zooms in to a light bluish hue.
This is an interesting setup, but I would be a lot more interested if LG used the triple-camera G8 as the basis for this device rather than the dual camera one.

Thank you Adam
I have the Note 10 plus but now I'm digging that dual screen...decision decision....hmmm
What did you end up doing? I'm in the same boat
(I mean, z1 pro is obviously "better", it's hole punch is like 1/3rd the size of one action's hole punch, much bigger battery, much faster charging, I'm talking about the software and the disadvantages of micro usb).
how do you answer the phone when the dualscreen is attached?
You can do so with the phone closed because there is a small hole for the speaker grille
@@bensgadgetreviews or with the dual screen opened all the way so the main phone is in contact with the ear.
By pressing the google assistant button on the left side of the phone.
This is very nice Ben. Oh BTW nice hair cut.
Thank you!
It would be great that the second screen works with the regular lg G8
It's a great phone for people who uses their email a lot for work or business.
Also good for movies and gaming, for slackers like me😄
Great review! Thank you 🙏
Thank you
Hello I really enjoyed your video and I have a quick question I have the LG V50 that I just recently got from Verizon Wireless and I was so sad to learn that the dual-screen was only available in Europe but watching your video I see now there's another dual screen for the LG G8 X that uses the C-USB port to connect instead of the three pins on the bottom back so if I am not mistaking both phones are about the same size so is it possible for me to connect my LG V50 to the dual screen on the LG G8X using the C-USB port because both phones are the same size and same brand and both phones use dual screens so is it possible to switch the deuce screams so that I may be able to use a dual screen on my LG V50 from Verizon Wireless here in the United States so if you or anyone else can please help me with this question I would really appreciate it very much and thank you so much again sincerely Blair Fox Love!*
Hi, no sorry the v50 will not be able to connect to the G8X dual screen. They are exclusive tech. Sorry.
LG has really strange people with strange vision.
Amazing video! Finally someone who appreciates what LG does and isn't a sheep!
Is it possible to answer a text with the dual screen closed?
Good job bro. As always a very in depth, unbiased review.
LG very innovative..I hope it will click with the consumers..
Can you dial a number while the dualscreen are connected without opening the screens?
Great job man just found you and been watching your vids and I like your reviews
Thank you
Price on AT&T $780 and you get the dual screen included at this price.
Yasss so excited I love your review
Thank you!
LG could have at least used dual edge to edge curved screen. That way the gaps would be smaller or negligible.
Exactly
Oh wow thanks Ben!
Great job. This is my next phone
i was wandering, what would happen if one connects another phone (like note 9 or so) with an usb cable to that 2nd lg monitor?
only the g8 supports that 2nd monitor or also other phones (which can be connected to monitors)?
Can you change the cameras during the filming?
Great video, Thank you!
Do you still love this phone?
Yes!
I was hyped to buy this phone but... No android 10, no SDM 855+ and it's not a QHD display. Guess I'll stick to my G7 a little longer. Disappointment but still love LG.
Every cell phone company should make a dual screen case for their flagship smartphone since not everyone have $2000 to spend on a foldable phone.
Great review, thank you for sharing.
Thank you
Love your channel. Its very informative.
Thank you
I'm an LG fan ever since the G4/V10 extended the warranty cause of the bootloop shituation. Only question is how long will LG support the consumer with updates?
Nice LG G8X Dual Screen, it is more practical and less expensive then the Samsung dual screen. True Apple is a stubborn company because they have never included a SD card slot in their IPhones.
Hey can you help me? They said this phone is water resistant. Is it both screen or just one of the screen?
Good review first.. second i was asking for the dual sim version are they working together in the time in another meaning full active both of them.. thanks.
You can turn on both if need.
If you only want extra screen for typing fxtec pro1 is even better option, it has a real keyboard. This seems definitely a better idea than folding screens tho.
Can you use the camera app on the second screen?
And can you plug the phone in the case inverted, with the screen facing the case?
Hi you don’t have to press any button. Just open chrome twice. One on first screen then open chrome again on another screen.
@@dondep Thank you so much for explaining this!
That's very shortsighted on their end to sell the V50 as a standalone phone.
2011Kestrel I think that's why they re-released this variant. The V50 spec wise is a little better but this will sell.. especially for the price.
This guy knows his shit. Subscribed.
Thank you
excellent review man. thanks
Thank you
Hi, how to get that home screen wallpaper to stay like that without the zoom in effect that happens when applying the seamless wallpaper? Mine always zooms in to a light bluish hue.
How is the battery back up & speed test between these two, if u have to suggest in between Mi K20 pro & Lg G8X, which one it will be? Bro🤔
This is an interesting setup, but I would be a lot more interested if LG used the triple-camera G8 as the basis for this device rather than the dual camera one.
Awesome review, other reviewers should learn from you. You are positive and have inspired me to get the phone. Other reviewers all they know how to do, is batch every smartphone and my saying to them is, if you can do a better smartphone let's see it. All they know how to do is batch every company witch results in confusing desition making and drawback from getting what you want. Let's don't forget messing with the sale of these companies that have invested so much on their product. Thank You so much for your great and direct review of this phone, you made me a believer and I will be purchasing this phone again thanks to you.
Thank You,
Thank you for the kind words
now that you have used the phone for 7 months - could you share your experience using it - are you pleased with its performance - hows the battery keeping up
the back cameras actually aren't the same at all. the original g8 had 16mp camera while this one has a 12mp camera in the back.
What if I want to put temper glass on the main phone? Will it food normally?
nice video man. hows the camera in comparison to iphone and pixel?
Looks like a good phone. Does it still have the DAC like the original G8 ?
Good news yes
@@Oriolus1 thanks for the reply that is good
