I have SO many favorite versions he plays of crossroads. I think his version with Cream from the Farewell concert is my favorite though. It sounds so angry and it blew my mind when I first heard it. Also incredible how young he was back then.
He just keeps getting better with each passing year. I can not believe how many years I have listened to Clapton and it always puts me in a good mood jamming out to his music as loud as I dare crank my speakers!
Hello 👋 Peggy. How are you doing? Hope you are fine. I'm Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado, where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
The 2010 and 2013 Crossroads performances were awesome. Doyle Bramhall has been doing some great side-man work for Clapton. I hope if there is another Crossroads festival they get Joanne Shaw Taylor and Joe Bonamassa
I think he's just pointing out that Clapton is a talented, multi-faceted artist. That he can play a rockin' blues song on one hand, and a tearful serenade on the other.
hey, illuminati,n was new to utube and wrote a comment above yours if get a chance then come and read it as I think it might help understand the song, ok.sldc
exactly Clapton also wrote Layla and a few dozen other bluesy songs with Derek and the Dominoes what the fuck is their point exactly? he also wrote Badge with his buddy George Harrison who happened to be married to the girl he wrote Layla to lol
Since the beginning , he wanted to be a old bluesplayer , guess what ? Now he is one . Claptons always been good when the band he played within was pushin him and elevated him. Check Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek n the dominoes. When he went solo it all went downhill. Sure he got mainstream recognition, but he kinda just fell into the position of not pushing the envelope too much. Just being a bluesplayer and frontman..

+Peter F. Obviously the underlying chord structure is the same but whenever he puts on a new show he completely re-produces his songs with a whole new feel and groove. Compare the beer commercial version of After Midnight with his original recording. Or the MTV Unplugged version of Layla compared to the classic original with Greg Almond. Or the way he played Crossroads at the Crossroads Guitar Festival compared to the original recording that every aspiring guitar player had to learn. I saw him play Can't Find My Way Home in Lakeland, FL that was barely recognizable until Victor Wooten (on bass) started singing the verse. It was AWESOME.
Eric Clapton is the shit, have always love his guitar playing, especially when he plays the Blues, he will always be my hero in life and his guitar playing too....Eric love you man, keep rocking it.
I used to think EC was irrelevant when I was a kid learning guitar. The more I’ve learnt about music and guitar playing, the more relevant and better he gets. I’ve finally learnt enough to appreciate his music.
