What impresses me is the battery. A huge battery in a flagship phone is rare. That's a real improvement with a fast powerful processor and good cameras.
Oneplus and oppo have been doing it for the last couple years now. 12R/Ace 3 had a 5500. And now I think they're going even bigger because of the power of the Silicon. But it does make me nervous about Z fold 7 vs the s25 or whatever. Early sign suggests they're keeping the same size battery Thank God for one plus at least in the North American Market being a holdout where you still get fast charging speeds, bigger batteries and a charger in the Box
My Find X2 Pro was a beast, had to upgrade early this year after the software/security patch updates stopped. Went to a Pixel 8 but I cant wait to get back to another Find X. Best phone I've ever had. Awesome review Ben!
X7 Ultra in gray/black looked amaaaaazing. The X8 Pro looks cheap in comparison. But i am happy that Oppo comes back to germany. My money is on the x200 pro though.
Completely agree. X8 Pro camera design reminds kitchen sink hole. Flat screen on this phone gives impression of cheap phone. Xperia 1 V or Galaxy S24 Ultra flat screens is a different story. They are the best and look harmonic.
its 1200€ in Europe, they are taking the piss 😂 just put the best hardware possible in and make it 1500€ and it'd appeal to more. people outside of China market looking at Chinese alternatives for better hardware, not sidegrade that's not even cheaper!

My dream phone! I don’t know why, but for me, this is the best-looking phone right now, along with the Vivo Mini. I absolutely love the curved corners, similar to Apple's design-it pairs perfectly with the flat display and curved glass all around. The circular camera module in the middle adds to its symmetry, making the phone so aesthetically pleasing. Always watching your videos-love from the Philippines! This phone is a competitor to the vivo x200 pro in terms of camera power, even if the sensors are a little smaller than before, they remain powerful cameras that can be relied upon.

Don't you think they did this downgrade on the Pro, just to put the top tier cameras on the Ultra?? Because if they didn't they would be too similar, and there would be no point on spending the extra money on the Ultra. Nice one ben. I have been testing the phone and I can say, the camera hardware may not be the best but it is producing really good images to the point most cannot see the difference on social media. I will attempt to print one of my favourite photo from the phone to see how the quality is.

What I like about Chinese manufacturers is that their photos have a character/personality. Oppo is my favourite brand in this regard. I am sad that oppo decided to downgrade their camera hardware but at the same time, I understand why they did that.
I feel like OPPO thinks that the price of doing a global release for the Find X series again is ditching all those power-user camera features to cater to more people. Countries like the Philippines didn't even get a Find X3 or Find X5 officially, so we're grateful we're even getting a proper Find series phone again after years of being away. I also think if they made another Ultra, it would just be another China release.
The find x8 pro is the equivalent of $1250 in Indonesia where the price was confirmed (this is far from your mentioned price of around $800). Definitely at least €1200 in Europe. Where are getting the €1000 Euro from? You're kind of misleading a bit on the pricing. Apart from that great review
Agree with you, Ben. Loved the two-tone design on the Find X6/X7 Ultras. It would have been great to see on the Find X8 Pro with the new flatter display, now that it's coming to more markets.

Removing the periscop lens on the find x3 - then removing a 3rd cameraon the find x5 altogether...what did they think they were doing?
The first few reviews I've seen after embargo ended have all pretty much said that it's not all that intuitive. I think what's worrying is that this is what's being said under you know embargoed reviews which are generally pretty favorable. Of course people basically said the same thing about the iPhone camera control button as well.

I agree with you about the leather+metal design at the back of the mobile and tbh last year's designs were really amazing. And, in my opinion I don't care if the mobile is 2 milimeters thicker and 50 grams heavier, I want to have the best camera hardware and the most capacity latest tech battery in it. Larger capacity battery means, less charging for a longer battery life besides being confident in usage for me ...

Thickness in a smartphone is so irrelevant to buying one these days, unless it's a rugged phone thickness doesn't affect me buying a device. Battery life, back design, screen(size and bezels and quality) are what's important to me

I think you're too critical of the cameras. The X8 Pro is not meant to succeed the X7 Ultra in the camera department. It's a cheaper, sleeker and more feature balanced flagship targeted at the mainstream. The real successor, the X8 Ultra, is yet to be revealed.

fyi, vivo x200 series global set already released in malaysia. for find x8, base models starts at rm3699 (rm100 rebate now) while pro is rm4999 (rm300 rebate now). vivo x200 is slightly cheaper, base is rm3599 whereas pro is rm4699.
In the UK this is launching at 1049 pounds for 512GB version and that comes with a free watch and earbuds. Plus there are big trade in discounts. That means it is competing with the s24/25+, NOT the 24/25 ultra. And tbh this absolutely stomps the s24+ lol so i think it's priced pretty well.
It's weird to see that Oppo and Vivo just downgraded the sensors size by relying more on the ISP system. VivoX200 has some flair issues as well. Talking about the OppoX8 series it's so evident that the previous models had better camera performance. Sadly! Currently using VivoX100Pro and I'll stick to it until the X300 series comes out with better sensors.

I don't think the X7 ULTRA is a good comparison to the X8 Pro , simply because OPPO is probably releasing the X8 Ultra next year with 1 inch sensor type, and I believe that's the powerhouse smartphone you're waiting for . I think OPPO did an impressive job with the LYT 808 because they were able to create space for the other sensors especially the two telephotos and still deliver very good photography performance . And I think that was the main point , to give a very good camera experience without going for the expensive sensors and turn this smartphone into a very difficult product to sell in Europe.

I think you're too critical of the cameras. The X8 Pro is not meant to succeed the X7 Ultra in the camera department. It's a cheaper, sleeker and more feature balanced flagship targeted at the mainstream. The real successor, the X8 Ultra, is yet to be revealed.

They are making their "pro" model more mainstream. They kept all those extra camera hardware for the "ultra".
fyi, vivo x200 series global set already released in malaysia. for find x8, base models starts at rm3699 (rm100 rebate now) while pro is rm4999 (rm300 rebate now). vivo x200 is slightly cheaper, base is rm3599 whereas pro is rm4699.
In the UK this is launching at 1049 pounds for 512GB version and that comes with a free watch and earbuds. Plus there are big trade in discounts. That means it is competing with the s24/25+, NOT the 24/25 ultra. And tbh this absolutely stomps the s24+ lol so i think it's priced pretty well.
It's weird to see that Oppo and Vivo just downgraded the sensors size by relying more on the ISP system. VivoX200 has some flair issues as well. Talking about the OppoX8 series it's so evident that the previous models had better camera performance. Sadly! Currently using VivoX100Pro and I'll stick to it until the X300 series comes out with better sensors.

Hey Ben. I don't think the X7 ULTRA is a good comparison to the X8 Pro , simply because OPPO is probably releasing the X8 Ultra next year with 1 inch sensor type, and I believe that's the powerhouse smartphone you're waiting for . I think OPPO did an impressive job with the LYT 808 because they were able to create space for the other sensors especially the two telephotos and still deliver very good photography performance . And I think that was the main point , to give a very good camera experience without going for the expensive sensors and turn this smartphone into a very difficult product to sell in Europe.

@@gezimislamaj5309 no they didn't. They confirmed that the x8 series was going global, but they didn't say that every model would be going global. The base x8 is not coming to a lot of markets I believe so Ultra could be in the same situation

I have findx7 ultra. The only complaints i have is battery size. X7 ultra is like iron man mark 3 with mark 1 battery
