This song was written by the late, great JJ Cale, as well as _After Midnight._ JJ is Clapton's hero. The success of these two songs, along with Lynyrd Skynyrd recording _Call Me The Breeze,_ *which was also written by JJ Cale,* brought JJ out of obscurity, and allowed him to tour as it suited him, because he received royalties from other artists' recording his songs. He moved to Los Angeles and lived in a trailer with no phone. Eric sought JJ out to produce an album with him, but they ended up recording it together: _The Road To Escondido._ ❤
You were almost there. JJ Cale also wrote Call Me The Breeze. If it weren't for Jj Cale none of us would know Eric Clapton or would remember him as that guy in that band with Ginger Baker.

By chance, I met Clapton... twice. First time on a plane to London.I had my young daughter with me. She plays violin. He was so nice to her. Really nice guy. Such an amazing performance. Nathan's bass lines are fantastic and keep the band together, and I think one of the biggest changes to EC concerts in more recent times is Paul Carrack, such a talented guy and a great vocalist especially on the now stalwart Joe Cocker song at concerts 'High Time We Met'. He was probably watching the couple we saw at about three minutes and twenty seconds into the video, the guy was dancing around like he was at an old time tent revival in Georgia!
Starts with Nathan and Eric conversing in the language of tasty licks. Clapton's "1 2 3..." preps the whole hall for a banger. The band makes everyone stand up and dance like there's no tomorrow. Great solos. The band quietly leaves the stage only to come back for another powerful number. Sheer excellence! 🎸🤘

I hope that my wife will someday learn to live on her allowance, which is ample, but if she doesn't sir, that will be her problem, not mine, just as your job is your problem, just as every bum's lot in lfe is his own responsibility regardless of whom he chooses to blame. Great guitarist; one of best ever. Good version of JJ Cale’s composition.
Thanks for sharing
I was lucky enough to see him 4 or 5 times. 👋👋👋
Avec un air comme ça, comment pouvez-vous vous asseoir ? Enfin, ça commence à bouger dans le public.Eric Clapton est l'un des plus grands guitaristes de tous les temps. Génial 🎶
They all been young once
But music never gets old
Reminiscing their youth
A absolute true legend! There will NEVER BE another Slowhand!
listen and watch to John Mayer
Perhaps his best performance of this song. Clapton at the top of his form, with the right musicians beside him, and what a hall to play in!
Es muss so eine Ehre sein, bei Clapton Backround-Sänger/in zu sein
Das ist keine Laufkundschaft die mit Clapton spielt, der gute Erich greift immer ganz weit oben ins Regal, nur das Beste für sich u seine Fans.
Don't forget Nathan East, one of the best bass players ever.
yes he is so good
Vo mir us
vo miär us au 😅@@urbanbader4113
Don't leave out Steve Gadd on the drums either.
And Chris Stainton too
The Royal Albert Hall to mekka, kolebka najlepszej muzyki, słuchać i podziwiać proszę ...👍❤❤❤
Słuchać i podziwiać Erica Claptona i jego wspaniałych muzyków
This is a magical performance! Everyone onstage is in top form! EC was here, indeed!
Thanks to Clapton my mother bought me a electric guitar, unfortunately she passed away one year ago, we were going to play Autumn Leaves Of Clapton in the past December 31, but she wasnt there anymore, So I played alone and I hope she sang with me from heaven
Great version…..unfortunately…I lived that life in the 80’s…..managed to escape…still love the music….still makes me smile.
Saw Clapton in Vegas a month ago. Still the greatest. He didn’t play this but many many great hits. Only one of three shows in USA.
Love playing the drums to this. Clapton is so good.
Playing along to Steve Gadd must be fun ...
I saw the concert in Japan in April, and Eric was the best..👍👍👍 love you..💙💙💙💙💙
This came out when I was a teen, being a drug user I loved it, I had many fun nights, but drug use has followed me and ended up hooked for a huge part of my life, I'm 62 now and I've left a trail of damage, I still battle with it, do yourself a favor and don't start, it will take you in it's vicious cycle.
Sad...courageous to share
I wonder on and off if anyone went down that road because of this track.
Probably the best guitarist since Hendrix we lost him , Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker , to see the happiness in in the faces of the audience says it all
I like Clapton more than Hendrix, but I agree with the sentiment
The only one on blues a guitar God why not he's now 50 years plus entertaining us with serious artwork
best version ever!! wat a band.. nathan, steve and steves,s longtime friends and the back ups!!! ty ERIC at 70.. ty ERIC for the "willpower of AA' as well!
That smile of Clapton after seeing the crowd enjoying is priceless
Great unless yer stuck behind the offs
He was probably watching the couple we saw at about three minutes and twenty seconds into the video, the guy was dancing around like he was at an old time tent revival in Georgia!
He's laughing at the idiots, with no rhythm, throwing themselves around, like they know how to dance! lol
@@claudiagalvez6824 cocaine . . .
Some of rock's most iconic sidemen accompanying Clapton here.
Quel pur bonheur d'écouter de réécouter de ne jamais se lasser..... un indémodable morceau
BRAVO 👍❤️❤️❤️❤️
One of the best versions ever that's for sure
Eric proved he was and still the God of guitar...Many argue but common this man playing over 50 years now n he plays damn good even today...
Now that's what i call a band...what a groove!
The beginning of the music is phenomenal, impeccable, magnificent, I always listen, then I enjoy the rest of the song ....
That piano gave me goosebumps, best version by far!
Chris Stainton on piano, as always. Wherever the class blues players turn up, you'll find Chris Stainton on keyboard or piano. He must be getting on a bit now. He's done Joe Cocker, Pink Floyd, The Who everybody wants Stainton.
El maestro de las cuerdas ,grande Clapton lo sigo desde sus comienzos ,y hoy está haciendo blues y lo hace fantástico felicitaciones desde chile
I could listen to that song all day
I find it amazing that some of these guys care actually better in there 60's and even 70's than they were 30 years. This is be best version I've heard, and the keyboard guy is amazing
They've just matured like a good wine.
@@Alex-vi2wl I think ur right, or were getting old!! Maybe it's both, I can't help but notice alot of these guys seem better, thin I goggle the original, I'm right, they're do much better.
Because they're off cocaine.
You’re right, Chris Stanton is amazing
Eric Clapton is a legend guitarist for sure but how about Miguel Montalban version in here ua-cam.com/video/T6hzlAmSP3I/v-deo.html
Those 2 Dancers!! The Couple!!..Quite the Highlight,What a Treat!
Mr. Clapton is now & always shall be one of the greatest musicians of our times...
Never get tired of jj cale songs.
"Dirty Cocaine" I have to laugh. Imagine JJ Cale adding "dirty" to assure his fans that it's an anti-Cocaine song (which it is)!
@steelyman08, 🎯🎯🎯
C'est très ambigu volontairement...à l'origine c'était dans un esprit pro cocaïne "prudent"
Unreal version. Love the teaser intro....then the stop....gets everybody in...🤣🤣 then kicks off again....simply incredible!!! A true showcase of musical mastery from the entire band....the backing vocals don't do it any harm either 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍
E.C. with a great band: Steve Gadd (drums), Nathan East (bass), Chris Stainton (piano, keys) & the great Paul Carrack (Hammond B3). Not forgetting the ladies (don't know their names) with amazing singing! Awesome! Greetings from Portugal.
Virgolino Luis Singers are Michelle John and Sharon White. Clapton always had/has great bands, including singers.
His best band ! And the Royal Albert Hall is one of the best places !

What a show! I moved to London a while ago, I would love see him coming back to London, hopefully 2023!
Damn good music, 70”s and 80”s best music.
Batrina melodie interpretata si de monstrul sacru Eric Clapton într-un acompaniament de excepție. !!! gaby
Been following him since 1966..... Absolutely amazing artist.
yes, Clapton's the best, in my opinion, well &.... McCartney :)
This is what happens when you get the best people in the business to set egos aside and go for it!!!
You are an Eric Stalker who beat me by one year
That is why he was called GOD.
Since the original recording of Erics cover this is the best I have heard him do
I call Maestro Clapton the postman because he delivers brilliant music and musicianship - ALWAYS!
It's so odd to think that the people who were critical of this song when it first came out, looked like Clapton does now... LOL. Glad he keeps on keepin' on!
Your revolution is over. Condolences. The bums lost. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me? The bums will always lose!
@Eric Johnson It's interesting how he doesn't just play again the same way each time but tries new arrangements, with an open mind, without betraying the spirit of the songs.
I hope that my wife will someday learn to live on her allowance, which is ample, but if she doesn't sir, that will be her problem, not mine, just as your job is your problem, just as every bum's lot in lfe is his own responsibility regardless of whom he chooses to blame. I didn't blame anyone for the loss of my legs, some Chinamaman took them from me in Korea, but I went out and achieved anyway. I can't solve your problems, sir, only you can. @Oxy The Moronic Genius.
If you live guitar you have to.go through the legacy of Clapton to.play
I really love this intro. And he always have so amazing chorus girls. I don`t need to say it but I love Clapton.
my favorite clapton solos are further on up the road in the last waltz and his work on the pros and cons of hitchhiking with waters.
Eric Clapton is second to none, we all know. But the performance is incredible the bassist, pianist, drums. All 🔝
👍
wait, what do you mean, second to none??
Look at the age of the people, the oldies, I love it. I am also an oldie. Great loving music.
Hello @yvonnevanderhilst7317, I'm glad you're a fan. How are you doing today? It's my pleasure meeting you here. Is this song one of your favorite songs?
